Mission: successfully control liver fluke, worms and lice 3 WORLD S 1ST TRIPLE COMBO CTTLE PRSITICIDE INJECTION 1 2

HIGHLY EFFECTIVE World first Nitromec is the world s first triple active injectable cattle parasiticide and contains a combination of Nitroxynil, Clorsulon and Ivermectin Uses the synergistic effect of Clorsulon and Nitroxynil for superior potency against liver fluke Effective against all three stages of liver fluke, including the important two week old early immature stage The greatest damage to the liver is caused by young migrating states of liver fluke Controls Triclabendazole resistant strains of liver fluke Contains Ivermectin which is highly effective against gastrointestinal roundworms and external parasites 2

The Strength of Synergy Many parasite control products contain more than one active ingredient, but almost universally, the ingredients act independently of each other, providing a simple cumulative effect. Rarely, the chemicals work together to provide higher potency than expected from the cumulative impact of the two chemicals, a synergistic effect that provides outstanding potency. Nitromec utilises the proven synergistic effect of clorsulon and nitroxynil. This provides superior potency compared with non-synergised flukicides, including most triclabendazole-based products that claim control of all three developmental stages of the liver fluke. The higher potency of Nitromec is particularly evident against the early immature stage of the fluke. Nitromec is one of only two products to have an ustralian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines uthority (PVM) approved label claim specifically for the control of two week old early immature liver fluke (the other being Virbac s Flukazole C Plus Selenium oral drench). 1 NITROXYNIL IVERMECTIN 3 2 CLORSULON Inject for effect Nitromec has been developed in ustralia by Virbac using the latest formulation technology. It contains a combination of Nitroxynil, Clorsulon and Ivermectin. The combination of Nitroxynil and Clorsulon provides synergistic activity against liver fluke, making it one of only two products proven to effectively kill liver fluke as soon as two weeks post-infection - the other is Virbac s Flukazole C Plus Selenium. n efficacy study has proven Nitromec is effective against all three stages of liver fluke, including the highly important two week old early immature stage 1. Independent trials have shown that popular pour-on flukicides are not as effective on early immature fluke (including two and four week old stages) as Nitromec Injection 1. Cattle flukicide efficacy trials Nitromec Injection versus pour-on treatment % Reduction in total fluke count % 99% NITROMEC INJECTION 82% 8% POUR-ON (abamectin/triclabendazole) ge of fluke at the time of treatment 2-weeks 4-weeks By injecting Nitromec you have the confidence in knowing the product is inside the animal and working. The condition of the animal s coat and weather can t influence how well the product will work

Know the enemy d C 8 weeks F 6 weeks F B 4 weeks Bile duct 2 weeks 1 week E Gall bladder Cross section of a damaged liver 1 week old fluke Newly arrived from gut and penetrating the liver capsule d dult fluke in bile duct eggs layed approx weeks after infection B 4 week old early immature fluke migratory phase, causing haemorrhage and leaving scarring E Fluke eggs in gall bladder, ready for release into digestive tract C 8 week old immature fluke migratory phase completed. Ready to enter bile duct F Visible scarring Controlling the early immature and immature stages of liver fluke is important because: The early immature and immature flukes migrate through the liver leaving a devastating trail of destruction They cause reduced appetite, blood and protein loss with liver function impairment and scarring Severe infections, where many you flukes inhabit the liver can lead to permanent underperformance or even death Even in cases where the clinical signs of infection are not obvious, the damage to the liver can severely limit the productivity Effective removal of early immature and immature flukes stops egg laying for an extended period of time Healthy normal liver. The scarring from immature fluke is evident on this liver. 4

