8 STEAM AHEAD is an integrated project-based curriculum incorporating more science, technology, engineering, art, and math into students everyday learning through play. STEAM AHEAD provides students with opportunities to be innovative, creative, and inventive as they build strong foundations in five core areas of their education. STEAM AHEAD activities and projects are hands-on and bring together many facets of what students find interesting in a way that impacts educational AH HA moments.
9 The first five years of life are crucial for your child s brain development. Your choice of their learning environment has a tremendous impact. At birth, your child s brain is remarkably unfinished with most of the 100 billion neurons not yet connected in networks. Forming and reinforcing these connections are the key tasks of early brain development and the specific focus of our exclusive Brain Waves curriculum. Research has found that significant connections are either developed by the age of five or lost. Kids R Kids Learning Academies provides the program that plays a crucial role of wiring a young child s brain.

13 Classroom Management We teach in small groups Teach within learning stations Provide one-on-one assessments Behavior Management Filling a Bucket Everyone carries an invisible bucket that holds our good thoughts and feelings. When our buckets are full, we feel happy and when our buckets are empty, we feel sad. Children quickly understand that they can fill buckets when they do and say things that are kind, considerate, caring, and respectful. They also learn that when they are mean, inconsiderate, uncaring, or disrespectful, they dip into buckets and remove those good feelings. Even the youngest child understands that actions and words can either fill a bucket or dip into it.
