2 Here s the fine print * Cuesta College provides educational opportunities to train for a new career, progress on a career ladder or complete transfer courses applicable to a four year degree. Cuesta offers many non-credit, Emeritus (older adult), and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses that can provide additional skills and life enriching experiences. The purpose of this quick start guide for registration is to provide students with an easy way to get started at Cuesta College. Use this guide when you are online to navigate through the steps of application, registration and class selection in mycuesta. The quick start guide also contains important phone numbers, campus locations and web resources that you may need during the application and registration process. *The quick start guide is not intended to replace the class schedule or catalog which is available both online and in print. 6 step 4 step 5 = assessment testing The purpose of assessment is to provide students with information regarding their current skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. Assessment results give students information that will help them choose classes that fit their individual abilities - allowing them to enroll in classes in which they can be successful. 8 REGISTRATION step 7 = Register for classes There are two ways to register: Online: It s easy to apply and register online. The process starts here (see below) In person: You can register in person during walk-in registration scheduled the week prior to the start of school at the San Luis Obispo or North County campuses. Find Classes: search for classes Register (Add/Drop Classes) Note: Once you are in the Add/Drop section of mycuesta it will take you through a process that is not accessible through the links shown the screen picture above. Find Classes You can use the intelligent mycuesta class finder or you can find classes the old-fashioned way using the printed schedule. Dropping classes: It is the student s responsibility to officially drop or withdraw from classes. Register (Add/Drop Classes) Fees or Account Detail Tuition is only $20 per unit for residents. Additional fees, including material fees, health, student representation, Student Center, ASCC Student ID Card and parking fees may apply. Payment Register (Add/Drop Classes) Students may pay fees, purchase parking permits or RTA discount passes, pay parking citations, obtain and file refund forms, and handle other student accounts at the Cashier s Office at the San Luis Obispo and North County campuses. Payments of check or money order may be mailed to Cuesta s Cashier s Office, P.O. Box 8106, San Luis Obispo, CA The student ID number must be submitted with the payment. A credit card must be used when registering online.
