1 ANNEXURE- A2 (Nylon-6 Paper bags) SPECIFICATIONS OF HDPE LAMINATED PAPER BAGS WITH INNER BOPP LAMINATED PAPER BAGS (L - STITCHED) FOR FILLING NYLON-6 CHIPS. 1.0 GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE BAG : It is a Brown E.S.K. paper bag laminated from inside with HDPE woven fabric and inner bag of BOPP laminated paper to pack 25 kgs. of nylon-6 chips having bulk density of about 650 kg./m SPECIFICATIONS OF THE BAG : 2.1 Bag size and weight (Inside dimensions from the stitch) : - Height : 875 mm } + 10 mm / - 5 mm. - Width : 500 mm } - Weight : 320 gm +/- 6% in case of 80 gsm paper. 2.2 Strength of the laminated HDPE fabric and seams : a) Warp-wise : 60 kgf minimum b) Weft-wise : 70 kgf minimum c) Side seam : 31 kgf minimum d) Bottom seam : 31 kgf minimum 3.0 BAG PREPARATION : 3.1 Specifications of Brown E.S.K. Paper for outer & inner use : Weight of paper : 80 gms. per sq. mtr. with +/- 5% tolerance Bursting strength : Minimum 2.8 kg. per sq. cm Tensile strength : Machine Direction : Minimum 6 Kilograms for 15 mm strip. : Cross Direction : Minimum 4.5 Kilograms for 15 mm strip. 1

2 3.2 Specification of HDPE Woven fabric on circular looms : Fabric made on circular weaving looms of adequate width without folding/ joint Raw material for fabric manufacturing : Virgin A grade HDPE granules - Raffia prime grade E of M/s RIL Or equivalent imported grade. Addition of master batch containing TiO2/CaCO3 is permissible upto 2.5% maximum Fabric Construction : HDPE fabric of 10 x 10 Mesh shall be made using 1000 denier HDPE tape. + / - 5% tolerance shall be applicable on Denier/Mesh. 3.3 Specification of LDPE for Lamination : LDPE film of uniform thickness shall be used for bonding of ESK Paper with HDPE Woven fabric. The LDPE film shall be made from Virgin A grade of LDPE Granules - 24FS040 of RIL or equivalent Bonding film thickness : 37.5 Microns minimum. 3.4 Specifications of BOPP laminated paper as inner bag : The inner bag shall be made from 80 GSM Brown ESK Paper laminated with 25 microns BOPP film duly metallised. Thickness of lamination layer by LDPE shall be minimum 37.5 microns. Virgin A Grade of LDPE Granules 24FS040 / 1070LA17 of RIL or equivalent shall be used for the same. The total weight of BOPP laminated paper used in each bag shall be about 123 gms. 3.5 Specification of Brown Crepe Kraft Paper : Crepe Kraft Paper to be used for covering the edges shall be of 55 mm width having mesh of 100 gms/sq. met. Minimum. 2

3 3.6 Construction : The sides of outer laminated paper along with inner BOPP laminated paper shall be parallel to each other and corners at right angle such that the final bag is perfectly rectangular. Inner BOPP laminated paper and outer laminated fabrics shall be overlapped properly and folded on the side and the bottom with 20 mm width. The fold shall be uniform. Top edges of the bag shall match perfectly. 8 plies of the folded edges at side and bottom shall be covered with 55 mm wide brown crepe kraft paper strip and to be stitched together. The lamination of HDPE with ESK paper shall be perfect without any fabric crease or visible defect of any kind Stitching : Rayon Tyre Thread of sufficient strength shall be used for stitching side and bottom. The stitching shall be done with single row of chain stitches and the number of stitches shall be 12 +/- 2 per 10 cm. It shall be about 10 mm from the edge of the bag and shall be uniform, and continuous throughout the full length/width without loose thread or knot. 4.0 BRANDING OF THE BAGS : The outer side of each bag is to be printed on one side as per the zerox copy of art work in full size. The printing of the script will be given in single colour / double colour using polyglene or equivalent ink which has to be fast and non-washable. The colour/script/letter details with size etc. will be strictly as per the sample. The supplier has to submit samples with printing. Any change in above will be intimated to the supplier in advance and subsequently the supplier will submit the sample for final approval. If required, we can furnish a sample of our approved bag for ready reference on return request after contract finalisation. 4.1 The material of stereo shall be of moulded Nylon for clear legible sharp lettering to avoid mixing/overlapping of letters. The stereo should be replaced if printing is not legible. 3

4 5.0 TEST METHODS : The methods shall generally conform to following Indian Standards (latest edition ) : 1) Kraft Paper : IS ) HDPE Fabric laminated : IS with paper. 3) Side/Bottom Seam Strength : IS ) Sampling size : IS The above Indian standards are only for Test methods to be followed. The results of individual properties shall be as per our given specifications only. 6.0 PACKING INSTRUCTIONS : 6.1 The bag shall be packed into trusses of 100 bags each. Each truss shall be wrapped with water proof HDPE fabric/cloth. Each truss shall be stitched properly and shall have a rectangular shape for easy and safe stacking The supplier shall mark on all trusses of bags on one side with the following : 1) Company's Name & Address i.e. GUJARAT STATE FERTILIZERS & CHEMICALS LTD. P.O.Fertilizernagar Dist. Vadodara. 2) Total number of trusses and distinctive number of each truss despatched. 3) LOT NO./Year - i.e. 21/09, 22/09 (continuous series of lot no. shall be maintained) 4) Gross and Nett weight of each truss. 5) Supplier's Name/Address etc. 4

5 1.0 CERTIFICATE : The supplier shall certify that for each consignment the use of original and virgin raw materials, HDPE/LDPE granules Grade E-52009, 24FS040 / 1070 LA 17 respectively, Crepe Kraft Paper, ESK Paper etc. for making paper sacks are strictly as per the specifications laid down in the tender enquiry. 5
