2 Pool AW7 Series 17 INDEX Introduction page 2 The AW7 Series from Metalumen is a clean and simple HID general lighting luminaire designed to blend, function and perform harmoniously in recreational natatoriums and indoor pools with waterparks; IES Class III and IES Class IV. Each swimming pool project presents the lighting designer with a unique set of challenges. The electrical engineer must decide on the best approach with the architect's concurrence. Design factors to be considered include the aesthetics, roof structure, level of illumination, height of the luminaires, maintenance, code requirements and the amount of direct and reflected glare from all contributing light sources including daylight. Making the right decisions on pool lighting design can be difficult. For this reason, the AW7 Series uniquely offers the lighting designer an array of lighting optics and mounting options that can be used either individually or in combination to provide the optimum solution. The AW7 Series offers 4 optic solutions including direct, indirect, semi-direct and semi-indirect with 5 mounting solutions including single or double wall mount, double arm and double or quad pendant. The AW7 Series is designed with practical functionality in mind. All luminaires are designed to be located over the pool deck for easy installation, simple re-lamping access and ease of maintenance. Luminaire optics are optimized for 0W and 0W mogul base ED-28/BT-28 clear metal halide lamps that more closely approximate the color temperature of natural daylight. Standard POMB (Position Oriented Mogul Base) sockets accurately locate the lamp for optimum performance. Lamp ballasts may be integral to the luminaire or remotely located. With an array of lamping, configuration and mounting design options, the AW7 Series is more than capable of meeting or exceeding all IES RP-6-01 standards. The AW7 Series is also designed for the harsh environment in which it must operate. Corrosion resistant aluminium luminaire housings, external and internal polyester powder coat white paint finish, sealed access points with corrosion resistant stainless steel hardware throughout all contribute to low maintenance and a low cost of ownership. Basic housing dimensions without mounting attachments: 210 x 595 x 388mm [8.3 x 23.4 x 15.3 in] Clear tempered glass: Indirect models. Frosted tempered glass: Direct models. ELECTRICAL SOCKET & LAMPING REQUIREMENTS All AW7 fixtures come standard with horizontal POMB sockets. (Position Oriented Mogul Base) Although universal position lamps will work, higher lumen output and longer life will be achieved when horizontal position lamps are used. Fixture optics are optimized for clear lamps- ED-28 or BT-28 maximum. METAL HALIDE LAMP Lamp: 0-0W MH ED/BT-28 Mogul (by others) QUARTZ HALOGEN AUXILIARY STANDBY LAMP (OPTIONAL) 1 volt tap and relay included. Quartz Halogen Max 0W T4 D.C. Bay. (by others).
