13 Star Faculty Search The University of Texas System (UT System) launched The Rio Grande Valley Initiative in January 2012, a program to identify and implement ambitious and wide ranging education and research initiatives in the Rio Grande Valley. The UT System s objective is to address the needs of the LRGV for improved access to high quality education programs, which will ultimately expand existing capacities, provide jobs, reduce poverty and enrich lives.
