4 New statewide accountability system that replaces the federal Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) The CCRPI score for each school is calculated on a 100-point scale from three components: Achievement Points [70%] include state standardized tests, SAT, ACT, graduation rates, core courses passed, AP, and career pathways. Progress Points [15%] gauge the growth students achieve from year to year. Achievement Gap Points [15%] measure the difference between performance of student groups.

8 The District average score of 1515 is 63 points higher than the state average and 17 points higher than the national average. 81% of 2013 graduates took the SAT. With a composite score of 22.1, 2013 marks the eighth consecutive year Cobb graduates exceeded national, state averages on the ACT in all four subject areas (English, Math, Reading & Science).

9 Participation in challenging courses has grown 184% since In 2012 and 2013, 15 Cobb high schools were recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as AP Honor Schools for increasing AP access and participation. Cobb is among just 388 public school systems in the U.S. to earn a place on the College Board s AP Achievement List for expanding access to rigorous AP coursework.

20 Stacey Osborne Duffy of Mountain View Elementary was announced as statewide Elementary Science Teacher of the Year by the Georgia Science Teachers Association. Jamee Douglas, fifth grade teacher at Big Shanty Elementary was named 2012 Champion of the Year by the Georgia Clean Air Campaign as part of the organization s PACE awards program. Georgia Council of Teachers of Mathematics honored Deborah Poss of Lassiter High with the organization s highest honor, the Gladys M. Thompson Distinguished Service Award. Michelle Mikes, District 6-12 math supervisor received the John Neff Award for Excellence, reserved for supervisors who inspire and mentor fellow teachers and advocate for math education.

21 Media center staffs at McClure Middle, Belmont Hills Elementary and Russell Elementary received 2012 Exemplary/Exceptional Library Media Program Awards from the Georgia Department of Education. Howard Siggelko and the CCSD Office of Records Management given 2012 Award for Excellence in Archival Program Development from the Georgia Historical Records Advisory Board. Erica McDonald, instructor at the Cobb/Paulding Adult Education Center, recently received the Teacher of Honor award from the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education. Veteran bus driver Michael Graham took top honors for the Cobb County Bus Road-e-o for a third straight year. Ford Elementary named Georgia National Green Ribbon School.
