2 Welcome to our South Africa and Kenya holiday for July If you have ever wanted to visit Africa now is your chance, this holiday will incorporate, game drive in Kruger National Park, Cape Town, the Famous Victoria Falls, Kenya as well as the opportunity to visit the Foundation of Mercy Children's Centre in Kissi. This centre was founded in 1993 by Makara Baptist Church and Rev Henry and cares for approx. 500 orphaned children due to the AIDS problem through-out the region. This holiday experience is sure to leave a lasting impression, not only through the wondrous scenery you will encounter, but also the many animals and our time with Rev Henry. 2

On arrival we will be met and transferred to our hotel. Tonight we will enjoy dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight: Holiday Inn Sandton Johannesburg Day 2: Sunday 28 June 2015 Johannesburg Mpumalanga Worship Like with all CFT tours the highlight on Sunday is the chance to worship with locals and today we will attend a local church service. Tour Soweto (the township made famous by its resistance to the apartheid regime), including a visit to the Nelson Mandela House Museum. This afternoon we depart for our overland travel to the province of Mpumalanga. Overnight: Hannah Lodge Included meals Multiple overnight stop Chance to worship B = Breakfast L = Lunch D = Dinner 2 Nights Worship Day 3: Monday 29 June 2015 Mpumalanga Southern Kruger National Park 2 Nights The highlight of South Africa is the animals and this morning is our first nature drive on the property which will introduce you to the various antelope and bird species as well as rhino. We continue onto the Blyde River Canyon from the face of the escarpment. With a gorge of 26 kilometres long and 800 metres deep, it is the third largest canyon in the world. Tonight we stay in a special tented camp called Nkambeni which is within the famous Kruger National Park, and this afternoon we enjoy our first game drive in the park. Overnight: Nkambeni Tented Camp Day 4: Tuesday 30 June 2015 Southern Kruger National Park You will spend a full day today in an open safari vehicle touring and looking for wildlife in the Kruger National Park. This is one of the largest game reserves in Africa, covering 19,633 kms. All the Big Five game animals are found in the park: African lion, African elephant, Cape buffalo, African leopard, and White/Black rhinoceros. Tonight a Boma dinner experience (weatherpermitting) will round the day off back at the camp Overnight: Nkambeni Tented Camp Day 5: Wednesday 1 July 2015 Southern Kruger National Park to Cape Town Another full morning game drive in our special open safari vehicles inside the National Park. We journey across country this afternoon seeing the changing landscape back to Johannesburg. Connect with an afternoon flight to Cape Town where on arrival we will be met and transferred to our local hotel and enjoy dinner in this southern city. Overnight: Lady Hamilton, Cape Town Day 6: Thursday 2 July 2015 Cape Point Tour Today we will enjoy a full day Cape Point Tour, starting with a drive along the Atlantic Seaboard past the Scenic Clifton and Camps bay beaches. We will then embark on a return boat trip to Duiker Island a packed colony of Cape seals. We then continue to Cape Point, stopping along the way at Chapmans Peak, where you will witness the conservation effort to save the African Penguin. At Cape Point you will have elevated views of both the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. Tonight we will enjoy a must when visiting Cape Town: dinner and a show at the Richard s Supper Stage and Bistro. 5 Cape Town Victoria Falls Nairobi Mount Kenya National Park Day 7: Friday 3 July 2015 Cape Town Tour Enjoy a full day touring Cape Town. We will take the cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain (weather dependent) to enjoy 360 degree views of the city and surrounds as we climb. Catch a boat to visit Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned during the apartheid years. Also included is a full guided tour of the island. Tonight we enjoy a special dinner at a restaurant on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront before we return to the hotel. Overnight: Lady Hamilton, Cape Town Day 8: Saturday 4 July 2015 Cape Town Victoria Falls An early morning flight from Cape Town via Johannesburg to Victoria Falls. 2 Nights Few people ever forget the grandeur of Victoria Falls: the largest waterfall in the world. Imagine the power of a waterfall 1,708 metres wide plunging 108 metres to the valley floor! If you ve seen the famous Niagara Falls, this is a waterfall twice its height, 500 metres wider, and an awesome sight to behold. After arriving tonight we participate in a Boma dinner. Overnight: Lokuthula Lodges Day 9: Sunday 5 July 2015 Victoria Falls Worship Like all CFT tours there is the chance to meet and worship with locals on Sunday, and this morning we transfer to a local church service. Our afternoon will include touring to the falls and we will be picked up from the rainforest to the banks of the mighty Zambezi for a special dinner cruise. Overnight: Lokuthula Lodges Day 10: Monday 6 July 2015 Victoria Falls Johannesburg A relaxing morning with some free time in Victoria Falls this morning, before transferring to the airport for our short flight to Johannesburg. Tonight we stay not too far from the airport for the ease of arriving and departing tomorrow morning. Overnight: