3 Introducing mobile loyalty cards What are mobile loyalty cards? This Textlocal service gives you the ability to create your own fully branded loyalty cards as a mobile page which can be sent out via a text message, directly or as an automa?c response from an opt- in SMS. It will contain a unique code, bar code and/or QR code which can be scanned mul?ple?mes, with built in alerts for rules & rewards. This means that your customers can safely store their loyalty cards on their mobile phones and scan them on each purchase, visit or order, making sure that your customers stay loyal to you. What makes them different to mobile vouchers or >ckets? Our loyalty cards unlike our vouchers and?ckets are for mul?ple use! Each scan is tracked. This allows you to reward your most loyal customers. In a nutshell, how do they work? Create and design the mobile loyalty card in your Messenger account Include a unique code for each recipient, including an op?onal bar code or QR Code, plus any images and branding you wish Select who you want to send it to Send out your text campaign as normal Redeem loyalty cards by entering the unique code in your Messenger account or scanning the bar code or QR code via the App Why mobile? No equipment or sonware is needed, all you need is your Messenger account for crea?on of your cards and a mobile phone for redemp?on Paper cards and vouchers can be misplaced, but you can be sure that your customers will be drawn to your business knowing that their loyalty card is stored safely on their mobile phone and readily available. 3

5 Crea>ng your loyalty card You can enter an expiry date for your loyalty card. This helps you maintain strict terms and condi>ons of usage for any offers and promo>ons you run. Select this loyalty card on the create new tab. Give your mobile voucher a name and set an expiry date if you wish. 5
6 Crea>ng your loyalty card STEP ONE - CHOOSE YOUR PROCESS Select if you want to send your loyalty card unique code to your exis?ng database (op?on 1) or as an automa?c response for one of your inbound numbers where a link is automa?cally sent back containing the unique code (op?on 2). The link enables customers to download Passbook/Passwallet version directly to their iphone or Android. If you use op>on 2, remember this is a great way to build your opt- in database to target with specialised offers at a later date Don t forget if you get stuck, tool >ps are available to guide you. Just search for the? If you have already created your own unique codes, select Use this and I have my own codes and follow the instruc?ons. If you do not have your own codes, click use this op?on and easily create unique codes with millions of permuta?ons in a few steps?me. STEP TWO - CHOOSE YOUR CONTACTS If you ve chosen op>on 1: Choose the contact group you want to send your card to, or select create a new group and upload your contacts as normal. Selec?ng the contacts at this stage means that the system knows who to allocate the unique codes to as it generates them. If you ve chosen op>ons 2: Choose the contact group you want to send your card to. You can create a new group here. 6
7 Shorter codes are easiest if you ll be redeeming them manually STEP THREE: DEFINE YOUR UNIQUE LOYALTY CARD CODE FORMAT You are able to do this by including: Numbers LeUers Code prefix Code suffix Code length Messenger will give you an example of what your code looks like and how many permuta?ons are available (it s billions!) This unique code will appear on the text messages you send....or Textlocal can choose a code for you! STEP FOUR: DEFINE YOUR CUSTOM FIELDS Select what custom field you would like to save the unique codes to. If you are sending a brand new loyalty card make sure you choose to override any exis?ng codes. If you have previously started and want to return to your loyalty card you can jump to the edi>ng sec>on clicking the small arrow 7
8 Customising your mobile loyalty card STEP FIVE: CUSTOMISE YOUR MOBILE LOYALTY CARD WEB PAGE The len hand side of your screen will show a preview of what your loyalty card looks like. On this page you will choose: Your redemp?on methods passbook, QR code and barcode Page content?tle, text, footer, logos, merge fields and colour scheme Enter your page?tle ü Don t forget you can include all this in your loyalty cards: o Short links o Insert merge fields o Aiachments o Surveys Enter your logo here Enter addi?onal text here The unique code will shown here by default Select if you want to include a QR code And/ or a bar code And/ or a Passbook/ Pass Wallet op?on 8
9 If you have chosen to include a passbook, you will be prompted to create a new one or duplicate/edit an exis>ng one STEP SIX: DESIGN/EDIT YOUR PASSBOOK TEMPLATE Here you can either edit and duplicate an exis?ng passbook template or design a brand new passbook template. What is Passbook? ü Why include a Passbook or Pass Wallet? Customers can save to their phone for a later date and don t have to search through their text messages Professional and smart look for your business Reduces the struggle to find Wi- Fi while out and about ü The phone displayed to the right shows a preview of what your Passbook loyalty card could look like. Here you can choose your background and font colours Add your logo Choose your voucher content Insert merge fields 9
10 SeAng up your rules and rewards Schedule an SMS for a few hours aner a scan to gather feedback using our survey tool STEP SEVEN MAKING THE RULES When redeeming any kind of loyalty card, Messenger will no?fy you straight away if the voucher is valid and how many?mes it has been redeemed. You can also set up rules for ac?ons to happen at a certain number of scans. Whatever you choose to offer your customers when they scan, there s a range of ac?ons Messenger can perform: ü Display a message on screen with instruc?ons of the reward ü Send a text, either to the card holder or to any other number you specify ü Send an ü Hook into your systems with a URL call ü QR codes and barcodes can be included in any outgoing message The system is flexible to your requirements, so you can set up rewards for an infinite number of scans, or choose to have the rules repeat aner X amount of scans. 10
11 Addi>onal set up If you re sending your loyalty card out as an auto responder, next you need to set up the auto response for your inbound number. Set up: ü Auto text response ü Forwarding ü Forwarding to a URL ü Forward to a number 11
12 Redeeming your card There are a number of ways a loyalty card can be redeemed. They are: Via Messenger App Through your own EPoS sytem MESSENGER REDEMPTION In the Tickets menu op?on, select Redeem Ticket and then enter the loyalty card code. The screen will display any messages you ve included to be shown at this point, as well as details about the scan and the customer. 12
13 If the loyalty card is invalid, an error message will occur, so you can be sure you re only giving loyalty scheme rewards to valid customers MESSENGER APP REDEMPTION If you use the Messenger app to redeem, you can either scan the QR code and/or barcode on the loyalty card, or enter the code manually. If you ve set up a display message for this scan, this will pop up on screen now. As well as this, the app will confirm that the loyalty card was scanned successfully and let you know how many?mes it has been redeemed. Download the app here by scanning the QR codes 13
14 Repor>ng In Messenger, you can see reports on loyalty card scans. The codes will be grouped together showing the most recent scan first. You can also search for codes that have been scanned and specify a date range in which to search. You can export the data for further analysis if required. This data will include the number of?mes each loyalty card has been validated and the?me & date of the most recent valida?on.
