IBRAHIM MALIK HOSPITAL: This is one of the teaching hospitals in Khartoum State, with total number of 280 beds of which 48 beds are for paediatrics,in addition 6 incubators in the Neonatal Unit. It covers a large number of 300,000 population. Duties and Responsibilities: Taking Responsiplities for a Sickle Cell Anaemia Clinic from Paediatric and adolescent Diabetes Clinic since Cover the Out-Patient department in general pediatrics Cover referred clinics. Organize Academic activities with respective units in form of tutorials care presenting. Teaching in Paediatric and Emergency Nursing MSC Khartoum Univ& University of Science and Te CHILDHOOD DIABETES CENTER(Jabir Abuliz ): This the first specialized diabetic center in Sudan. It was established in 1989 for Diabetic septic foot, and services were thereafter widened to include a Paediatric clinic.this is now considered to be the national childhood and adolescent diabetic clinic, and has been recognised for the last 3 years by th International Diabetes Federation to be a model in Africa. EXPERIENSE IN DIABETES: In 2005 I joined the working team and a year later the service was broadened with the help of the Sudanese Childhood Diabetes Association and Prof. Mohamed Ahmed Abdullah, under whom I trained and assumed responsibilities related to improving and creating new channels for funding which were successful as the World Diabetes Foundation accepted funding The Sudan Childhood

6 Diabetes Project for which I have been the coordinator since March In 2009 I attended and trained in Insulin Pump Therapy and this training was repeated in two more workshops, the most recent being in United Kingdom,Feb In this new and developed modality of diabetes treatment, and in Sudan I have been the only physician responsible for putting new patients on pump and I have 7 Type 1 diabetics so far, all of whom have at least been on CSII for 8 months and are following regularly..
