2 Catalyst Life Services held their Annual meeting on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in the lobby of The Rehab Center. Board Chairman, Dan Wiegand welcomed all in attendance. Wiegand recognized the service and commitment of two retiring Board Members, Tim Babcock (12 years of service) and Don Plotts (10 years of service). He also acknowledged incoming Board Member, Don Hoover. The President and CEO, Veronica Groff presented the State of the Agency Report, covered in the following pages. A Message From The President And CEO Our initiatives continue to enhance the depth and breadth of the services we offer. Our partnerships and program successes provide the picture of Catalyst Life Services. Our partnerships are a critical component to resolving the challenges we face today. They exist within our community, extend to the State of Ohio and reach our Federal Government. There are three basic requirements to establish a mutually beneficial partnership. We will work together to: n Enhance the functioning of individuals, families and our community n Ensure the safety of all in a volatile environment n Accomplish the project in the most fiscally responsible manner We benefit from over 150 in-depth agency partnerships and 200 individual partners. These include healthcare systems, individual health providers, nonprofit and profitable organizations, educational institutions (pre-school, k-12, college and adult education), manufacturing companies, safety forces, municipalities and county, state and federal government officials/departments. We are truly grateful for the relationships that have been established. In the following pages, I will describe two programs that have significantly grown in the 2014 fiscal year through today. We have many more beneficial programs viewable online at Mission Catalyst Life Services an agent of change, guiding the people Statement we serve to lead more fulfilling lives.

Alcohol & Drug Services And Mental Health Services The issues facing the community, from a drug/alcohol and mental illness perspective, go far beyond what many of us would have imagined a decade ago. All of us have been in some way affected by the tragedies associated with substance abuse and/or mental illness. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost loved ones and with individuals in recovery and their families, as they move forward. At Catalyst Life Services, we understand the importance of identifying solutions for this epidemic. Over the past two years, our programs expanded in the following ways: n Aligned all possible resources to form partners in eliminating treatment gaps n Collaborated with other service providers to more efficiently utilize funding n Demonstrated every door is the right door by removing barriers to access n Opened a Crisis Stabilization Unit that addresses alcohol and drug addiction and mental health crises n Provided medication assisted treatment in partnership with Third Street Family Health Services n Worked with the Richland County Jail to provide incarceration services Pictured from left to right: Elaine Surber Associate Director and Director of New Beginnings Alcohol & Drug Treatment Services, Traci Killiany, Dan Wiegand, Veronica Groff and Regis Killiany Traci and Regis Killiany accepts an award for their inspiring message of hope for those in recovery at New Beginnings. n Worked with Richland County to treat post-jail term clients and provide court assessments n Enhanced our access procedures n Connected those suffering from alcohol and drug addiction and mental health with the Progress Industries and Precise Services programs to provide work for those in the early stages of treatment n Developed a program (in partnership with Jobs & Family Services) to help those with compromised backgrounds obtain work n Expanded our preventative services at the Oasis Peer Center and developed a Warmline to help those experiencing crisis n Provided more services to schools n Provided more early childhood mental health services n Supplied tools to new and existing staff members to become advocates for our clients Pictured from left to right: Dr. Debra Panke Vice President of Child & Adolescent Program, Patricia Harrelson Executive Director at Richland County Children Services, Veronica Groff and Dan Wiegand Patricia Harrelson, Richland County Children Services accepts an award acknowledging her ongoing spirit of collaboration in working on behalf of the children in our community. Pictured from left to right: Veronica Groff, Tanya Haga Coordinator of Deaf Services and ASL Interpreter, Dan Wiegand and Katie Scheetz Katie Scheetz, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, accepts an award in appreciation for her work in enhancing the quality of life for many in the deaf community.
4 VOCATIONAL SERVICES The key element of our successful treatment plan is connecting those involved in our programs with vocational services. Additionally, others from outside our system can participate in the Vocational Services Program. These services focus on empowering people to become productive for themselves, their families and the community. Pictured from left to right: Christen Hutchison Director of Vocational Services, Veronica Groff, Wayne Motley and Dan Wiegand Wayne Motley accepts an award acknowledging his service to the Progress Industries Advisory Committee and his contribution to the efficiencies of their industrial workshop. Catalyst Life Services boasts two strong vocational programs to serve this purpose: Progress Industries and Precise Services. PROGRESS INDUSTRIES Our factory/industrial work center is where we employ individuals for finishing work, packaging and remaking for businesses and factories in the surrounding area. In February of 2014, we honored Next Generation Films at the Rehab Telethon for providing an abundance of packaging work. Progress Industries houses our screen printing and embroidery areas. It also includes the vocational programming department. Here, we assign people work in the community. In the collective division, we put over 400 people to work a year. We have approximately 230 active contracts including: Next Generation Films, Taylor Metal and Jay Industries. PRECISE SERVICES Pictured from left to right: Christen Hutchison, Melanie Riggleman, Veronica Groff and Dan Wiegand Melanie Riggleman accepts an award on behalf of Gorman-Rupp s generous contributions to the Progress Industries Vocational Program. Melanie also serves as Chairman of the Progress Advisory Committee and as Treasurer on the Board of Directors. Precise Services is our lawn care and janitorial service branch. Those enrolled are actively employed by nearly 60 client employees who service approximately 50 contracts locally and with the State of Ohio. Precise employees are trained to ensure that commercial and residential clients are satisfied with the labor. Precise Services Success Story Just a quick note to express our appreciation for the services of your company with our landscaping needs. We were very happy with the new walkway that was laid using our old sandstone. I also appreciate the reseeding of the grass area and your concern for our satisfaction with the job. We ll be sure to call again if we have any more projects. Progress Industries Workshop Pictured from left to right: Veronica Groff, Zoi Romanchuk and Dan Wiegand Zoi Romanchuk accepts an award on behalf of her husband Honorable Mark Romanchuk. This award acknowledges Mr. Romanchuk for his dedication to the welfare of our community and for his ongoing support of Progress Industries and its vocational programs.
5 Moving Forward We project that future enhancements will include: n Evidence-based permanent supportive housing n Expanded availability of the drug Vivitrol to treat heroin addiction n Enhanced integration of mental health, alcohol and drug and medical care n Transitional youth services n Trauma-informed care n Parent education n School liaison n Expanding early childhood treatment n Continued expansion of Vocational Services Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Work Readiness One Strike & You re Not Out! In Conclusion: With the continued commitment of our community partners, the dedication of our Board of Directors and our talented staff, Catalyst Life Services will strive to meet the challenges of tomorrow while fulfilling our mission today. Being an agent of change to help the people we serve lead more fulfilling lives.
