MH monitored implementation of fast maths in all classes. 3.2 Learning environment Maths learning walls introduced and used to help children understand the journey through each maths topic. Findings Children using fast maths skills in regular lessons. Learning walls in every classroom. Children s recall of key maths facts much improved. 3.3 Pupil conferencing Children asked about impact of fast maths and learning walls. Next steps: introduce no-nonsense spelling and Literacy learning walls. 3.3 Pupil interviews As above.
4 4. Curriculum innovation/special events Description Impact Implications for SDP History and Topic trips such as Roman Day, Circus Day, India Day and visits to the Exeter mosque and Paignton Zoo. Children enjoy coming to school. New curriculum being implemented and developed. Visit by free-cyclist world champion Swimming lessons Year 5 and Year 2 so far. A range of tournaments and competitions ranging from cross country to athletics for specific teams. Safety week: focus on personal safety including child sexual exploitation Class assemblies and Dance day, including drama and music opportunities. More children are developing this life skill. More able children are receiving high quality provision and are competent enough to take part in competitions. Children know how to keep themselves safe and ask for help. More able children extending their music and drama skills and learning how to perform. Sports premium funding having a positive impact on children s overall wellbeing. Now a regular feature for each term. Updated in response to safeguarding audit. 5.
