1 Iceland (16 th Dec 22 nd December 2013) The magic of Iceland can never escape you. This country situated at the edge of the Arctic houses some of the world s most fascinating natural wonders. The most famous of its attractions being the Northern Lights where the sky changes its hue to one you have never seen before. It is also home to some of the most breathtaking lagoons, waterfalls and geysers. Prepare to be awed with the best of wonders that Iceland has in store for you! Day 1: 16 Dec 2013 You arrive in the beautiful country of Iceland, transfer to your hotel and get ready to leave for your first Northern Lights tour. Return for overnight stay to your hotel in Reykjavik, which is the Centerhotel Plaza.

2 Day 2: 17 Dec 2013 After breakfast, depart for your full day tour to the Snaefellsnes peninsula and the Settlement Centre. We leave early to make the most of the short daylight to explore the beauty of Snaefellsjokull glacier and some stunning craters and coastal rock formations along the peninsula. Then drive back towards Reykjavik and visit the Settlement Centre. After two shows at the Settlement Centre and early dinner we will look for the Northern Lights on the way back to Reykjavik (and stop somewhere along the way if they are visible). Day 3: 18 December2013 After breakfast, depart early for a full day tour of Iceland s most popular tourist sites (the Golden Circle): Gullfoss waterfall; Iceland's most famous waterfall that falls 32m (105ft) into a steep-sided canyon, creating a sheer wall of spray; the Great Geysir area after which all the other spouting hot springs in the world are named and Thingvellir national park Iceland s oldest national park, that houses a scenic 84 sq km lake, the geologically significant

3 Almannagjá rift, which is the site of the original Alþing (National Assembly). During the evening, we will start on your second Northern Lights coach tour before returning back to your Reykjavik hotel. Day 4: 19 Dec 2013 After breakfast, Morning Culture & shopping walking tour of Reykjavik. Four hour guided culture walk of Reykjavik city centre, which ends with a complimentary glass of wine (we can also arrange something else for non-drinkers, i.e. coffee, tea or hot chocolate). In the afternoon we go for a whale watching tour. Evening - In the evening there is time for a third chance for the Northern Lights private bus tour (in case of cancellation/no viewing on Days 1

4 & 2). In case we have already had the good fortune to see the NL, we ll have a relaxed chill evening by ourselves. Overnight at your hotel in Reykjavik. Day 5 20th Dec 2013 Drive along the south coast towards the mystical Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon. The drive is very scenic, and you will make short stops at Seljal and sfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, but the highlights are in the southeast where you will enjoy views of the mighty Vatnajokull glacier (the world's largest glacier outside the arctic regions) and the spectacular Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon. We aim for you to be at the lagoon once it is getting dark, so that if you are lucky you can catch the Northern lights dancing over the lagoon. Overnight at a hotel close to Vatnajokull glacier.

5 Day 6 21 December 2013 Drive back to Reykjavik. We will stop mid-way to enjoy a 2 hour glacier walk amid the very special ice formations of Solheimajokull glacier. It is also possible to select a glacier snowmobiling tour instead of the glacier walk at extra costs. Then drive along the south coast to Grindavík village where you will have dinner and stay overnight. Facilities for northern lights viewing are excellent at this hotel. Overnight at a hotel close to the Blue Lagoon.

6 Day 7 22 December 2013 Private transfer from your hotel to the airport. Departure from Iceland. Dressing Suggestions One layer in winter is not enough so in the winter it is better to dress in layers. On the top you can wear: thermal + long sleeves t- shirt + thin sweater + woolen sweater + overcoat Bottom wear: thermal underpants + pants + leg warmers

8 In Iceland you can never be overdressed. So layer up and that way you can always take off a few layers if it is too warm. On the head we would recommend a cap which covers the ears and can be tied, f.e. General Advice: -Warm tops/sweaters - Warm winter coat - Cap, gloves, scarf - Thermal innerwear just in case it gets frosty (or if people do not handle cold well) - Waterproof shoes, the warmer the better - it's best to have snowshoes in case it gets slippery The parts of the tour where the warmest clothing will be needed are the glacier lagoon (the air there is always cold) and when the group goes on the glacier, for the hike or snowmobile.
