1 1 1. Choose a preset. EASY VIDEO EDITING WITH ADOBE PREMIERE 6.5. Use this preset for your PAL camera. 2. Set your Scratch Disk. 1. Make sure you set your Scratch Disk. Everything you capture will go here.

2 2 2. Decide where you want to store all your footage by choosing Select 3. Choose the folder you want. 4. Or make a new folder. 3. Capture your footage. 1. Choose Movie Capture to put footage on your hard drive. 2. Press Play to start the camera. Make sure the camera is in Play/Edit or VCR mode. 3. Press Record to start capturing. 4. Press Stop to stop capturing.

3 3 4. Drag your video file into the timeline. Left click, hold on the mouse button, and drag into Video 1A or 1B. You will see it appear in Video 1A, with the audio in Audio If you want to add audio. 1. Right click in the Project Bin and choose Import -> File.

4 4 2. Choose the MP3 (or other audio file) you want. 3. Drag the MP3 file from the Project Bin into an audio channel, like Audio If you want to delete the audio but keep the video (delinking). 1. Choose the Delink tool. 2. Click on the video channel you wish to delink. 3. Click on the audio track linked to the video track

5 5 4. The audio track will now turn blue; simply press delete if you want to remove it. 7. Changing the volume of the audio. 1. Right click on the audio track you wish to adjust the volume of and choose Audio Options -> Audio Gain. 2. Choose the appropriate %; <100 makes it quieter, >100 makes it louder. 3. Choose OK.

6 6 8. Adding a title. 1. Choose File->New->Title. 2. Click on where you wish to write your text and type it. 3. Change the Font, Font size, or Color, if you wish. 4. Save the file. 5. Close the title designer.

7 7 6. Drag the title file into the video 2 or above in the timeline. 7. Put it in the right place and for the right time. 9. Changing the length of the video or the audio using the selection tool. 1. Left click on the selection tool. 2. Bring your mouse to the end or beginning of the video file you wish to change. 3. Left click on the mouse and drag the point to the new position.

8 8 10. Changing the length of the video or the audio using the razor tool. 1. Left click on the razor tool. 2. Place the razor tool on the frame that you wish to make the cut and left click. 11. Adding transitions. 1. Choose the transition you want. 2. Drag it into the Transitions channel between two overlapping video tracks.

9 9 12. Fading audio or video in and out. 1. Choose the Selection Tool. 2. Click on the triangle to expand the track and view the rubberbands. 3. Left click on the red line (the rubberband ) to mark the point where you want the fade to end (for a fade-in) or start (for a fade-out). 4. Pull the start or end down to the bottom. Note that this is the same idea for video or audio, but it will only work on video in Video 2 or above channels.

10 Adding more video or audio tracks. Click on Timeline-> and choose Add Video Track or Add Audio Track. 14. Moving Multiple Video Tracks in the Timeline. 1. Choose the MultiTrack Select tool. 2. Drag all the tracks to the area you want.

11 Changing the size of location of a video track on your video frame. 1. Open the Distort menu and choose Transform. 2. Drag the Transform effect on each video track you wish to apply it to. 4. Enable the Transparency effect. 3. Change the scale height and width to a different % and change the Position to a different (x,y) location. Double click to change. 5. Choose on Alpha Channel on the Transparency effect.

12 Making video appear in slow or fast motion or backwards. 1. Select the clip you wish to change the speed of by left clicking on it. 2. Choose Clip->Speed. 3. Choose a different rate; >100% will speed it up, <100% will slow it down. If you choose 100%, the clip will play backwards. 17. Changing the background color. 1. Choose File->New->Color Matte.

13 13 3. Give the color a name and press OK. 2. Choose a color you like and press OK. Drag the new Color Matte into the timeline under the files that you want to have the background under. NOTE: This can only be done in Video 2 or above, and only if the files over the background are in the Alpha Channel (see 15.5). 18. Adding Motion to a Clip. 1. Select the clip you wish to add motion to in the timeline and then choose Motion.

14 14 2. Choose the Start and End points of the motion you wish to create, and press OK. 19. Exporting your completed Timeline. 1. Choose File -> Export Timeline->Movie. 2. Give the movie a name and press Save.

15 Exporting for the Web. 1. Choose File->Export Timeline- >Advanced Windows Media. 2. Choose this option and press OK.
