4 MOAEC Installation - Minimum Requirements Minimum Requirements The MOAEC Software uses MPEG Layer 3 (12/1 Compression-Decompression) Technology developed by Fraunhofer IIS-A in Germany. The MPEG Layer 3 Technology allows audio songs to be compressed 12 times smaller than their original size. This compression allows for increased music or song storage on your computers hard drive without any loss in music clarity. The ratio is approximately one million characters of disk drive storage (~1 megabyte) required for each minute of MP3 music stored on your computer. Hardware/Software Requirements Hard Disk Drive Music Storage Approximately 1 Mb of free disk storage required for each MP3 music minute. Example: To store 16 songs in MP3 format, each with a playing time of approximately 3 minutes, would require 48 Mb of free hard disk drive storage.. CPU Memory Operating System Internet Connection Hard Drive Hard Drive CD Burning Note Note 1 GHz Pentium P3 or Equivalent (>1.5 Ghz Preferred) 256 SDRAM (512 Preferred) Windows 2000/XP (XP Preferred) Explorer 4.0 or Greater, Cable, DSL (Cable, DSL Preferred) 30 MB for MOAEC Software 3 MB Per Song (Average Storage =300 Songs/Gig) 8X CDRW (>8X Preferred) 16-32X CDRW Requires 1.5 Ghz CPU, 40-52X CDRW Requires 512 Ram & 2.0 Ghz CPU 7200 RPM Hard Drive Recommended Installation of the MOAEC can be done either by CD or Internet download from For CD Installation; 1. Launch Windows 2. From the Windows 98/2000/XP Start Menu, select Run 3. In the command line, enter D: Setup and click OK. If your CD-ROM drive is not designated as drive D, substitute the appropriate drive letter to identify the CD-ROM drive. 4. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the installation process. For Internet download Install; 1. Using your Internet browser, connect to and download the product to your computer. 2. From the area of your computer where the product was downloaded to, open the self-extracting executable file to begin the installation. 3. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the installation process. Great, now that you have it installed, what are the next steps? 5 Importing & Organizing Music There are 2 ways to import music into MOAEC. If you have existing MP3 files on your system you can import them as is. If you have audio CDs, MOAEC can import them into your computer performing the necessary encoding process to allow them to be stored in MP3 format. Just click on the MOAEC Menu, go down to Import & Categorize Music, and choose whether you will be importing from MP3 files or audio CDs. MP3 Music Importer If you already have MP3 music residing on your system, follow these simple steps. From the MOAEC Menu, click on Import Music, Import MP3 File, click the Select button on the right hand side and locate where the MP3 music files are stored. Once you have located them, click on the white box to the left of the song tile and check the one(s) you want to import. The next step is to verify that the performing artist, track title, category, etc. are correct. If you would like to make a change you can double click in any of the areas and edit the information. After confirming the artist, song title and category are accurate and the whole file is to be imported, click the Finish button. The MOAEC will automatically import and categorize the song, also calculating music style, dance type and music speed. You can click continue and repeat this process as many times as necessary to import your digital files/songs. MOAEC V4.0 Program Documentation Page 5 of Looney Productions, LLC

6 Audio CD Music Importer Audio CDs require a different process but are no less intuitive to work with. Insert a music CD in your CD-ROM drive and select the audio CD importer function. If connected to the Internet, MOAEC will automatically link up to the Gracenote site (formerly CDDB Music Recognition Service the current industry standard) and obtain artist, track, category, etc. information for the CD you are about to import. This Internet connectivity feature can be turned on and off as you desire. Make sure to check the songs you want to import and then click the Next button. At this time all the artist and track information from the Gracenote web site (i.e. CDDB) related to the selection(s) you made will have been filled in. MOAEC V4.0 Program Documentation Page 6 of Looney Productions, LLC

7 Loading Music (Without Importing & Categorizing) You can also load MP3 music that is currently on your hard drive directly into the Music Play List WITHOUT importing and organizing the music. Click the LOAD Button underneath the Music Play List or click on the MOAEC Menu and then click Load. Searching Music To search your music select the Search Music Button located underneath the Music Categories, then click on the Song Title, Artist, Date, Music Category, Music Style, Dance Type, Music Speed or Energy Button. Enter the information you would like to search for and click Search or Enter key on the keypad. The MOAEC will automatically search the entire MOAEC database and place all music in the search area window. * You may also click on add songs to the play list, by doing so, anything you search will be added to the playlist. After you click the Search button, use the scroll bar on the right side of the search area to search up or down. You can also click on any of the gray title bars in the Search Area to organize the music in Ascending or Descending order. The song would be the second song in que to play. Play will immediately replace the current song playing with the song selected. Double Clicking on any song in the search area will also place that song as the last song to be played in the Play List. Organizing And Locating Music After music is placed in the Search Area window you can Organize and Narrow the music to find your favorite song(s). To organize and locate a specific song(s), after the music is in the Search Area, select the Narrow Search Button, then input a Keyword, Song Title, Artist, Date, Music Category, Music Style, Dance Type, Music Speed or Energy Button. Select Search or Enter key on the keyboard. All songs in the search area window will be narrowed down to the keyword/song/category etc. you chose and will be listed in the Search Area. *You can also left click on any song in the search area and then right click to play, edit or delete the song. Playing Music Now that your music is loaded in the system, how do you play it? One easy way is to click on the category buttons in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. This will display all the songs associated with that category in the search window at the bottom. You can double click, click/highlight & press the next or add button or drag and drop the song(s) you want to listen to into the play list. Click Play and start enjoying your music. By adding songs to the play list window, you will create a customized play list that can be saved and retrieved for later use. This is done by using the Save button. This feature is a great way to enjoy your personalized music selections in the future without having to recreate them. *You can also left click on any song in the search area and then right click to play, edit or delete the song. * After clicking and highlighting a song in the search area you can also use the shift and arrow keys to add multiple songs to the play list. Advanced Features Notice the special group of rainbow buttons in the middle of screen: MOAEC V4.0 Program Documentation Page 7 of Looney Productions, LLC

