7 2 Dimensional Texture Project: Demonstrate your understanding of texture and form by creating a 2D drawing. Elements and Principles of Art, FA 614 Instructions: Create a design using three letters or numbers as shapes. The design should incorporate the letters or numbers in a creative, visually pleasing way. Your background size: no smaller than 5" x 5" and no larger than about 6" x 9". Next, add at least three values ( three areas of light, dark, and in between) using simulated textures using pen and ink to create those textures and values. Cover all space with texture-value shapes. 13 Found Object Sculpture Project: Demonstrate your understanding of texture and form by creating a sculpture from found objects. Instructions: 1. Choose a form, then a texture. Some examples are listed below. 2. Then, collect objects from around the house, yard, or school to build your sculpture. Keep in mind that the objects you choose should reflect your form and texture chosen. For example, geometric objects tend to create better geometric forms, whereas organic objects tend to create better organic forms. Whatever objects you choose should be able to be glued with Elmer s glue or glue gun, or easily mechanically fastened with your own tools. 3. Assemble your sculpture. Maximum size: 12 x Paint your sculpture one color to create unity within the work.
