3 Pebble+: Action Plan Use for: planning actions to achieve your goals Add new > Plan > Action Plan An asset which documents an action plan and any related reflections, which can now be attached to a webfolio, for example as part of a wider collection of assets. Use this particular template to help you create an Action Plan. There are various fields including overall aim, current situation and steps to success.
4 Pebble+: Activity Log Use for: Adding your activities Go to PebblePad > Design New > Activity Log A log of activities that the user has chosen to evidence. These may be accompanied by links to other types of evidence (e.g. videos) The Activity Log allows users to aggregate assets relevant to a particular project or endeavour and is often used to demonstrate activity over a given time span. Any asset can be added to an Activity Log
5 Pebble+: Asset Banner Use for: Change the look and feel of an asset Do more button > Asset Banners A range of default banner designs that you can choose from to change the look and feel of any Asset, Template or Workbook To view the different banner options you need to click on the banner at the top while in Edit mode and drag it to the left or right. Once you have found the banner that you want to use you need to save the asset to apply it.
6 Pebble+: Asset Tabs Use for: Viewing asset feedback, comments, links & information All assets have one or more tabs pinned to the right-hand side- they can be found within each Asset. Depending on the tab selected, you can view all comments or feedback associated with an asset or you can access information about when an asset was created and by whom. There are a range of Asset Tabs, which you can use to do different things. For example: information, comments, feedback and links.
7 Pebble+: Assets Use for: Any items created or uploaded to your portfolio Go to PebblePad > View > Assets The Asset Store lists all the assets you have created, those that others have shared with you and those that individuals are collaborating with you on. It is like a repository. Everything you create or upload in Pebble+ is known as an assets. This is kept in your Asset Store. These are the records of your learning, achievements or aspirations, that may be shared with others.
8 Pebble+: Asset Editing & Preview Use for: Accessing editing & preview options for assets These are available in the right of the top toolbar of any asset in edit or preview mode. This allows access to editing and previewing options. Depending on what you select, you can make changes to assets, preview the asset, save or close the asset. You can use this tool to edit, preview, save and close asssets.
9 Pebble+: Blog Use for: Maintaining a blog Go to PebblePad > Design New > Blog A chronological online diary that can only be viewed by the person who creates it, unless they choose to share it with one or more others. Blogs are perfect for recording any time based or on-going activity such as a project or a placement. Blogs are made up of posts or other records and these are displayed in chronological order.
10 Pebble+: Collection Use for: Maintaining a collection of portfolio items Go to PebblePad > Design New > Collection A single page list of assets brought together based on specific search criteria, for example, tags, keywords or date range. A Collection is a list of assets brought together based on specific search criteria, for example, tags, keywords or date range. Over time, as you add new assets to your Pebble+ store which fit within the defined criteria they are automatically added to the Collection.
11 Pebble+: Contacts Use for: Creating a list of people to hare your assets with Go to PebblePad > View > Contacts Contacts details for people from within your organisation who have PebblePad accounts or external people who do not have PebblePad accounts. Useful for sharing your assets. To share an asset or template the recipient must be added to your Contact Manager. Contacts can be added by searching for a contact from within the organisation or by adding an external contact using their name and address.
12 Pebble+: Customise appearance Use for: Customising the look and feel of your portfolio Go to Tools & Resources and select Customise Appearance. This will open a Theme Builder that enables you create your custom interface. You can personalise your Pebble + by choosing your own image for the interface and changing the background and menu bar colours to match. Any image that you would like to add to the Pebble + interface first needs to be uploaded into your Asset Store. You can choose 2 options to display the images- either fill the page or anchor the image (i.e. place the image in a specific part of the screen)
13 Pebble+: Customise Banners Use for: Customising banners in your portfolio Under Tools & Resources select Customise Banners. This opens the Custom Banner Builder. You can create your own custom banners for any Pebble + asset or resource. Click on Select a Banner Image and a mini Asset Store opens showing just your uploaded images. Any image that you would like to use in a custom banner first needs to be uploaded into your Asset Store. Select the image that you want to use and click Confirm. This image will then appear in the Banner Builder.
14 Pebble+: CV - Academic Use for: Adding academic CV information Go to PebblePad > Add New > CV Items > CV Academic An electronic academic CV containing details the students choose to include. This is available as a PebblePad asset. The CV tool allows students to create a CV by drawing upon information already entered into PebblePad. The CV content is customisable; students can include academic CV information including: languages; publications; qualifications.
