1 TITLE CHOOSING HEALTH Priority area(s) CHOOSING HEALTH TARGET(S) Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Smoke Free Alliance Reducing the numbers of people who smoke Reduce adult smoking rates (from 26% in 2002) to 21% or less by 2010, with a reduction in prevalence among routine manual groups (from 31% in 2002) to 26% or less AIMS To reduce exposure to second-hand smoke To champion smoke-free environments OBJECTIVES To co-ordinate and support the Cornwall Smoke Free Alliance To co-ordinate the development, monitoring and review of the smoking prevention strategy in C&IoS To represent the Smoke Free Alliance at appropriate partnerships To maintain a media profile To support, and contribute to, the tobacco control priorities, targets and initiatives of partnership organisations ACTIVITY from APR 05 by PCT area (include quantitative data where possible) Central Cornwall PCT Area Organisation of a seminar regarding Smoke Free status in other Trusts with speakers from Scarborough government alliance at Carrick and Restormel District Councils Part of People Strategy launch at County Hall Revised smoking policy introduced at Falmouth Town Council Smoke Free Guide 10 th anniversary award presentation
