2 The School International standards are a high priority within the education system at Fachhochschule Frankfurt am Main. The school offers over 30 study programs and the encourages the opportunity for life long learning through the occupational study program and postgraduate programs. The school strives to create a healthy and comfortable campus environment with its roots stemming from both educational purposes and social satisfaction. Facilities An on-campus canteen is offered to students and faculty throughout the school along with other student run cafeterias. The school also offers international facilities such as the language centre, learning centre and library. Credit system The programs are divided into different modules with a regular workload of 5 ECTS credits minimum (there might be modules of 10 credits in some programs covering 2 semesters). Grading scale The German marking system is based on a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being the highest mark and 5 being the fail grade. 1=very good, 2=good, 3=satisfactory, 4=pass, 5=fail Courses For a full list of Degree Programs, mode of instruction and courses Click Here. Christianity is the main religion however other religions are willingly accepted. Cost of living Housing The university does not control accommodation, dorms are run by student aid corporation (Studentenwerk) or other semi-private companies. Only exchange students are guaranteed accommodation in the following types of rooms: single rooms with shared kitchen and washrooms (about ) double rooms for couples and single parents, shared facilities as above (about 350) single rooms in groups ( ) apartments with kitchenette and washroom ( ) apartments for couples with children ( ). Rooms in student dorms are partially furnished (bring linens, towels, etc )

4 In Frankfurt private rooms won t be cheaper than 300. And there are not many of them. That is why looking around in the outskirts is highly recommended, especially because of the excellent public transportation system in the Rhein- Main area. Personal expenses Movie ticket = hour FrankfurtCard city discount card = 8.00 Internet cafe access per hour = 3.00 Main Tower city view adult admission = 4.50 Goethe House adult admission = 5.00 Frankfurt Zoo = 8.00 Basic single room booking through a tourist office = One hour parking in city = 2.00 Restaurant bills include a service charge, but most people add 5% or 10%. Hotels, bellhops are given about Euro1 per bag and it's also nice to leave a few euros for the room cleaners. Tip bartenders about 5% and taxi drivers around 10%. Transportation The main mode of public transportation in Frankfurt is the Stadtwerke Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main mbh (VGF). The public transportation system in Frankfurt consists of several carriers however all use the same fare. Therefore, one ticket is valid for each carrier. Admission process Prior to fill the application form you are advised to check our study opportunities and some extracurricular conditions of studying in Frankfurt carefully. Then turn to your local staff/office in charge of exchange arrangements with Fachhochschule Fraqnkfurt am Main to start the application procedure. Your home university staff only is entitled to forward your application documents. We need the following: 1. Your Online Application Form (click on Application Form on left hand side) 2. Paper based: application form (do not forget to sign), learning agreement (take your home university's form, consult your faculty and care for the signatures), transcript of records of your home university (in German or English), documentation of German language proficiency (in case you choose German taught courses).
