Established tire test magazines and Auto Clubs cover at least 14 test criteria or even more. 26 ContiPremiumContact 5: Grip Zone Wet Grip Improvement Pattern + 2 % The three phases of Aquaplaning: Tread blocks penetrate water film and water simply moves into the space that is available in the tread. If tread negative is full of water, the tire is effectively a slick; all additional water is displaced in the direction of travel and to the sides. The footprint is no longer sufficient to transfer the incurred forces which is resulting in aquaplaning. The tread pattern and the surface pressure determine the rate of water displacement.
