Please bring this book with you to your appointment so your Kitchen Designer can discuss your wish list and notes with you. Each consultant is a qualified interior designer with specialist knowledge in cabinetry and joinery. On weekends, you ll still have access to experienced Design Assistants for styling advice and cabinetry options. At your Kitchen Culture appointment, the focus is on functionality. You will complete your cabinetry finish selections and spend time considering cabinetry configuration options, including for example, the number and size of drawers, the number of handles, drawer systems and much more. Rest assured that they will highlight any opportunities to increase livability and functionality, such as options for floating shelves in the bathrooms, a media unit in the home theatre or an outdoor kitchen in the alfresco. Know that not only are the team qualified on paper, they undertake additional training to ensure they are on top of trends and the latest in kitchen, bathroom and laundry fit outs. Share your excitement with family and friends by taking away free samples that showcase your selections after your Kitchen Culture appointment. Pricing is provided during the appointment so that you can scale your options up or down to suit your budget and at the end of the appointment, you will be provided with an itemised quote. 4

5 WHAT ELSE TO CONSIDER There is a 2-day cooling off period after your Kitchen Culture selections appointment and we encourage you to contact the World of Style team by the second day with any changes you require. The final drawings will be provided for your contract appointment. They will include all of the kitchen, bathroom and laundry cabinetry configurations. These drawings will also show the size of the selected sinks, splashback, and appliances for a complete picture, so you can reference the plans and stay excited while the dream is built. Porter Davis will build to the plans provided by Kitchen Culture, as approved by you, so make sure you double (triple) check your plans to ensure there are no misinterpretations of your requests. 7 TOP TIPS Enjoy dreaming, planning and exploring all that is available for you to have the perfect kitchen! The kitchen is the hub and heart of the home. This is where families connect, conversations take place and memories are made. Having an island bench is a great place to bring the family together. It can be used in a casual or formal manner. The kids can sit at the bench doing homework whilst meal preparation is underway, or cooking can become a shared experience, where secret family recipes are revealed or created. The point is the island bench encourages communication and good times! Create a rhythm with placement in order to use the kitchen in a practical way. Think about storage, function and aesthetics. Having a working triangle with your fridge, sink and oven is an important element to using your kitchen the best possible way. Cabinets are a great way to conceal appliances to keep your kitchen looking clean and tidy. Concealing the rangehood to keep clean lines, or integrating your fridge, dishwasher and bin are great ways to keep your kitchen looking simple and stylish. You can make a small place practical without going overboard. There are great storage solutions out there to get the maximum use out of minimal spaces, such as pull out shelves or a moving corner unit. Invest in getting your functional spaces, including your kitchen, bathrooms and laundry, working at optimal efficiency right at the start and increase your everyday enjoyment of the space while adding to your resale value. While it can seem overwhelming to sit down in a kitchen design appointment and make all the relevant decisions, changing your kitchen or bathroom choices and configurations down the track can be a high cost headache, which is why the Kitchen Culture team is here to help you one step at a time! Don t be scared of mixing up finishes! There are lots of options on the market and the Kitchen Culture team will be able to help you create your vision with style and lasting value. For example, use timber textures with polyurethane and glass to create layers, but remember don t go overboard it s all about balance! Visit the World of Style showroom at least 2 3 times before your Kitchen Culture appointment, so you get a good understanding of your options to help with your decision making. Display homes are also a great tool to work out your likes and dislikes. Head out to Porter Davis display homes to see how the kitchen is designed and what the products look like. Take your floorplan on your visits and jot down notes and any requests you have, so you can take Kitchen Culture through this in your appointment. 7