Peermont Mondior Hotel Johannesburg Day 11: Tuesday 7 July 2015 Johannesburg Nairobi Today we depart South Africa bound for Kenya, transferring from the hotel to the airport for our flight to Nairobi, Kenya. On arrival we will be greeted in traditional African style before being transferred to our local accommodation set in the heart of Nairobi, Kenya s colourful capital. Overnight: Sarova Stanley Hotel, Nairobi Day 12: Wednesday 8 July 2015 Nairobi Mount Kenya National Park After breakfast we head out to one of Kenya s less fortunate areas - Mathare North, where we will have the opportunity to visit The Better Life Foundation, a local school, before we drive north through the rich agricultural and hilly mosaic of small farms to Mount Kenya National Park. Arrive at your luxurious Serena Mountain Lodge, the only tree hotel ever to be built on the slopes of Kenya s legendary Mount Kenya. It offers a matchless game viewing opportunity whilst combining a glorious panorama of mountain vistas with the primordial splendours of an ancient rainforest. You can awake to the trumpeting of elephant, fall asleep to the symphony of the African night or sit in stillness and observe the fascinating interplay of the animals as they arrive to drink, bathe, spar and forage around the water hole. Head down to the secret viewing hide by the water s edge and you will experience the awesome thrill of being only metres away from some of the most massive beasts on earth - the savannah elephants. Overnight: Mountain Lodge, Mount Kenya Day 13: Thursday 9 July 2015 Mount Kenya National Park Lake Nakuru National Park After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru National Park with a brief stop over at Thompson's Falls. Proceed to Lake Nakuru, famous as home to thousands of lesser and greater flamingos. This park The itinerary was more than I expected not rushed. 5

6 Lake Nakuru National Park Rothschild Giraffes Leopard Mercy Children s Centre International also provides sanctuary for Rothschild giraffe, black and white rhino and the elusive leopard. This afternoon, prepare to set off on a bush/nature walk in the company of the resident naturalist who will explain the history of the area and point out some of the shrubs used for medicinal purposes. View the stunning sunset with its beautiful colours over the vast open plains of Congreve Conservancy and the Mau Escarpment before returning to the Camp. Enjoy a bush dinner under the African sky whilst being entertained by the night sounds of a hyena laugh, the trampling of the buffalo or the roar of a lion nearby. Overnight: Sarova Lion Hill Lodge Day 14: Friday 10 July 2015 Lake Nakuru National Park Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and proceed on a full day s game viewing drive in search of both the black and white rhino, the endangered Rothschild Giraffe (Twiga), the elusive leopard as well as a host of other plains game. You ll also have a chance to visit the shores of the lake where you may walk with millions of flamingos. The landscape includes areas of marsh and grasslands alternating with rocky cliffs and outcrops, stretches of acacia woodland and rocky hillsides covered with a Euphorbia forest (the largest in Africa) on the eastern perimeter. The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the white rhino and buffaloes, as well as a variety of terrestrial birds numbering nearly 450 species. Overnight: Sarova Lion Hill Lodge Day 15: Saturday 11 July 2015 Lake Nakuru National Park Kisii After breakfast we depart to Kisii Town to visit Rev Henry and the Foundation of Mercy Children s Centre International. In 1984 Rev Henry Nyasemi and the Makara Baptist Church established a school and orphanage for 500 children whose parents had died of HIV/AIDS, and in recent years CFT has been supporting this wonderful work. Conditions there are very basic and you ll appreciate just how difficult it is to build a school and home for so many children in a remote part of Africa. Overnight: Ufanisi Resort Kisii Day 16: Sunday 12 July 2015 Kisii Today will be a special day sharing the day with the children and team from the Foundation of Mercy Children s Centre International. Over the course of the day you ll meet the children and enjoy a church service, tour the buildings, speak with Henry and meet his wife Grace and the rest of the family. If you met Henry on his Australian visit in 2013 this is a wonderful and rare opportunity to see the Centre first hand, and see the remarkable way the lives of 500 children have been transformed. By the way, when you attend church, don t expect there to be doors and a roof. Some of the basic things we are used to in a first world country are things they don t have. This is sure to be a fascinating and moving experience. Overnight: Ufanisi Resort Kisii Day 17: Monday 13 July 2015 Kisii Masai Mara Game Reserve Depart for the Masai Mara, Kenya s finest game sanctuary. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same superabundance as existed a century ago. We will be met on arrival and transferred to Sarova Mara Tented Camp where you ll be welcomed by the Camp Manager with a drink and canapés. The rest of the afternoon is spent at leisure. For those who are up for it enjoy a short afternoon game-viewing drive in this vast and expansive reserve teeming with game. Overnight: Sarova Mara Tented Camp 6 The fellowship with other Christians and the care and special times we shared.

