Accepted methods of purchasing meal plans at Darton State College are with cash, debit card, VISA, MasterCard, money order, cashier s check, certified check or by charging to the student s financial aid account provided available funds have been verified. (NO PERSONAL or BUSINESS CHECKS will be accepted for payment of a meal plan.) The purchase price of meal plans or funds remaining on meal plans if a student withdraws or at the end of the semester are non-refundable. General Information: The Dining Contractor has a four day meal plan week (Monday-Thursday). Darton State College Students with meal plans must take their ID CARD/Cavalier Card to the dining hall in order to purchase a meal and process payment. NO ID CARD/CAVALIER CARD, NO MEAL! Cavalier Cards are accepted by the dining hall cashiers at designated register stations. By using the Darton Bucs a student may purchase any item sold in the dining hall any time during the day/evening. The meal plan holder is not limited as to what he/she may purchase during the day/evening as long as funds are available to access on the meal plan. Unused Darton Bucs expire at the end of each semester. Any student, faculty, or staff member at Darton State College may elect to purchase a meal plan. Students residing in the Darton Commons, Darton Village South or other Darton State College housing units are required to purchase a meal plan of their choice. Students wishing to appeal the meal plan requirement must submit the required Meal Plan Exemption form to the Auxiliary Contract Liaison (C111) by the deadline date of each semester as outlined on the appeal form. Meal Plan Exemption forms may be printed from the College s website: Cavalier Life/Auxiliary/Meal Plan. The College reserves the right to adjust the meal plans and pricing structure of each meal plan prior to the beginning of each new semester/summer term. The College will provide students with notice of any such changes as early as possible before the beginning of each new semester/summer term; however, meal plans and costs for each semester/summer term are subject to change without notice.

2 Dining Services Meal Plan Contract Summer Term Page 2 Payment Information Residential students Students required to purchase a meal plan will be charged the cost of the meal plan chosen and marked on the contract each semester/term. Non-Residential Students/Commuters Students who choose to purchase a meal plan must also sign a contract. Payment in full must be made at the time the contract is submitted to the Auxiliary Liaison s Office (C111). By signing the contract, the student accepts responsibility for payment of the full cost of the meal plan. Those mandated to purchase meal plans will pay the entire cost of the chosen plan regardless of how many times the plan is used or when usage begins or ends each semester. Requests for any contract cancellation must be submitted and approved by the Contract/Meal Plan Liaison Events Office, Student Center, C111. ID cards are deactivated when a student is no longer enrolled at Darton State College, i.e. non-payment, purged, withdrawals. Card activation and use is processed and monitored through the Blackboard Office located in the Office of Information Technology (A Building, Room 153). ACCEPTANCE OF AND AGREEMENT TO PAY MEAL PLAN CONTRACT The student should complete a meal plan contract. This obligates the student to purchase a meal plan for the Summer Term, IT IS THE STUDENT S RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY THE MEAL PLAN IN FULL OR HAVE FINANCIAL AID APPROVAL PRIOR TO THE BEGINNING OF SUMMER TERM, 2016, WHETHER OR NOT THE ACTUAL CHARGE HAS BEEN POSTED TO THE STUDENT S ACCOUNT. Payment will be made by: Cash Cashier s Check Debit Certified Check Visa/Master Charge Financial Aid * *If no financial aid is available, then payment for the meal plan must be made to the College s Cashier (K121). All information must be filled out on the contract (front and back). Incomplete contracts will be returned to the student. This could cause a delay in the student being able to eat in Food Service. MEAL PLAN CONTRACTS SHOULD NOT BE RETURNED TO HOUSING. Contracts for NEW STUDENTS received after due date and paid will be processed and activated within three days of receiving the contract. May 11, 2016 Process for Appeal: Deadline to file Request for Meal Plan Exemption (Last Day to Submit Appeal) A Meal Plan Exemption Request form MUST be filled out and submitted to the Office of Auxiliary Contract Liaison, Student Center, C111, by the deadline date above in order to process an appeal. This form may be found: Cavalier Life/Auxiliary/Meal Plan. After the form is received (C111), the Meal Plan Appeals Committee will meet and make a final decision. Notification will be sent to the student at the address listed on the form and by mail. Monday, May 23, 2016 Thursday, July 28, 2016 Meal plan BEGINS with dinner, 4:45 PM Meal plan ENDS with dinner, 7:00 PM Students who arrive on campus before registration day are responsible for purchasing their own meals. Food Service will not be open and the meal plan does not begin until 4:45 PM on registration day. ***DINING HALL CLOSED DATES*** Memorial Day Holiday Closed Monday, May 30, Reopens, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 for breakfast at 7:45 AM. July 4 th Holiday Closed Monday, July 4, Reopens Tuesday, July 5, 2016 for breakfast at 7:45 AM. All fees must be paid by the student or have payment authorized by Financial Aid BEFORE students can begin eating in Food Service. (see other side)

5 Auxiliary Services-Meal/Board Plans Summer, 2016 Meal Plans Buc 4 Darton Bucs only $750 Buc 3 Darton Bucs only $550 Commuter Optional Plans Commuters get an added value when you purchase a Dining Dollars Card. Purchase a $50 DartonBucs card and receive $55 in spending power. Purchase a $150 DartonBucs card and receive $170 in spending power. Hours Summer Term Monday through Thursday 7:45 a.m. 7:00 p.m. Darton has a meal plan that may be used the same as cash during the day for meals. The meal plan holder will use the Cavalier Card to access the Darton Bucs from 7:45 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. By using the Darton Bucs, a student may purchase any item sold in the dining hall any time during the day/evening. The meal plan holder is not limited as to what he/she may purchase during the day/evening as long as funds are available to access on the meal plan. The dining center will be open on a cash/a-la-carte basis from 7:45 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. This will take place four (4) days a week, Monday-Thursday during the Summer Term. Open and closed dates for the dining hall are listed on the attached information sheets. Unused Darton Bucs expire at the end of each semester. Unused Darton Bucs are nonrefundable. Patrons who do not have meal plans will continue to be able to purchase meals and a-la-carte during the day and evening hours.
