4 MYANMAR (BURMA) MERQUI ISLANDS (BURMA BANKS) Mergui (Myeik islands also known as the Burma Banks) has the untouched archipelago, with 800 islands. This is an incredibly extensive and beautiful archipelago, much of which has probably never been explored. The corals are in great condition with plenty of fishes, crystal clear water, immaculate white sandy beaches with rainforest as backdrops, they make the perfect picture for holiday dreams. Mergui offers fantastic diving and February to March attracts whale sharks and manta rays. To cut a long story short: The islands and surrounding seas are alive with an amazing diversity of flora, fauna and rare beautiful underwater scenes with its marine life. 5 ANDAMAN & ISLANDS The Andaman consists 572 islands, big and small, inhabited and uninhabited. The islands is lying in the South Eastern Part of the Bay of Bengal, belonging to India. Topographically the islands are hilly in places fringed with coconut palm, covered with tropical jungle and interspersed with flat stretches of crescent shaped beaches and clear water, a marvelous mix of nature. To the east of the island group is a cluster of small islands known as the Ritchie s Archipelago. These islands are one of the few amazing islands in the world, which has lots of hidden natural beauty on land as well as in deep sea. It s a once in a lifetime holiday experience to go here and a visit to Elephant Beach at Havelock Island is just a must. Port Blair Ritchie s Island Cinqui Island

6 The limousines will pick you up at the airport and bring you to Surin Beach only 45 minutes away. The beach is located on the western side of the peninsula where Moecca is waiting. We can either stay here or we move south to Freedom beach. Only 1 hour away for an afternoon relaxing, swimming, jet skiing and snorkeling makes for a perfect introduction. We leave in the evening for Surin Island and arrive early morning the next day. Day 1

7 Surin is a National Park and the last Island in Thailand before entering Myanmar waters. The Island have beaches and crystal clear water that are amongst the most beautiful in the world. It s amazing and you may only see the locals on the Island. To buy fresh fish from the fishermen's is one of the highlights and the chef will be happy to prepare it for the dinner. We will stay until late evening and leave for Victoria point (Kawktaung) where we do the check in before we enter the fantastic Mergui archipelago in Myanmar Day 2

8 We will have and early morning arrival in to Kawthaung Port (Victoria point), in the very south of Myanmar. Clear Immigration and Customs formalities. A guide is required to come along who have the very best local knowledge on the Islands. Below we have proposed a few Islands but this can easily be changed if you so wish. Ones cleared we depart and steam to the first Island only a few hours away. Drop anchor in this beautiful spot where you can visit the beach, snorkel, Diving kayaking, fishing, swimming and sunbathing on the beach. In the early morning we move to 115 Island where we will be when you wake up. Day 3

9 Pan Daung 115 After breakfast you can explore the 115 Island and enjoy the un spoilt beauty of this tropical paradise. Bird watching, jungle trekking snorkeling, diving, kayaking, water sport activities or why don t explore by Zodiac is only a few activities to do here. In the afternoon we can cruise slowly north west along the islands to view the beautiful scenery and drop anchor in one of the beautiful bays. Day 4

10 Lampi Island is one of the popular island in Mergui archipelago. After breakfast why not go for bird watching, trekking, jungle river exploration by Zodiac. In the mid afternoon we can cruise slowly north along the west coast of Lampi Island. In the evening we drop anchor at Wa Ale Kyun Island. Its clear water, good snorkelling and two very beautiful beaches give a good reason to go ashore and explore the island. During the night we cross to Pan Daung. Day 5

11 Pan Daung. This Island have 3 very beautiful bays to stop at. Annakena Bay, the beach is approximately 1 mile long, with a tidal river at the southern end ideal for kayaking and dinghy exploration trips. Antarctiga Bay, a beautiful anchorage. This is another great area for wildlife enthusiasts with superb kayaking and jungle walking. Yannekee Bay, another ideal anchorage for jungle walks, kayaking and wildlife viewing. The northern island has spectacular limestone karsts similar to Phang Nga Bay in Thailand. If you look carefully you will find a lagoon hidden inside the island with access through caves that you can swim through. From here we will move to Mergui town for check out. Day 6-7

12 We reach Mergui (Myeik) town in the afternoon for clearing out of Burma. The same evening we start the crossing towards Port Blair in the Andaman Islands. A crossing of 35 hours. In the 18th century, Mergui was a port belonging to the Thai Ayutthaya Kingdom. It became an important trading center, especially for the Europeans, who would land at Mergui, travel upriver to Tanintharyi (Tenasserim) and then cross the mountains to reach Ayutthaya. Day 8

13 Day 9 will be spend in open water and the next day before lunch we arrive to Port Blair. Here you will have the chance to explore the remnants of the British Raj Headquarters on Ross Island, while in Port Blair itself you can visit the infamous Cellular Jail where Indian freedom fighters were held during British colonial times. For the next couple of days we cruise around the Islands except those islands that are strictly out-of-bounds, like North Sentinel, where the indigenous tribes are among the last people to remain totally untouched by the modern world. We start with Cinque Islands, only 2 hours away on a southerly course. Day 9-10

14 Cinque Islands. The lure of underwater coral gardens and unspoiled beaches specially a sand bar joining two islands are irresistible. Super place for SCUBA diving, snorkeling, swimming and fishing. Here there is a great area for anchorage and exploring, trekking through the islands where rare birds can be seen. In south Cinque there are dolphins, turtles and manta rays. Day 11

15 Havelock Islands Passage to north to the Havelock and Lawrence Islands. There is a village on the North coast of Havelock where you can swim with an elephant in the ocean. There is good fishing around these islands, as well as sea kayaking through pristine Mangroves. The water is crystal clear, sun soaked beaches and strips of silvery sand draw beach buffs to Havelock. Spectacular coral reefs and colorful fish that make this a great spot for snorkeling and scuba diving. Havelock presents a slice of adventure, tossed in bright sunshine and garnished with a cool blue of the ocean. Day 12

16 Lawrence Island and Button Islands. South Button Island has one of the best coral reef for snorkeling in the Andaman Islands. The coral gardens on the north and east side of the islands are shallow enough to snorkel on, the diversity and density of the coral is quite amazing and the reef fish are bright and lively. You will see turtles and Juvenile Barracuda. Take the kayaks and explore the rivers that meander through the mangrove forest that make up most of Henry Lawrence Island. The distance between these islands are short and only a few hours away. Day 13-14

17 We leave this fauna, underwater world garden and silvery sand draw beaches with the memory of what we have experienced and explored. A unique trip only a few have done. We steam back to Port Blair to either do the clearance to steam back to Phuket with Moecca or if you wish to fly by private jet. Commersial airlines only have domestic flights. Day 15