7 Maasai culture Sarova Mara Tented Camp Masai Mara Game Reserve Johannesburg Day 18: Tuesday 14 July 2015 Masai Mara Game Reserve Amka! Wake up and enjoy a sumptuous breakfast this morning before we head off on a full morning s game viewing drive. As we return to camp, we will enjoy a visit to a local Primary School. This area is supported by The Manji Foundation and you ll enjoy meeting the children who will interact and possibly sing a few songs for you a truly remarkable and rewarding experience! After lunch, visit a traditional Maasai Manyatta and experience the culture of this world famous community. The Maasai still live as they did for centuries. Interact with these nomadic people and experience their way of life as you learn about their customs and traditions. We will end the late afternoon s game drive with a sun downer at a special site on the banks of the river enjoying a few cocktails and hot/cold canapés. A local naturalist tells you interesting stories of the area and the culture of the Maasai Tribe. Overnight: Sarova Mara Tented Camp Day 19: Wednesday 15 July 2015 Masai Mara Game Reserve Nairobi Amka! Wake up early with tea or coffee and head off on your last trail of the African Savannah. Hopefully you may see some of the animals that may have eluded you. Return for breakfast. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and sadly you must say kwaheri to your wonderful camp manager and his team as you drive back to Kenya s colourful capital city, Nairobi. Overnight: Sarova Stanley Hotel, Nairobi Day 20: Thursday 16 July 2015 Nairobi Johannesburg After breakfast today we will have some free-time for some last minute shopping before heading to the airport for our flight back to Johannesburg. On arrival in Johannesburg we will be transferred to our hotel. Overnight: Johannesburg Day 21: Friday 17 July 2015 Johannesburg Sydney B The morning at leisure as we prepare for our final journey home. After lunch we will be transferred to the airport to connect with our flight back to Sydney. Overnight: On flight Day 22: Saturday 18 July 2015 Arrive Sydney B We arrive into Sydney in the afternoon with interstate connections. The staff go above and beyond their normal duties. 7

Simply complete a CFT booking form (available online or by calling our office) and sending this to our office at PO Box 133, Katoomba, 2780 along with your deposit. What deposit is required? We require a 10% deposit upon booking to be sent to our office with the booking form. When does the final balance need to be paid? The balance of payment for the holiday is due on Tuesday 24 March, Does the price include airfares? The price does include return economy airfares with Qantas. What is the age of people on CFT Holidays? CFT is open to all ages, our only stipulation is that you must be capable of self care throughout the tour. Do I need to take out Travel Insurance? TRAVEL INSURANCE IS NOT INCLUDED, BUT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Please remember that travel insurance covers you for cancellation or amendment cost. Travel insurance is not included in your tour fare and is offered subject to conditions set out by the insurance company. If you require insurance, please mark this on your booking form. What is the currency for this holiday? Throughout your tour you will need to have available some extra money for personal items and tipping. In South Africa you will need to have access to South Africa Rand (ZAR), while in Kenya you will need Kenya Shillings (KES). You may also use your credit card in most places however you will need to make sure that you have a pin number as some places to do not allow you to sign for your purchase. What vaccination will I require for this holiday? As we are not trained medical professionals we are not able to give advice for vaccinations. We strongly suggest that you talk to the Travel and Medical Vaccination Centre on or visit their website for advice. Please note however that you will require a Yellow Fever Vaccination in order to re-enter Australia. Do I need a visa to travel on this holiday? Yes you will require a visa to travel to Kenya, you can download a visa application form for the Kenya High Commision website or else you can contact our office and we can assist you with this process (additional fees apply). How much spending money will I require? This is a common question that many people have. It is however a very difficult question to answer as everyone has different ideas of what they want to purchase. As a general rule we would suggest to budget around $50 per day, but again this could be more or less depending on your tastes etc. What clothing will I require? Layering is the key. As well as T shirts/shirts/blouses remember a cardigan/jumper and a jacket/coat. Don t forget your swimming costume just in case there is a pool at a hotel and you feel like a dip!
