To do this, save the report as a file, then navigate to the student s record page (Students > Student Name) and click the blue File button at the bottom of the page. The Add File page displays. Enter a name for the file, select General Purpose as the File Type, and click the Choose File button to navigate and select the report file. Click the blue Add File button to save the report file to the student s record. A confirmation message displays on the student s page, along with the newly added file in the Files section. 34 Chapter 6. Troubleshooting Problems This section describes some of the problems you may encounter with the teacher portal in the LCE system, how you can remedy them, and what you can do to request support. Contacting Technical Support In the teacher portal, click on the Support link in the upper-right corner of the screen, or go to Click the blue Technical Support button to fill out and submit a ticket. Technical support personnel are available Monday - Friday, 9-5 EST. Support requests are typically answered within 4 business hours of receipt. Assignments and Assessments How do I un-assign a worksheet or knowledge battery assessment? Currently it is not possible to un-assign an assessment; however, you may update the status of that assessment as completed, then add a note by following these steps: 1. Click the Students tab, and then click on the student s name in the list. 2. Click the Assignments tab in the submenu, find the assignment in the list, and then click Edit. 3. Select Completed from the Status drop-down menu. 4. Enter a note in the Message to Student field that the assignment is not required. 5. Click the Update button. How do I delete an assignment or knowledge battery assessment? It is currently not possible to delete assessments. However, you do not need to assign existing assessments to students. CEC Life Centered Education System: Teacher Portal Guide 34
35 Classrooms How do I remove a classroom? You cannot completely delete a classroom, but you may have an empty classroom. To remove students from a classroom, click on Manage School Year and click on the classroom s name in the list to display the Edit Classroom screen. Select the checkboxes for all of the students, and then click the Remove Selected button. The system displays a confirmation message that the classroom was changed successfully. Logging In and Account Management How can I change or update my address or password? Click on your username hyperlink in the upper right corner of the portal. In this section, you can edit your name, address (which is also your username for login), and your password. Click the Update button to save the changes to your profile. I m having trouble logging into my account. To log into your account, use your address associated with your account as the username, and use the password set up in your teacher profile. If you forgot your password, click the Forgot Password link on the login screen ( to reset your password. Students How do I associate a report with a student through the LCE system? In the current system, you cannot save reports and associate them directly with a student. As a workaround, you can take a screen capture of the report, and use the Add File function on the student s profile page to save a version of the report. (See Viewing and Printing a Report on page 33). CEC Life Centered Education System: Teacher Portal Guide 35
