Fully-glazed fire and smoke protection elements Visibility windows Hörmann delivers a wide range of fully-glazed, smoke-tight, T30 and T90 tubular frame parts. You can choose between three different models: the steel S-line, steel N-line and aluminium. All of these models are matching in appearence and available to a maximum height of 4.5 m. The side assemblies make an infinite number of widths possible. Hörmann visibility glazing is used as window or room-high elements to provide more light and an improved line of view. Visibility glazing is also available for special requirements, i.e. in heat and acoustic insulation or radiation-proof versions, as well as in the fire-retarding F30 and fire-resistant F90 variants. All Hörmann facility-construction products can be found on Page Internal doors for construction projects/stainless-steel doors Flush, steel fire doors Internal doors for construction projects The doors, which have been especially developed for demanding day-to-day operation in industry, trade and at authorities, are extremely sturdy, rigid in form and highly durable. What is more, this range excels through its wide range of colours, fixtures and fittings. The special feature of these steel fire doors is the flush, elegant design that matches the T30, T90 and smoke-tight versions. Individual glazings, concealed door closers, a DIN-compliant panic function, monitoring contacts and electric door openers are also available on request. Stainless-steel doors Clean rooms have their own special set of requirements. Hörmann supplies a series of special solutions for exactly these requirements including stainless-steel fire doors and flaps, and stainless-steel, multi-purpose, single and double-leaf doors with matching looks. These doors are smoke-sealed, sound-proofed, and break-in resistant when combined with the appropriate fixtures and fittings. 9

T30 fire-retarding T90 fire-retarding steel doors steel doors Smoke-tight doors Sound-proof doors Fire-retarding steel doors are tested to DIN 4102-T5 or DIN EN and approved for use by the general construction supervision authorities. In fire tests these doors must resist heat of up to approx. 820 C for at least 30 minutes according to the temperature time curve. Fire-resistant steel doors to DIN 4102-T5 or DIN EN are also tested and officially approved. In fire tests these doors must resist temperatures of up to 1000 C for at least 90 minutes according to the temperature time curve. Temperature time curve to DIN 4102/DIN EN Smoke-tight doors are tested in accordance with DIN or DIN EN and must be equipped with one of the door seals and door closers (TS 4000 standard) listed below. Another requirement is that fire doors have to be equipped with a profile cylinder (a blind cylinder can also be used). The edges of the plaster flush to the frame must be sealed permanently on both sides of the structural bulk Sound-proof doors are tested to DIN ISO They are supplied with one of the door seals featured below. The acoustic value reflects lab results for an air-gap of 1010 mm from the FFL to the bottom edge of the door leaf. The sizes do not apply to doors with glazing, fixed top panel and fitting in gas concrete. The calculatory value for the acoustic value attainable in the facility is a lab value of - 5 db. High acoustic-rated doors are equipped with 2 retractable bottom seals and a threshold profile with seal. Acoustic values of up to 53 db can thus be attained. Bottom Door Seals Hörmann's expertise in fire-protection is not just restricted to Germany. Several designs correspond to the British Standard (BS) and are also approved for use in large parts of the Commonwealth. Hörmann also has permits for countries like France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Russia, Poland, Hungary and Slovenia. We also have permits in China, where Hörmann itself produces fire doors for the local market. Security doors are tested to DIN ENV 1627, Resistance Class WK3, and are Class A VdS-recognised. Description of culprit: the thief now attempts to break open the locked door with 2 screwdrivers, a crow bar and wedges. Resistance time: 5 minutes Recommended application: increased security on added risk. WK3 Fixtures and Fittings Multiple-point locking system with mortice lock prepared for profile cylinder with lever and 2 additional bolt locks (with 2-leaf doors: fixed leaf with secured rebate bolt lock, (locks upwards and downwards). Aluminium FS lever handle set to DIN 18257, Class ES2 escutcheon and pull-off protection. DIN P2 profile cylinder, drill-proof on both sides, 3 keys and security certificate. 5 security bolts per leaf, leverage-proof, 2-leaf. Doors fitted with secured strip-bolts. Security doors are tested to DIN ENV 1627 Resistance Class WK4, and are Class B VdS-recognised. Description of culprit: the experienced thief also uses saws and hammers and a battery-powered drill. Resistance time: 10 minutes Recommended application: increased security on added risk. WK4 Fixtures and Fittings Multiple-point locking system with mortice lock prepared for profile cylinder with lever and 3 additional bolt locks. Aluminium FS lever handle set to DIN 18257, Class ES3 with long escutcheon and pull-off protection. DIN P3 profile cylinder, drill-proof on both sides, 3 keys and security certificate. 5 security bolts per leaf, leverage-proof, hinge sets with secured hinge bolts. ATEX Atmospheric explosionprotection serves to control explosion-protection for industry and mining in Europe. According to ATEX 94/9/EC, doors represent a type of equipment that is a potential source of fire. This applies to doors per se, and also applies to all components that can be built into or attached to doors. Hörmann multifunctional doors made of steel are certified to ATEX 94/9/EC and can be used in Zones 1 and 21 and Zones 2 and

