1 Sea Gull Swim Club Membership Membership in the Sea Gull Swim Club entitles members to scheduled use of the Maggs Aquatic facility Monday, June 2 Saturday, August 9, The Sea Gull Swim Club is operated from funds generated by pool memberships, swimming lessons and use by the Office of Conference and Planning. Some overlap of these groups may occur. The Maggs Aquatic area includes a 25 meter, six lane swimming pool and a large patio area located just outside the pool doors that may be used for sunbathing or relaxing. Membership Options Option 1 - Full time SU faculty, staff, students (current SU identification card required) and IRP members. Individual - $65 *Family - $95 Option 2 - Friends of the University Individual - $100 *Family - $170 Option 3 - Sea Gull Punch Card -For the occasional swimmer or guest, this option allows 20 visits (not 20 days) for $75. The Sea Gull Punch Card does not entitle the holder to discounted swim lesson rates. *Family memberships Include up to four members; additional family members $10 each. **Guests are NOT allowed. Replacement Fee - A fee of $25 will be charged to replace lost pool membership and punch cards. Membership cards are not transferable and may be revoked without refund for misuse. Recreation Hours Membership begins Monday, June 2, and ends Saturday, August 9, at 5 pm. SU reserves the right to suspend (without refund) the swimming privileges of any member for improper behavior, language or abuse of the pool rules. Please note: All children 16 years of age and under must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times while in the pool area. Occasional variations in the pool schedule may occur due to unforeseen and/or uncontrollable circumstances. The pool is closed July 4. Flotation Devices All life vests and floatation devices must be USCG approved. Children needing a floatation device must be accompanied in the water by an adult. You supply your own equipment to assure proper fit. Salisbury University no longer supplies life vests for patrons. Membership and punch cards will not be available until June 2. Membership and punch cards should be picked up during your first visit to the pool.
2 Sea Gull Swim School A wide variety of aquatic courses are available through the Sea Gull Swim School. Price for all lessons - $80 non-members / $70 members Preschool Aquatics (Ages 6 months - 5 years) Limit 15 students per session. $80 non-members/$70 members Instruction to aid children in becoming comfortable in the water. Skills taught through games, song and fun include rhythmic breathing, prone float and glide, back float and glide, flutter kick, turning over, changing direction and basic safety principles. Parental participation required for children under 3, optional for 3to5 year olds. Session 1 Monday through Thursday June 23 July 3 5:00 5:45 p.m. Session 2 Monday through Thursday July 7 - July 17 10:00 10:45 a.m. Children s Lessons - Levels 1-6 Sessions limited to 25 students $80 non-members/$70 members Level 1-6 classes are designed for children 5 15 years of age and will be held Monday through Thursday unless indicated otherwise. Please indicate your child s level if known, however all children are tested the first day of lessons to assure they are in proper level. Time slots are indicated on the registration form. Level 1 Introduction to Water Skills Level 2 Fundamental Aquatic Skills Level 3 Stroke Development Level 4 Stroke Improvement Level 5 Stroke Refinement Level 6 Swimming and Skill Proficiency Adult Lessons Session limited to 10 students $80 non-members/$70 members Adult lessons are for those over the age of 15 who would like to learn basic swimming and water survival techniques. Time slots are indicated on the registration form. Register Early By Mail! All Sea Gull Swim School classes operate on a first come, first served basis. A full refund will be issued if the class you have registered for is full. A letter of confirmation will be sent for classes, membership and punch cards. 4 Maggs Pool membership Terms and Conditions Before signing this document, I have read, understood, and hereby agree to the membership terms and conditions as defined in the membership application form. (See below) 1. To enter the facility, members must present their Valid Membership ID or swim lessons receipt each visit. 2. Those individuals who do not possess a Valid ID card or swim lesson receipt are NOT permitted to enter the facility. 3. All members must register their attendance by swiping their access card and/or signing in the registration book at the front desk prior to entering the facility. 4. ID Cards must be carried and shown upon request. 5. Replacement cards are available at a cost determined by the Salisbury University Athletic/Campus Recreation Department (Lost or Stolen Cards). 6. If a card is faulty, a replacement card will be issued at no cost to the member upon the return of the original faulty card. 7. Memberships allow use of the specified area and locker room usage ONLY. Administration 1. Memberships are NON-REFUNDABLE. 