7 Official Reasons Official Placing: Cuts: I placed this class of hunting boots for Jake I found my top pair to be very close placing. Placing top in the class, #2, the Rocky had all the important things Jake was looking for. It offered a nylon/ leather combo both being very strong materials. The boots presented the Gore-Tex lining keeping Jake s feet dry on the inside and 600 grams of Thinsulate, which would give him the warmth he needed not knowing if he would be sitting or walking. He was also actually getting a boot that was normally $ on sale for $ This would give him extra money for anything else he needed and he wouldn t have a ton of money stuck in the boots if they didn t fit next year. In the top pair, I place #2 over #1. The price of #2, the Rocky, was just a better buy. Second, the Vibram outsoles of #1 Cabela s, even though considered workhorses are not self cleaning and it could be possible that the fields where they are hunting could be wet and sticky. I do grant that #1, the Cabela s brand did offer the Condura the most popular material for boots and offered just a little more insulation at 800 grams. In the middle pair, #1, the Cabela s brand placed above #4 the Irish Setter, for the price, on sale for $ It also offered the Gore-Tex linings that Jake wanted, not knowing what the Dry Plus was all about and the fact that it did not have the Gore Tex he was looking for. #1 also had more Thinsulate and the more popular Virbram outsoles, understanding that the Ground Claws may be more for steeper slopes. I grant the Irish Setters are in Jake s price range The bottom pair plays out quite easily as #4 the Irish setter is quite comparable boot to #2 the Rocky and #1 Cabela s brand, and within the price range that Jake seeks. #3 the Danner boot does offer many good qualities such as the Airbobs outsoles, full grain leather, Gore-Tex and Thinsulate. Hunting Boots for Jake Official Placement: Cuts:2,2, I fault #3 the Danner boot and place it on the bottom of the class today, even through it is a name brand boot, is just too expensive at $ and with Jake s age, growing out of them quickly could be an issue. For these reasons, I place this class of hunting boots
