1 History of Soccer at Westminster Westminster soccer prides itself on a tradition of excellence which is synonymous with the level of play and competitiveness for which they are known. The Wildcats compete in the Georgia Independent School Association and are members of GISA Region 4AAA. Since its beginning, the Wildcats have captured at twenty-four region titles and five state championships. Region Championships: Boys- 1990, 1992, 1993, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009 Girls- 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 State Championships: Boys- 2000, 2001, 2004, 2006 Girls Girls Soccer at Westminster The Girls Varsity Soccer Program was founded at Westminster in the Spring of 1994 and achieved a record under first year Head Coach Dr. John Lindsell. However, the following year the girls made it all the way to the State Final only to be defeated by perennial powerhouse, Stratford Academy. The Lady Cats have since won the GISA Region 4AAA Title eleven times. Westminster first fielded a Boys Varsity Team in the fall of That team struggled to a season, leaving the program nowhere to go but up! The Wildcats have done exactly that compiling a record of 274 wins, 108 losses and 30 ties.
