2 Welcome Message From the President Dear Colleagues, On behalf of the organizing and scientific committees, we are pleased to welcome you to the 37 th annual conference of the Egyptian Society of Rheumatic Diseases (ESRD) on the 16 th -20 th February, 2015 in MÖVENPICK hotel, an idyllic resort nestled in Hurghada Bay on the Red Sea. After three strikes in a row in the international congress centre, Sharm El Sheikh, the most advanced congress venue in the Middle East and after a proficient meeting last year at the conference centre of Sheraton Soma bay, we are pleased to meet you again to share knowledge and clinical experience. I hope this year s meeting will be a milestone in strengthening ties between Rheumatologists throughout the region. We are very proud of our long legacy and our message to our members for this auspicious gathering is-thank you, for sharing in the ongoing success and development. The society s annual meeting is the most important in Egypt for exchange of scientific and clinical knowledge as well as an opportunity for interaction of Rheumatologists from all over the world. Stemming from our role as a grand society and confidence that the youth are the key to our success, we will continue to encourage and support young rheumatologists to join the annual EULAR conference for those who present the best cases this meeting too. This year's congress theme is on Updates in Rheumatology, which will throw light on modern innovations in the management of Rheumatic Diseases and the applicability of treatment strategies in daily practice. There will be updates on the lately developed classification criteria and highlights on the new biologics which has made it crucial to try to straighten out recommendations and guidelines for their use at different disease stages.
