8 Building Information Modelling model-based approach with NEVARIS icebim NEVARIS icebim the efficient and comprehensive modelbased approach to planning and execution. In conjunction with conventional 3D CAD software (e.g. Graphisoft ArchiCAD, Autodesk Revit), NEVARIS icebim enables the creation of a data-consistent and intelligent 3D building model that is saved in the central NEVARIS icebim database. This building model lies at the heart of all editing processes and is the basis on which the quantities are calculated for constructing the building and the interior works, including cavity walls, facades, roof and steel construction. Tender, award, invoicing and costing can all access this information in the NEVARIS icebim database for all application areas. Furthermore, the connection flows in both directions. Harnessing this functionality enables perfect linking of alphanumeric data, such as BoQ items or costing calculations for equipment, materials and staff from TAI or the costing and the 3D building model. This link can also be graphically evaluated at any time and visualised on the building model.
