2 WELCOME! Is your child ready to trade stories, share a favorite book, or sing camp songs with a new friend? Want to be greeted with smiles and high-fives from staff and fellow campers for accomplishing something new? Does your child want to fit in just for being who they are? At Y camp, we are here to make your kids feel welcome and to help them quickly realize this is a place where they belong and can be themselves...try new things...learn new skills...make new friends...and be a part of something great. A camp experience can be a powerful tool for personal growth. This is why we strive to offer the highest quality camps with the most diverse opportunities. We put a lot of effort into creating a fun, safe environment by carefully selecting staff through screenings and background checks. We also provide thorough trainings (including first aid, CPR, risk management, character building etc.) Our staff are of the highest integrity, personal and spiritual maturity, and are enthusiastic about camp. You can depend on the Y to make sure that camp is well supervised. Summer Camp seems like a long way off, but it will be here before you know it. 3 WHY CHOOSE US? We offer more than silly songs and games. Being part of our summer day camp program is about learning who you are and becoming what you want to be. It s about developing new skills and healthy habits, reaching goals and building relationships. Our summer day camp helps you gain self-confidence, build character, and focuses on the whole child in spirit, mind and body. READY! SET! PACK! Please bring backpacks to camp that contain the following items: Swimsuit & towel Water bottle Bug spray Sunscreen Plastic bag to hold wet swimsuit Gym shoes (no sandals or flip flops) Label your child s name clearly on everything they bring to camp. Please send a packed lunch with your child in August. (no microwaveables, please). For the safety and protection of all children, please do not allow your camper to bring personal items such as electronic devices, cell phones, sharp objects, or anything that could be considered a weapon to camp. Campers are expected to keep track of their own belongings and respect the property of others. Any items found in a camper s possession that conflict with the YMCA s Code of Conduct will be removed by Y staff. The Code of Conduct can be found at fwymca.org. CAMP KEKIONGA (Hodell Acres) 6:30am - 6pm 3135 Elmhurst Drive Fort Wayne, IN You may drop your child off at the Central Branch YMCA (1020 Barr Street) between 6:30 & 8:15am. We transport your child via Fort Wayne Community School bus to Camp Kekionga. You may drop your child off at Camp Kekionga between 8:45 and 9am & pick up your child at camp no later than 3pm. Any child remaining after 3pm is transported back to the Central Branch YMCA where you may pick him/her up between 4 and 6pm. RENAISSANCE POINTE YMCA 6:30am - 6pm 2323 Bowser Avenue Fort Wayne, IN Parent or guardian is responsible for transportation to and from camp. Glenwood Park School, Camp Kekionga, Renaissance Pointe YMCA Fee: $115/week YMCA Members; $140/week Program Participants Ages: Entering Kindergarten through 12 years old Lunches: Provided June, July Activities: Outdoor games, sports, nature hikes, outdoor education, creative arts and various other fun activities. Weekly field trips include roller skating, bowling and swimming.

(minimum of 3 business days before session) Payment for each registered week is due no later than Thursday before the registered week of camp Preferred method of payment for camp is automatic draft. 6 WEEKLY THEMES (Dates subject to change) Week #1 Y-lympics* (May 31-June 3) *Pro-rated week, closed on Memorial Day, May 30th Join us this week as we go for the GOLD! Groups will work as teams to compete in our very own Olympic-style games. The Y torch is coming to you; will you accept the challenge to carry it? Week #2 Dinomania (June 6-10) Calling all young archeologists! Dig up some summer fun with our own dinosaur exploration! Join us this week and take a bite out of summer! Roar! Week #3 Robot Revolution (June 13-17) Join us for a week of fun with amazing robots! Learn about the uses of robots in our world and spend time experimenting. Use your skills to build your very own robot-and take it home with you! Week #4 The ME I Will Be (June 20-24) What do you want to be when you grow up? Join us as we have fun exploring exciting career possibilities in medicine, mechanics and education and spark new interests in young minds. Week #5 The Mighty Jungle (June 27-July 1) Jaguars, Monkeys, and Snakes...oh my! It s a jungle out there and we want to play in it! Release your inner Tarzan and join us for a jungle adventure! Week #6 Drip, Drip, SPLASH! (July 5-8) *Pro-rated week, closed on Independence Day, July 4th. Get ready to make a splash during this wet and wild week of camp! Campers will enjoy various water activities such as water bucket relays, water balloons, water tag and more.

7 Week #7 Pirates Life For Me (July 11-15) Ahoy there matey, time to hoist the sails and prepare for rip roaring fun. Bring your best mates and jump aboard as we scavenge the seas for treasure and bounty. Week #8 All Aboard! (July 18-22) It doesn t matter how you get here as long as you are ready for fun! Explore and discover all types of transportation that gets us from home to camp, and all over the world! We ll be on the go for this fast-paced week of fun studying vehicles of all kinds. Campers will also design, build and race their favorite modes of transportation! Week #9 Helping Hands...the Good Samaritan (July 25-29) Lending a helping hand, doing a favor, encouraging others, giving back, or performing a kind act-you would be surprised how community service will help the heart grow. Join us for a week of service as we help others and have some fun while we are at it! Week #10 Neon Explosion (August 1-5) Hammer Pants, Big Hair, and Leg Warmers...Oh Yeah! We are taking a trip back in time to when parents were youngsters. So put on your dancing shoes and get your hairspray ready, this week will be a blast from the past! Week #11 Camp Friends Forever* (August 8-12) *Glenwood closed this week It s time to wrap up the summer with all of your friends! This week we will celebrate each day with our favorite camp songs, games, and crafts. You won t want to miss the grand finale as we say goodbye to Summer Camp 2016!
