3 Presidents Report 2016 Our club has continued to progress with developmental training for coaches and players. Our relationship with Global Image Sports has remained, as they have had a representative from Stoke City return to our club for a second year, continuing to give our players, and players outside of our club the opportunity to advance their training. Our Grassroots program continues to show success with confidence and personal soccer skills, the successful transition into competitive soccer has been noticeable. A huge credit goes to our Grassroots Co-ordinator, junior coaches and the CUFC Technical Team. I would like to thank the members, and the volunteers for their continued support. I would also like to thank our office staff for going above, and beyond the expectations required, in order for our club to function exceptionally. And a special thanks to our players for showing sportsmanship, competitiveness, and exceptional skills, they are the true face of our club. Pat Loria President Chestermere United FC

5 CUFC FUNDRAISING REPORT 2016/17 Fundraising Committee: Alison Bailey, Amiera Rafih, Shawna McDonald (Looking to add one more member) 2016 Fundraising: CUFC Club-wide Bottle Drive: 15 Competitive teams participated in a club-wide bottle drive. Thank you to the Newsy Neighbor for supplying the community maps. An amazing $ was raised. This is a fairly easily run fundraiser and is great for team bonding. 2016/17 Fundraising: Fundraising initiatives for 2016/17 will include: Scratch Cards: Individuals pick a box with a team, once all boxes are completed then the top portion is scratched and reveals the winning team. This is similar to a 50/50 draw with 50% going to the winner and 50% going back to the team. Teams can use the funds to offset tournament fees, purchase club gear, etc. Bottle Drive: The success of our previous bottle drive has encouraged us to continue with this type of fundraiser. Date to be confirmed. Raffle Tickets: This type of fundraising is very successful and requires an intense licensing process through ALGC. We will be acquiring the appropriate license for Raffles over $ Initial thoughts are to sell only 350 tickets at $100 each with prizes ranging from: trips, cash, electronics, ticket purchase refunded, etc. Casino: ALGC (Alberta Liquor and Gaming Commission) has advised that our next Casino will be mid We will be requiring volunteers for this event. A Casino manager will be appointed as required by ALGC. Details to follow.
6 Annual General Meeting 2016 Executive Director Report. CUFC continues with strength & determination to make our Club infrastructure and player development programs one of the best in Alberta. Over the past 12 months we have been working very hard to produce the new CUFC Bylaws, which documents all the Club rules and regulations along with all the pertinent Club information for Alberta Societies. We have continued to write new and amend club policies and procedures so that we continue to be one of the most progressive and pro-active Clubs in Calgary when it comes to Player Welfare. All our current documents are posted on our website. Our Club Website was hacked back in early 2016 and we worked tirelessly to get it back on line without affecting the Club. We also took the opportunity to re-write and re-format many components of the website. This process is still ongoing with our next task to make the site more Mobile platform friendly. Throughout 2015/16, Chestermere United FC has seen more growth in player numbers per annum. Outdoor Players Indoor 2014/ players Outdoor players Indoor 2015/ players Outdoor players We continue to emphasize Long Term Player Development, with our training programs focussing on producing complete players who love the game of soccer. Our new format Academy program was a huge success in outdoor 2016 with over 40 players learning new skills with speed, agility & quickness training with the ball being the focus. Our outdoor Grassroots Program is still very popular with 273 players aged from 4 to 11 years old playing in either our own House League or the District league. We started our own indoor House League in the winter of 2015/16, which had 135# players register for its inaugural season. My thanks goes to Jason Smith, Grassroots Coordinator and our staff of Junior Coaches for making the program a huge success, In order for the club to focus on Long Term Player Development, it is extremely important to have knowledgeable coaches, who are dedicated to helping the players learn and enjoy the game of soccer. To this end, we continued to educate our coaches through in house coaching clinics and an NCCP Soccer for Life course that we ran in in Chestermere in the summer, which trained 12 coaches. My personal thanks goes to Coach Victor Salas, Assistant Director of Coaching, for all his hard work over the past year. Victor has travelled to the USA to take his National Diploma in Soccer Coaching with the NSCAA which he passes with distinction. My sincere thanks goes to all the coaches and volunteers who continue to ensure the standards of our club are maintained and strive to improve the standards and enjoyment of all our players along with the CUFC Board, without whom we could not operate.
