2 ESOR Courses for EDiR ESOR Courses for EDiR Course information In 2016, ESOR is re-introducing foundation courses to prepare/assist those entering examinations for the European Diploma in Radiology. Three cycles of courses at different times a year are organised at the ESR Learning Centre in Vienna, Austria. The format will include three one-day courses at each cycle, each one dealing with a specific organ/system-oriented theme. The teaching concept will include 20-minute lectures, immediately followed by 40-minute case-based reviews on six topics. The teaching/learning objectives for each of the topics will be strictly adhered to the European Training Curriculum. A self-assessment test including multiple-choice questions for each of the topics will round-off the exercise. 20 participants will be targeted per course. Registration will be possible for each single, one-day course, or for more, combined at the same cycle. Learning objectives to review the essential anatomy of key districts of head and neck to learn about the imaging strategy based on the specific clinical setting to discuss the imaging-based information relevant for decision making to build up a proper methodology for approaching the differential diagnosis of head and neck lesions

4 ESOR Courses for EDiR Learning Objectives Congenital lesions of the neck to understand the difference between midline and lateral congenital neck lesions to learn about imaging features of branchial arch anomalies to discuss the cystic masses of the neck Neoplasms of the mandible and maxilla to understand patterns of bone destruction to review primary tumours and secondary malignant lesions to the mandible and maxilla to get acquainted with maxillofacial pseudotumoural lesions Imaging of carotid space masses to explain the content of the carotid space to learn about imaging features of vascular and neurogenic tumours along the internal carotid artery and jugular vein to discuss pseudotumoural lesions of the carotid space Neoplasms of the nasopharynx to review the anatomy landmarks of nasopharynx and surrounding structures to learn about the imaging features of benign and malignant neoplasms to illustrate the patterns of spread of critical relevance for treatment planning Deep neck infections to review the anatomy of infra- and supra-hyoid spaces of the neck to understand the differences among cellulitis, abscess and necrotising fasciitis to discuss indications and role of ultrasound, CT and MR imaging to discuss the patterns of spread of deep neck infections Soft tissue masses of the orbit to review normal anatomy of the orbit to discuss common orbital mass lesions in the paediatric population to illustrate orbital involvement in systemic diseases to learn about benign or malignant tumours in adults