15 Pebble+: CV - Personal Use for: Adding personal CV information Go to PebblePad > Add New > CV Items > CV Personal An electronic personal CV containing details the students choose to include. This is available as a PebblePad asset. The CV tool allows students to create a CV by drawing upon information already entered into PebblePad. The CV content is customisable; students can include personal CV information including: calling card; belief or value; hobby or interest; personal statement.
16 Pebble+: CV - Professional Use for: Adding professional CV information Go to PebblePad > Add New > CV Items > CV Professional An electronic professional CV containing details the students choose to include. This is available as a PebblePad asset. The CV tool allows students to create a CV by drawing upon information already entered into PebblePad. The CV content is customisable; students can include professional CV information including: accolade; affiliation; employment; referee; role.
17 Pebble+: Do More Button Use for: Share and send your asset to others The Do More button is located in the left of the top toolbar in any asset in edit or preview mode. The Do More Button enables you to share your asset with others, send it to different places, and add links. Clicking on the Do More button will open a menu that gives you a number of options: share, submit, add to, link and print.
18 Pebble+: Experience Use for: Reflecting on your experiences From the Add New menu you will see Experience An asset which documents your experiences and any related reflections, which can now be attached to a webfolio, for example as part of a wider collection of assets. Use this particular template to help you record your experiences. There are 3 templates available: Activity Meeting Experience
19 Pebble+: File Use for: Uploading files Go to PebblePad > Add New > File A file that can be embedded into another asset like a folio page or blog The file tool allows individuals to upload files from their computer into Pebble+. This is useful for uploading evidence such as copies of certificates, videos and other electronic files, to demonstrate skills or competence, for example.
20 Pebble+: Folio Page Use for: A single page of assets Go to PebblePad > Design New > Folio Page A multiple page list of assets brought together on a single page of evidence. A Folio Page is a single page, evidence-based website, used to present stories about your activities, learning, personal profile, or any other number of topics. A Folio Page can contain a range of elements, including images and videos. It can also contain links to other assets within your personal store or to external items on the Internet.
21 Pebble+: Formatting Toolbar Use for: Adding formatting and creating links within your assets Within any asset, to access the toolbar highlight the text you wish to format or link from. The toolbar will then appear to allow you to format the text or add links. Whenever you enter text into a template you can add formatting or create links via the formatting toolbar. You can use this to format text within any asset. The usual editing options are available: bold, italic, font colour, etc.
22 Pebble+: Journal Entry Use for: Maintaining an online diary Add new > Reflection > Journal Entry An asset taking the form of a journal entry containing any related reflections, which can now be attached to a webfolio, for example as part of a wider collection of assets. Use this particular template to help you create a Journal Entry. There are various fields including title, about this entry and reflection.
23 Pebble+: Meeting Use for: Recording details of meetings and related reflections Add new > Experience > Meeting An asset taking the form of a meeting record containing any related reflections, which can now be attached to a webfolio, for example as part of a wider collection of assets. Use this particular template to help you create a record of Meeting experiences. There are various fields including about this meeting, outcomes and actions.
24 Pebble+: Message Centre Use as: A central place to access messages Go to PebblePad > View > Messages Notifications and information about shared assets, comments or feedback added to work or confirmation of submission to a workspace The Message Centre is a central place to access messages that are generated by Pebble+ and ATLAS. These messages are related to your activities such as receiving a share, receiving comments on an asset you have shared, or confirmation that your work has been successfully submitted to a Workspace.
25 Pebble+: My Details Use for: Your personal details Go to PebblePad > View > My Details A facility in PebblePad which records your personal details. My details provides you with the option to add personal details to your Pebble+, including profile image, name, address, contact details, and personal information. You can have multiple entries under each category. To add information click on Add new and complete the relevant details.
26 Pebble+: Notifications Use for: Reminders & messages Go to PebblePad > Settings > Notifications A bespoke list of notifications and messages From then Settings menu select Notifications and a new window will open allowing you to set preferences for how you receive your notifications.
