There is 1 extra sentence. Techno music What is techno music? Is it close to disco? (1) According to Rob Mitchell, one of WARP's heads, 'it's the sort of music you can't imagine before you hear it. 'Does this sound promising enough? If so, why not have a go at some of WARP's artists to spoil yourself with the diversity of tunes they offer. If you are a curious listener in search of a new musical adventure, if you are ready to be bombarded with the unpredictable, you will not be disappointed. The label was originally established in Sheffield, UK. However, it was later moved to London. (2) By many, it is said to be the best techno label in the world. Yet, is it techno as you know it? Classifying WARP's music is a daunting task. There are many albums you can find in its catalogue, but hardly any of them could be called collections of truly dancing pieces. Still, diehard techno lovers become engrossed in Autechre's chilling and purly digital electro, Squarepusher's excitingly paranoid drum'n'base, or the immense charm of broadcast. Needless to say, the examples of truly remarkable WARP's artists are countless. (3) You can choose from post-rave and minimal techno, through experimental electronic music, to schizoid mutations of electro-pop and hip hop. The primary concern of the heads of the label was to remain egalitarian. (4) With WARP as possibly the most outstanding new alternative techno music label, Sheffield became known as the capital of music futurists. WARP is by no means the only alternative music label. (5) However, its releases are unique and, taking pride in its variety, differ considerably from those of Mille Plateaux or Chain Reaction although they were all initially inspired by the music of Kraftwerk and some of their followers, such as Mantronix.