2. Membership cards are NOT TRANSFERABLE. Shared memberships and/or allowing unauthorized access to an Athletic/Campus Recreation facility is prohibited and will result in immediate forfeiture of membership. 3. Use of activity areas is based on availability which may vary from day to day. 4. Shirt, shoes and appropriate attire are required at all Athletic/Campus Recreation facilities. 5. Children 14 years of age and younger must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult at all times while in Athletic/Campus Recreation facilities. 6. Bikes, Skates or Skateboards are not permitted in the facility. 7. Pets are not permitted within the facility. 8. Anyone suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be asked to leave the premises and University Police will be called. 9. Profanity will not be tolerated. Anyone using inappropriate language or behaving in an offensive or unsportsmanlike manner will be asked to leave the facility. 10. Salisbury University Athletic/Campus Recreation facilities may not be used for private instruction, personal training, private swim lessons or to provide services not approved in writing by the Athletic/Campus Recreation Department. 11. All activities must be consistent with the designed purpose of each room. 12. All equipment should be returned to its appropriate location upon the completion of the activity. 13. Any rented or borrowed equipment that is returned damaged will be charged to the user at a cost determined by the Salisbury University Athletic/Campus Recreation Department. 14. The use of photographic equipment to take pictures of any person in Salisbury University Athletic/Campus Recreation facilities without that person s permission is prohibited. This prohibition includes cell phones with built-in camera devices. 15. Gym bags, backpacks, etc. are not permitted in fitness and exercise areas or hallways. Personal belongings should be secured in lockers. Athletic/Campus Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen items. 16. No activity held in the Athletic/Campus Recreation facilities may conflict or compete with other Recreational Sports, Physical Education, or Athletic Programming offered. 17. Salisbury University reserves the right to refuse service to any participant who violates any policy and procedure, or engages in any verbal and/or physical abuse of Staff or Participants. 18. Salisbury University is not responsible for any injury or the management/care of any injury. For immediate injury assistance please contact If Salisbury University is closed due to inclement weather or emergency situations, the Athletic/Campus Recreation facilities may be closed. Salisbury University reserves the right to determine whether or not the facility will be open or closed to protect the safety of its participants and staff.
5 Assumption of Risk and Liability Before signing this document, I have read, understood, and hereby agree to the assumption of risk and liability terms as defined on the membership application insert. Assumption of Risk and Warning In consideration for being allowed to utilize the programs, services, facilities and equipment in the Salisbury University Athletic/Campus Recreation Program and Salisbury University Athletic/Campus Recreation facilities, I voluntarily agree to assume all risks involved in participating in or using programs, services, facilities and equipment of Salisbury University Athletics/Campus Recreation. I understand that there are risks and hazards, minor and serious, associated with participation in athletic and fitness activities. I recognize that there are both foreseeable and unforeseeable risks of injury or death that may occur as a result of my participation in or use of the Salisbury University Athletic/Campus Recreation programs, facilities and equipment that cannot be specifically listed. Further, I recognize that the actions of other users of the Salisbury University Athletic/Campus Recreation programs and facilities may cause harm or loss to my person or property. I understand that I am using the Salisbury University Athletic/Campus Recreation faculties at my own risk and that the State of Maryland, University System of Maryland, and Salisbury University (including its Athletic/Campus Recreation Department) are not responsible for any injury or loss incurred by me during my use of the faculties. Release of Liability I release and forever discharge the State of Maryland, the University System of Maryland, Salisbury University, Salisbury University Athletic/Campus Recreation Department, and the employees, agents or representatives of all of the above (hereafter referred to as the UNIVERSITY GROUP) from any liability, claims, costs, and expenses resulting from any injury or loss that I sustain in connection with my use of the services, facilities and equipment in the Salisbury Athletic/Campus Recreation facilities (including loss or damage to my person or property caused by other users of the program and/or facilities).