27 Pebble+: Plan Use for: Planning actions to achieve your goals Go to PebblePad > Add New > Plan > Action Plan A formatted action plan single asset containing details the students choose to include as part of the plan. This is available as a PebblePad asset. The action plan is a type of template containing a series of categories, in which you can enter relevant information, e.g. Title, Overall Aim, Current Situation, Steps to Success, Deadline, SWOT Analysis, Supporting Resources and Reflection
28 Pebble+: Post Use for: Recording relevant information Go to PebblePad > Add New > Post An item (post) file that can be embedded into another PebblePad asset like a folio page or blog, to become part of a collection of other posts, for example. Use this tool to create an item anything from a simple thought containing a short textual snapshot through to a rich record including video or images can be added.
29 Pebble+: Reflection Use for: Recording a stand-alone reflection Go to PebblePad > Add New > Reflection A formatted content item demonstrating a reflection. This is available as a PebblePad asset. Reflection is a type of asset, containing a number of templates, including journal entry, structured reflection and what, so what, how what?. You can use these templates to create an asset within PebblePad which demonstrates different types of reflections.
30 Pebble+: Resource Centre Use for: Storing all your templates Go to PebblePad > Tools & Resources > Resource Centre A store for all of the templates that you build or other people make available for you to use Across the top of the store are three filter buttons to make it easier to locate things in your Resource Centre. By Me are templates you have created, For Me are templates other people have made available for you to use, and Favourite s list the templates you have added to the Add New menu by marking them as favourites.
31 Pebble+: Structured Reflection Use as: A template to help you to reflect Go to PebblePad > Add New > Structured Reflection An asset which documents a structured reflection, which can now be attached to a webfolio, for example as part of a wider collection of assets. Use this particular template to help you create an Structured Reflection. There are various fields including about this reflection, reaction and event analysis.
32 Pebble+: Tags Use as: Labels to help you tag your assets Go to PebblePad > View > Tags A label you can attach to your assets to help you to search and organise, and to find related assets Tags are labels you can attach to your assets to help you to search and organise, and to find related assets. For example, you might add a particular tag to all the assets you create relating to a project you are involved in.
33 Pebble+: Talent Use for: Describing your talents Go to PebblePad > Add New > Talent A formatted content item demonstrating evidence of a talent(s). This is available as a PebblePad asset Talent is a type of asset, containing a number of templates, including ability and achievement. You can use these templates to create an asset within PebblePad which demonstrates different types of talents.
34 Pebble+: Template Builder Use for: Building templates within Pebble+ to help you record activities Go to PebblePad > Tools & Resources > Template Builder Bespoke templates within Pebble to help you record activities, make plans or capture information There are a number of default templates within Pebble+ to help you record activities, make plans or capture information. To allow for maximum flexibility Pebble+ includes a Template Builder to enable you or people working with you to create a template for any given purpose.
35 Pebble+: View All Use for: Viewing templates & workbooks you & others have created The View All option in the Add New menu takes you to the Resource Centre Quick and easy access to all resources from one place. You can access any templates or workbooks you have created or had shared with you.
36 Pebble+: Webfolio Use as: A collection of pages of assets Go to PebblePad > Design New > Webfolio A series of web pages (an online webfolio) constructed by a user which collates and presents a series of different types of assets. Webfolios act a little like portfolio binders allowing additional pages to be added, edited, or removed at any time. Other assets and templates can be added as pages in a Webfolio making it a very flexible way to collate information and evidence.
37 Pebble+: What? So What? Now What? Use as: A three stage reflection Go to PebblePad > Add New > Reflection > What? So What? Now What? An asset which documents a 3-step reflection, which can now be attached to a webfolio, for example as part of a wider collection of assets. Use this particular template to help you create an 3- step reflection, as detailed in the title.
38 Pebble+: Workbook Builder Use as: A multi page booklet to deliver content & learning opportunities From the Tools and Resources menu select Workbookand two panels will open. One is the main area for building and editing the Workbook and the other is the properties panel, which enables you to manage and define exactly how each element behaves. A workbook is a multiple page booklet that can be designed to deliver content and interactive material to the user for learning, revision or assessment. A workbook typically contains multiple templates but can also contain holders for users to add Blogs, Foliopages, Collections, and Activity Logs, making it a flexible way to deliver course content or provide learning resources. A workbook containing a structure that you have set up and linked to the assets of your choice.
39 ATLAS: Assignments Use as: An assignment drop box for students Go to Workspace > Assignments An assignment dropbox for students Each workspace contains a default assignment to which deadlines can be allocated. If a single workspace is used for multiple submissions, e.g. for a group of students on a year-long course, then additional assignments can be created for each unique assessment activity.