Inject profit into your wallet weight gain study by independent parasitologist Dr Joe Boray has clearly demonstrated the economic advantage in removing early immature flukes. In that study 2, animals treated to remove early immature flukes 1-2 weeks postinfection had greater weight gain than animals treated 4-6 or 8-12 weeks post-infection. Over 20 weeks, the average body weight of the early treated group was 8 kg heavier than the group treated 4-6 weeks post-infection and 13kg heavier than the group that had the fluke removed when they were mature. Watch your calves TKE OFF! GE OF LIVER FLUKE T TIME OF TRETMENT 1-2 WEEK STGES 4-6 WEEK STGES 8-12 WEEK STGES WEIGHT GIN (kg) OVER 20 WEEKS 13kg = an additional $23 in liveweight value 3 Producers should look for maximum efficacy against the youngest liver fluke possible when choosing a product for the control of liver fluke. High levels of efficacy will minimise the liver damage caused by the migrating young fluke and in the process minimise the economic losses resulting from the disease. Ivermectin the special link in the chain The last link in the Nitromec Injection is lvermectin. Ivermectin is the world s most popular drench active for use in cattle. It is highly effective against gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworm and external parasites. Nitromec injection also offers persistent control of damaging roundworms an d lungworm. 4 Ostertgia spp Cooperia spp Lungworm Screw worm fly Control far more than just liver fluke Ostertagia ostertagi Small brown stomach worms Haemonchus placei Barber s Pole worm Trichostrongylus axei Stomach hair worm Trichostrongylus colubriformis Intestinal hair worm O. lyrata Stomach worm Cooperia spp Small intestinal worm Oesophagostomum radiatum Bunostomum phlebotomum Nodule worm nd adult stages of: Trichuris spp Whipworm Stongyloides papillosus Nematodirus spp Early immature (including 2-week old), Immature and dult Liver Fluke Dictyocaulus viviparous Thelazia spp Linognathus vituli Haematopinus eurysternus Solenopotes capillatus Sarcoptes scabei var bovis Chrysomya bezziana Boophilus microplus Intestinal worm Thin necked intestinal worm Fasciola hepatica Lungworms Eyeworm Long nosed sucking louse Short nosed sucking louse Little blue sucking louse Mites Screw worm fly Cattle tick The Ivermectin in Nitromec Injection is also a highly effective insecticide. For this reason Nitromec Injection is active against a range of parasites on cattle including live, mange mites and cattle tick. Lice numbers typically build up over the colder winter months as the animal s coat thickens. Nitromec Injection gives full control of sucking lice and aids in the control of biting lice WORLD S 1ST TRIPLE COMBO CTTLE PRSITICIDE INJECTION 1 3 2

Market Leadership Liver fluke is serious and so is Virbac. Virbac recognises that liver fluke disease in cattle is a major ongoing productivity issue costing ustralia s beef industry millions of dollars in lost production each year. Virbac has invested heavily in liver fluke research to help gain an in-depth understanding of this parasite and its impacts. Virbac s passion for developing the right product solutions has produced a unique range of cutting-edge products that provides cattle producers with effective, flexible and economical control of liver fluke. You can be confident that the Virbac Nitromec will give you the control you need. FlukeKill initiative 360 fluke control Liver fluke is a complex parasite, but its control is easily achieved where tailored control programmes are employed. The Flukekill programme, a Virbac initiative, guides farmers through treatment timing and product choice. The programme, which was designed with the assistance of Dr Joe Boray, one of the worlds leading authorities on liver fluke, aims to limit the economic impact of the liver fluke in a highly effective and sustainable way. The two key treatment timings in the Flukekill programme are autumn and spring, with an optional summer treatment(s) included where fluke infestation is high. utumn and summer treatments must control all three stages of the fluke (early immature, immature and adult). Nitromec and Flukazole C Plus Selenium are the most effective products available for use at these times. The spring treatment is a preventative treatment, removing any adult flukes remaining after winter to minimise pasture contamination with fluke eggs at the beginning of the fluke season. Virbamec Plus is recommended for this treatment. Triclabendazole has been on the ustralian market for over 20 years and is used repeatedly as the main active constituent to control liver fluke. Suspected cases of triclabendazole resistance are emerging in regions around ustralia which could be attributed to the over-use of products containing triclabendazole. Nitromec provides a suitable rotation away from triclabendazole for autumn and summer fluke treatments. Use Nitromec Injection or Flukazole C Plus Selenium. utumn Treatment The autumn treatment must control early immature, immature and adult fluke. TM FlukeKill INITITIVE Use Nitromec Injection or Flukazole C Plus Selenium. n optimal mid summer. treatment may be required for heavily infested properties. Use Virbamec Plus Late winter/spring Optimal time for the late spring treatment is ugust/september. This is important to remove all remaining fluke & stop pasture contamination of fluke eggs. 6
