2 Pre and Probiotics for Healthy Skin The human gastrointestinal tract (GIT) is home to an incredible population of beneficial bacteria responsible for the complex, related network, which maintains regularity and balance in our digestive and immune systems. Microflora is initiated at birth and continues to cultivate as we age, as long as our diets are balanced to provide proper nourishment. Aside from promoting digestive stability, these bacteria protect against the illness and infection caused by harmful bacteria that flourish when beneficial microflora is scarce.
