4 Why train with us? As experts in children and young people s mental health, Place2Be s range of professionally validated qualifications draws on our extensive first-hand experience. We will help you gain the skills you need to become a children s counsellor, or to progress to a higher level of counselling training. Our therapeutic approach Place2Be s integrative therapeutic approach is informed by attachment theory which emphasises the crucial developmental significance of early childhood experiences. Beyond this level of understanding, two broad strands of therapeutic influence the Person-Centred and the Psychodynamic are brought together in everyday practice to inform and guide Place2Be Counsellors in their work. Other related forms of therapy (e.g. Creative Arts therapies, Gestalt Therapy) may be included and adapted by some Place2Be Counsellors within these two predominant approaches. Elements of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy are applied where appropriate to the needs of children, adolescents and parents. Systemic thinking is used to understand the school context in which the Place2Be Counsellor functions. SIX REASONS TO TRAIN WITH PLACE2BE Ranging from entry level courses to a Postgraduate Diploma and Masters Degree whatever stage of the journey you are at, we have a course to suit you.
