Students watch PowerPoint and make suggestions for adding suitable subordinate clauses to main clauses or t other way round The great thing about this simple resource is that it builds on students intuitive (rather than conscious) syntax skills and thus doesn t depend on their ability to be able to spot clauses and analyse sentences. However, you can use the resource to encourage some out of the box thinking: each slide asks students to suggest their own sentence completion. Below I reproduce the provided sentence fragment and then suggest in italics an intriguing completion. This is a good starting point for another stimulate-the-imagination game that also helps students to start sentences with participles. Put students in a circle.
