3 99-78 NOTES DSH DISSSEMLY Remove trim surrounding shift lever. (Fig. ) Remove Left and Right lower console covers and Phillips screws ( each side) behind the covers. (Fig. ) Unsnap and remove the upper, forward console trim pieces from either side of the climate controls and then remove the two Phillips screws holding bottom of radio. (Fig. ) ontinued on Pg....

4 99-78 DSH DISSSEMLY NOTES 6 Drop the glove compartment by releasing return cable and then squeezing the middle of the compartment to allow the stoppers to pass the frame. (Fig. D) Remove hidden 0mm bolt holding the radio in place then remove radio from dash. (Fig. E) Remove the hazard/ light switch plate from the top of the radio panel and install it back into the same location after the Metra kit is installed in the dash. (Fig. F) D E F

5 99-78 KIT SSEMLY KIT PREPRTION DDIN HED UNIT PROVISION 6 ut and remove the center bar from the radio housing. (Fig. ) Snap the Double DIN brackets to the inside edges of the Double DIN trim plate. (Fig. ) Slide the Double DIN head unit or stacked ISO head units into the bracket/radio housing assembly and secure the Double DIN head unit or stacked ISO head units to the assembly using the screws supplied with the radio. (Fig. ) Snap the double DIN trim plate into the radio housing. (Fig. ) Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter from Metra or XXESS. Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation. Reassemble dash in reverse order of disassembly. Slide the (6) plastic Panel lips provided with this kit onto the legs located on the back of the Radio Housing. (Fig. ) 6

6 99-78 KIT SSEMLY KIT SSEMLY DIN HED UNIT PROVISION ISO DIN HED UNIT PROVISION Slide the DIN cage into the Radio Housing and secure by bending the metal locking tabs down. (Fig. ) Snap the pocket into the bottom opening of the radio housing. (Fig. ) Slide the aftermarket head unit into the cage and secure. (Fig. ) Locate the factory wiring harness and antenna plug in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapters from Metra and/or XXESS. Reassemble dash in reverse order of disassembly. Mount the ISO rackets to the head unit with the screws supplied with the unit. (Fig. ) Snap the pocket into the bottom opening of the radio housing. (Fig. ) Slide the head unit into the radio opening until the side clips engage. (Fig. ) Snap the Trim plate into the Radio Housing. (Fig. ) Locate the factory wiring harness and antenna plug in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapters from Metra and/or XXESS. 6 Reassemble dash in reverse order of disassembly.