40 ATLAS: Defaults Use as: Default settings that cascade down workspaces ATLAS > Administration > Manage Regions > Defaults This page allows the setting of certain defaults that will cascade down through regions and be applied to any new workspaces that are subsequently added. Default settings can be applied for the about page, the usage statement, the default/hidden pages, approval statements, member permissions, manager permissions and external permissions.
41 ATLAS: Externals Use for: Controlling access to parts of ATLAS ATLAS > Administration > Manage Regions > Externals This page shows external examiners that are in use on workspaces within this region. Use this page to manage external examiners for a particular Region.
42 ATLAS: Feedback Use as: A bank of feedback statements for submitted work Go to Workspace > Feedback Statements of feedback on submitted work. Create feedback statements, which can be organised into collections, manage approval statements, and add feedback templates.
43 ATLAS: Logs Use for: A history of activities within an Organisation Administration area ATLAS > Administration > Manage Regions > Logs This page contains a history of all the transactions relevant to this admin area. Use this page to check the logs against a particular Region. You can see the types of changes made in a a particular Region and who made the changes.
44 ATLAS: Managers Use as: A configurable role in ATLAS ATLAS > Administration > Manage Regions > Managers This page allows one to administer manager access. Use this page to add people to management roles and to modify roles or personalise permissions.
45 ATLAS: Members Use for: A list of users with access to the workspace Go to Workspace > Members A list of names with access to the Workspace. Members is the term used to describe users who typically submit work to a workspace or assignment for feedback or assessment.
46 ATLAS: Organisation Use for: The topmost level of the hierarchy in ATLAS Within ATLAS (this is the topmost level) the screen presented to you when you first access this. The organisation is the highest level of structure in ATLAS and is administered by managers who are supported by assistants. Organisations are the highest level of the hierarchy within ATLAS. An Organisation, in this instance might be Brunel University, below which you get Regions (e.g. an Academic School) and Workspaces (e.g. a particular course or module)
47 ATLAS: Regions Use for: A School based area in ATLAS ATLAS > Administration > Regions A Region will be set up to emulate physical organisational structures e.g. faculties, schools, departments, organisational units. A Region is a workspace that you can use to administer assessments and resources to your students.
48 ATLAS: Resources Use as: A repository of uploaded or submitted content Go to Workspace > Resources A repository of uploaded or submitted content. Resources that have recently been added to workspaces will appear in this section. These can include documents, templates, web links, videos, and any other type of digital file. Click on the resource name view it or click on the green arrow to go straight to the associated workspace.
49 ATLAS: Sets Use for: Groups within ATLAS ATLAS Dashboard > Workspaces I am a member of. Students will be able to see the set they belong to via the ATLAS Dashboard. Large groups of members can be organised into smaller sets. Managers can normally only see sets to which they are assigned. Lead tutors can, by default, see and manage all sets.
50 ATLAS: Settings Use for: Managing settings within ATLAS workspaces Once a Workspace has been created the settings can be edited from the Settings page under Management. A usage statement and tags added top a workspace aid in their organisation and presentation to students. You can add a usage statement for students which is attached to a given workspace and displayed, to give them some guidance on how their work will be treated on the workspace, for example. You can also multiple tags to a workspace to aid searching and filtering. This will be particularly helpful for people who manage lots of workspaces..
51 ATLAS: Modify Permissions Use for: Controlling what users are able to do in a workspace Within Organisations, Regions and Workspaces (represented as a button) The Managers page at all three levels (Organisation, Region, Workspace) contains a Modify Permissions button. Clicking on this button opens the full list of permissions that apply to the various roles at that level Personalised permissions (ie. permissions different to those represented by the roles) can be allocated to any single manager by clicking on the Personalise button to the right of their name. The full list of permissions will then be displayed and the required permissions can be selected.
52 ATLAS: Submissions Use as: A repository of submitted work Go to Workspace > Submissions A repository of submitted work. The submissions page is where any work that has been submitted to the workspace will appear.
53 ATLAS: Workspaces Use for: An organised area for your class Go to ATLAS > Workspace An area for a specific class or cohort, designed for students to submit work. Use a workspace to organise a particular group of people with a common purpose e.g. a group of students submitting similar work for a known assessment.