8 These are just some of the unique features of MOAEC that puts it ahead of every other MP3 player on the market today. You will now be able to use the information you loaded during the importing music process in a variety of exciting ways. Favorites MOAEC gives you the opportunity to flag any song as a favorite and play it back instantly. There are no restrictions to the number of songs you can designate as favorites. To flag a favorite song, simply click on the white box to the left of the artist category in the play list or search area. Clicking on the Favorites button will bring up all the songs flagged as favorites directly into the search area. If there is no music in the play list, and you have not highlighted any songs in the search area, hitting the Play button brings up 60 minutes of randomly selected favorite music into the play list and begins playing the music. You can also click and highlight any song in the search area, press play and the song will play immediately. Upbeat, Mellow, and Easy The Upbeat, Mellow and Easy Mood Buttons provide great flexibility when you are trying to create an atmosphere or mood. Clicking on Upbeat, Mellow or Easy buttons will bring up all the songs categorized as Upbeat, Mellow or Easy Listening directly into the search area. You can also click and highlight any song in the search area; press play and the song will play immediately. Dance Mix Dance Mix randomly brings up 3 fast and 2 slow songs from your music library and adds them to your play list. The Dance Mix Button will create a dancing atmosphere for as long as you like when used with the Time Button. Clicking on Dance Mix will bring up the songs categorized as fast and slow directly into the search area. If there is no music in the play list, and you have not highlighted any songs in the search area, hitting the Play button brings up 60 minutes of randomly selected 3 fast and 2 slow songs into the play list and begins playing the music. You can also click and highlight any song in the search area, press play and the song will play immediately. Fast, Medium, Slow and Energy Clicking on any music category and then clicking on Fast, Medium, Slow or Energy buttons will search only songs with the requested tempo or energy field in the selected category. These buttons help create and exciting or relaxing atmosphere in seconds for as long as you like when used with the Time or Play Button. The Dance Mix button is limited to the amount of fast and slow songs located in your database. Time Time is a great feature if you looking to fill up the play list for a specific time period. Time chooses songs from a selected category. Select a category, mood or speed button and an amount of time and the MOAEC will randomly select songs to fill up the time you specified. Helpful Hint- Right click on any songs in the search area or play list to edit them. By doing so you may edit/change Music Style, Dance Type, Music Speed and Energy. Now use the music categories, favorites, mood, speed and time buttons in combination with the mixer on and fader on buttons to create a relaxing or exciting atmosphere in seconds. 9 Creating, Saving & Playing Favorite Hits Another exciting feature of the MOAEC is creating and saving any and all of your favorite hits in seconds! After you are finished placing your favorite songs in the music play list, click the SAVE Button. Type in a name for the favorite play list you want to create and all the songs in the music play list will be saved. To play for your favorite play list, click on the LOAD button, click on your favorite playlist, click open and play. Creating And Burning Custom Audio CD s The fun keeps on going. You can create and burn a custom audio cd from your favorite hits that you have saved. Go to the MOAEC Menu, click on JUMP TO, Audio CD Creator. Click and highlight a favorite play list file, then drag and drop the file to the white area in the lower half of the screen. Your playlist will automatically show up where you will be able to edit and delete songs. Click on Burn CD on the upper task bar. Insert a high quality blank music CD and then click write. Within minutes you will have a custom audio CD of all your favorite hits. Storing Music One of the features that make MOAEC so easy to use is the ability to categorize your music. You can put all your songs from a genre or time period in one location for easy access. Everything about the categories is customizable from font, to color, to name and even order of appearance. Simply right click on any category to bring up a new menu and add new categories, modify existing ones or rearrange the category order. Adding/Changing/Arranging/Deleting A Music Category The Add Category or Change Category screens are nearly identical, with the only difference being the name in the Button Label field. Whatever you put into the Button Label field will be the title of the category when you see it in the Category Field. Be as descriptive as you like, it will make it that much easier to find your music later on. You can change the color with the Button Color button. This allows you to pick any color you want for the button to help differentiate it from the other categories. Change Font allows you to customize the look of the Button Label by changing the font. Hit Save Changes and you are all set to enjoy your new category. Another unique MOAEC option available is the re-arranging of the categories. If there is a check in the box on the right of the category name, that category will be visible in the Category Area. You can hide a music category by unchecking the box. Just highlight the category that you want to move, and then use the Move to Top, Move Up, Move Down, or Move to Bottom buttons to move the category where you want it to be. This will change the order that they appear in the main Category Area in the main screen. You can also delete unwanted categories from the Category Area. Just highlight the unwanted category and click on the Delete button, a word of warning though, once deleted, you will have to create it again if you end up changing your mind. Helpful Hint- Use the category options to organize and customize your music exactly the way you want it. Right Clicking on any category allows you all the same functionality as the above instructions.. MOAEC V4.0 Program Documentation Page 9 of Looney Productions, LLC