12 Frame: Hörmann steel doors are supplied as standard with a solid, 2 mm thick, system angle buck with a 30 mm floor recess. They are equipped with a sealing profile and grouting lugs welded on. In addition they are also supplied with profile frames, GKF frames or block frames with special attachment systems (refer to page 42-43). Surface: door leafs and frames are galvanized and primed (powder coated) in grey-white (similar to RAL 9002). Matching looks down to the last detail. Lock: Hörmann steel doors are equipped as standard with a mortice lock and a lever prepared for a profile cylinder to DIN Break-in resistant doors are fitted with multiplepoint locking with additional bolt locks (refer to page 11). With 2-leaf doors the fixed leaf is secured with a rebate latch or rebate locking bolt on the top and bottom panels depending on their function. Lever handle set: Hörmann steel doors are equipped as standard with an FS round lever handle set in black (polypropylene), with a short escutcheon, a securely fitting knob and a deadlock insert with a key. Break-in resistant doors are supplied with a FS-security lever handle set to DIN 18257, Class ES1 (with short escutcheon) or ES2/ES3 (with long escutcheon) (refer to page 9). Optional lever handle sets with various surface finishes can be found on Page 38. Rebate form: Hörmann multifunctional doors are available as flat, thin (standard) or thick-rebate models. 12

13 Locking systems: fire and smoke-protection doors close automatically as standard. With 1-leaf doors a flat spring closes the door. Large and heavy 1-leaf doors and all 2-leaf, smoke-protection and glazed doors are supplied with a door-closer (TS 4000). Please refer to Page 38 for other locking systems. Hinges: Hörmann multifunctional doors are supplied with heavy-duty, ball-bearing hinge sets. Depending on the size of the door, each door-leaf is fitted with 2 or 3 sets of hinges. Stainless steel hinge sets can also be supplied if you wish for sophisticated looks (not in the case of break-in-resistant models). Matching System Looks Glazing: the glazing profiles on Hörmann steel doors have a very slim design for sophisticated looks. They are supplied in galvanized steel and primed (powder coated) in grey-white (similar to RAL 9002) as standard. They are also available in brushed stainless steel or with anodized, natural-finish, aluminium cover profiles. Various types of rectangular glazing, round or diamond-shaped glazing and individual shapes and arrangements are available in different forms. Refer to Page Security bolts: on fire and smoke-protection doors, steel security bolts on the hinge side provide additional stability in the case of a fire. Fire-resistant door models to DIN ENV 1627 are simultaneously secured against being levered up by as many 5 solid-steel security bolts per door-leaf. The door featured is equipped with extras including stainless-steel hinges, a stainless-steel glazing frame and an overhead door closer in stainless-steel look. 13
