The right products and techniques help restore some of the moisture, light and color that your face has lost over time. Here are some tips to help you achieve your most youthful look: 1. Stick to creamy products to hide imperfections: A creamy concealer like Cream Concealer and/or Imperfection Corrector can do wonders to hide dark circles around the eyes, minimize sunspots and other discoloration. 2. Say yes to moisture-rich products: As a general rule, mature skin is more dehydrated, so try switching from oil-free to regular foundations for a more supple skin finish. Try Skin Defense Makeup SPF 15 and/or Moisturizing Makeup SPF 15 and see a dramatic difference in your glow. If you re looking for sheer coverage, try adding a drop of moisturizer to your regular foundation. 3. Avoid heavy powders that can have an aging effect: Foundations on mature skin often look best without the use of powder, which can settle into lines and make your skin look older. They can also reverse the dewy look of youthful skin by creating a dull, matte or flat effect. If powder is needed, lightly apply a small amount of Translucent Face Powder or Pressed Powder to the t-zone. 4. 39 10 SIMPLE STEPS TO A SIMPLY FABULOUS FACE Applying makeup should be a fast, fun and creative experience. We ll take you through the simple steps to enhance your natural beauty and put your best face forward. So go ahead and express yourself! 1. Put a dot of concealer under the eyes, and on the inside corners. Then blend in to brighten the eyes, camouflage shadows and hide discoloration. 2. Place a dot of foundation anywhere you have discoloration, a blemish, or uneven skin tone. Then blend in for a flawless, even and natural finish. 3. Pat or brush on powder sparingly, concentrating on the T-zone and around the nose. You want to stop shine without creating a heavy, made-up look. 4. Lightly brush your blush on the apples of your cheeks to give your complexion a healthy glow. Remember, a little goes a long way. 5. Use a sharp eye pencil or liquid liner and draw an even line from the inside of the lid to the outer lid. 6. Choose a flattering shade of eyeshadow and brush it over your lid and eyeliner, as close to the lashes as possible. Choose a lighter color for day and a richer, more dramatic color for evening glamour. For even more drama, put a light highlight of color under your browline or use a darker shade of shadow in the creases or outer lid area. 7. Use an eyelash curler, then apply a single coat of mascara and let it dry. Continue applying coats of mascara until you have the lush lashes you desire. 8. Use an eyebrow brush on your brows and lightly fill in any sparse spots with a matching pencil. 9. If using a lip pencil to define or even out your lip line, be sure to fill in your lips with the pencil and blend it in well for long lasting color and a strong base. 10. Add lipstick or gloss to finish your look. Be sure to blot with a tissue to keep excess color from getting on your teeth. Now you re good to go! 39

40 MAKEUP ARTISTRY MAKEUP TIPS ON WHAT TO DO, WHAT NOT TO DO, AND WHAT SIMPLY DOESN T MATTER... DO start and end your day with a clean face and a fresh palette keep your eyebrows well trimmed but very natural apply more than one coat of mascara for dramatic looking eyes use a highlighting shade in the inner corner of the eyes to brighten your look apply a very small amount of highlighter to the highest points of your cheekbones after applying blush, to give your complexion a healthy glow choose a blush color that matches your cheeks when you blush smudge eyeliner with a matching eyeshadow to create a more softer lined eye.

41 DON T sleep in your makeup. It s drying and can clog pores keep mascara longer than three months, if you use it every day. Mascaras tend to dry out if used every day just test one foundation color at a time. Test three colors side-byside along the jaw line and blend. The right color is the one that almost disappears over powder. It has an aging look. Use a translucent powder only where needed (i.e. the T-zone). And leave your cheeks powder-free for a fresher, more radiant look wear a strong lip color if you re wearing strong eye makeup. Use a neutral lipstick or gloss so your face has only one focal point line your lips by drawing a line around your lips. Lip liners should never be seen! Find a lip color that matches your natural color and blend the liner into your lips. If you re looking for a dramatic mouth, choose a darker lip liner, but always blend it in and match a lip color to it. High Definition Mascara Eyebrow Pencil Powder Blush Lip Tint/Lip Shine Lash Maximizing Mascara Ultra Shine Lip Gloss Cream Concealer DOESN T MATTER if you use a sponge, a brush or your fingers to apply your foundation. Just make sure anything you use is clean if you wear powder, liquid foundation or just concealer. Less is more, so only conceal your imperfections what skin color you are black mascara, groomed eyebrows, a pink/peachy blush and a clear gloss are universally flattering makeup staples if you don t have time to put on a full face of makeup. You can look very fresh and youthful by simply wearing mascara and your favorite lip gloss what skin color you are, you can find the perfect shade of red lipstick whether it s a blue/red or an orange/red. So start your search, because red lips are a timeless classic. 41

42 color ESSENTIAL MAKEUPTIPS for every Woman of Color SKIN CARE Before applying foundation, maintain hydration by prepping skin with a moisturizer for your skin type. Also remember to exfoliate 2 to 3 times a week, because regular exfoliation buffs away dead, dull surface cells and helps stimulate your skin s own rejuvenation and cell turnover. Try the Microdermabrasion Kit with crushed bamboo powder to help eliminate surface-dulling, dead skin cells, diminish uneven skin tone and ensure a flawless skin finish. FOUNDATION Test two or three foundations at your jaw-line and blend. The color that seems to disappear is the perfect match. Try Always Color Stay-On makeup with a diverse shade range for your perfect match. CONCEALER Use each shade of Imperfection Corrector separately or blend flesh tones with the Neutralizer (orange shade) for the perfect discoloration coverage. Neutralizer is used to neutralize dark spots. Medium evens out under eye discoloration and conceals blemishes. Deeper skin tones can use the Medium shade as a highlighter in the inner and outer corners of the eyes or on the brow bone for a brighter effect. Dark evens out under eyes and conceals blemishes. Fair skin tones can use the Dark shade as a contour cream under the cheekbones or the jaw-line. 42 POWDER Use Translucent Face Powder to set foundation or to simply create a matte effect and naturally flawless looking skin. Apply yellow-based setting powders under the eye and in the t-zone to brighten overall complexion. Try Translucent Face Powder Golden Brown or Golden Sand. Use brown shades to blot shine or as a contour powder under the cheekbones, or in the eye crease. Also use it under the cheekbones or to chisel the jaw-line. LIP COLOR When selecting a nude lipstick, women with deeper skin tones should look for lip color that has a richer hue.
