3 About the 8 th Annual For the eighth time, senior executives from the pharma and biotech industries gathered in October 2015 at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Boston for one of the longest-running American Leaders conferences. The speaker panel 8th Annual Project and Portfolio Management for Pharma and Biotech, chaired by Covance s Executive Director, Frank Makosiej, featured senior executives from the biggest names in the industry: including companies such as AstraZeneca, Novartis or Daiichi Sankyo. The two-day program was split into interactive sessions, providing delegates with practical solutions to the biggest issues in today s pharma PPM. Special focus was placed on strategic alignment thanks to the Building an Action Plan feature. After each session, delegates were dedicated space to work on implementing the newly-gained knowledge in their companies and to discuss strengths, weaknesses and limitations. During the two conference days, delegates discussed their opinions and shared their experience on portfolio risk management, decision-making, prescriptive modelling and data analysis for pharma portfolios, among other topics.
