1 21 day Self Drive Tour from Brisbane to Cairns, Queensland, Australia One of the most fascinating drives up the eastern seaboard of Queensland, Australia. 21 days self drive is the way to really experience this adventure. With so many fantastic places to visit, this tour is a must for those who want to explore, from the city of Brisbane to the tropical city of Cairns in the far north of Queensland. We have set out during the 21 days easy driving and suggestions on what to see where to go and what to do on your journey but with the knowledge of knowing where you will be staying each night. A 2 or more nights stay in each spot is included, so you will be able to experience and explore each local area. If you want to add days to each location you can do this, but it must be done prior to finalising your reservation. Accommodation is in deluxe apartments throughout, all of which have been selected by Pack Ya Bags staff. All are high standard. I bedroom for 2 persons and 2 bedroom for 3 or 4 persons. The accommodation is of high standard and in excellent well positioned areas. Please note. A car bond will be required by the car hire company on pick up of the vehicle.

After signing the relevant hire car documents its time to head north on the first leg of your journey to the Sunshine Coast. Overnight Mooloolaba in your deluxe apartment. Day 2: Explore, relax or follow your own interest in the exciting sunshine coast. Overnight Moolooaba. Day 3: After your leisurely breakfast you will follow the Bruce Highway north through the old gold mining area of Gympie and onto Maryborough, the gateway to Hervey Bay and Fraser Island. Overnight Hervey Bay in your deluxe apartment. Day 4: Today you can explore the area, take a trip to Fraser Island or even extend your stay. Overnight Hervey Bay. Day 5: Today you take a different route north onto the town of Bundaburg, perhaps famous for it's rum, however Bundaburg has much more to offer. After your brief exploration of Bundaburg it is off the the famous and historical town of 1770 where Captain Cook first landed in, as you guessed, Overnight Agnes Waters in your deluxe apartment. Day 6: Another day in Paradise in this great unknown part of the world. You can take a trip to Lady Musgrove Island if you feel like getting out and about on the inviting lure of the sea.

3 Overnight Agnes Waters. Day 7: Leaving the town of 1770 you rejoin the Bruce Highway driving onto Rockhampton, the centre of the cattle industry in central Queensland. After a short stay to look around the city, you will head just a little north until the turn off to Yepoon, a seaside town with great views of the departure point for Great Keppel Island. Overnight Yeppoon in your deluxe apartment. Day 8: Take a day trip to the island, extend your stay, explore or just laze around. Overnight Yeppoon. Day 9: Leaving Yeppoon we head up to Mackay, a bustling sugar city, although there is a lot more to Mackay than sugar. Today is perhaps your longest drive of your tour (approx 360klms) driving from Marlborough to Sarina. This road was only created in the 1980,s effectively closing down the inland route. Overnight at Black Beach Mackay in your deluxe apartment. Day 10: Overnight in Black Beach, Mackay. Day 11: Today it's onto the fabulous Whitsunday region. The area boasts 74 islands within easy reach of the mainland from the towns of Airlie Beach, Cannonvale and Shute Harbour. You will be staying here for 3 nights but you may extend. Airlie Beach with it's many shops and cafes is the ideal base for your stay in the Whitsundays. Overnight in deluxe apartment. Day 12: Time to explore the islands, maybe go diving, visit the Great Barrier Reef or the famous and pure white sand of Whitehaven. Overnight Airlie Beach. Day 13: Another day to explore this fantastic area. You can extend your stay here if you prefer a little longer or stay on one of the islands such as the fabulous Daydream Island. Overnight Airlie Beach. Day 14: Leaving the Whitsundays behind, you re-join the Bruce Highway to continue your trip north. Dropping in to towns such as Bowen, Homehill and Ayr you will make your way to Townsville, the home of the Cowboys rugby league side and the famous tropical aquarium. Overnight Townsville in your deluxe apartment. Day 15: Today you should take a trip over to Magnetic Island, just a short ride by ferry. In the evening, try your luck in the casino. Overnight Townsville. Day 16: Heading further north into the far north tropics of Australia you will pass through the sugar town of Ingham, on to Tully and your next stop, the beautiful Mission Beach. Maybe here you wll see the largest bird in Australia (by weight) the Cassowary. Overnight Mission Beach in your deluxe apartment. Day17: A day to relax or take a rainforest walk. Overnight Mission Beach. Day 18: The final leg of your self drive holiday, you are now on the way to Cairns, one of the top holiday spots in Australia. There is so much to do in Cairns with just about everyone's tastes catered for, from diving or snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef, golf, great shopping, walks, lots of places to relax and superb restaurants, to the tropical highlands or northern World Heritage coast. Overnight Cairns in your deluxe apartment. Day 19: Maybe explore Cairns a little, take a trip to the reef, the rainforest or the tablelands. Overnight Cairns. Day 20: Today maybe it is time to make the small journey north to Port Douglas, which really is a must with a beautiful coastal drive. One of the best bird sanctuaries is based in this town. Overnight Cairns Day 21: Take the car back to the depot in Cairns or Brisbane if you are doing the reverse trip. You may extend your stay if you have the time.

4 Day 1 and 2 Sunshine Coast details Fantastic coastline and lush hinterland, wonderful food, action, sports and adventure or just the perfect place to sit on the beach and read a book. The Coast begins at Caloundra, just one hour's drive north of Brisbane. The area includes the tranquil hinterland and the famous Glass House Mountains, Blackall Range, Noosa Hinterland and the Mary Valley; as well as more than 100 kilometres of beaches stretching through the coastal towns of Caloundra, Kawana, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Coolum Beach, Noosa and Rainbow Beach. On the way to the sunshine coast we suggest you take the Glass House Mountains road and visit the Australian Zoo, the home of the 'crocodile hunter' Steve Irwin. The zoo is very interactive and a must visit. The animals have huge areas to roam. Other attractions to see will be the Underwater World, Big Pineapple, SuperBee, Ginger Factory. For the kart thrill there is the Big Kart Track and of course the must see Ettamogah Pub On the sunshine coast itself there are many things to keep you entertained such as surfing, and maybe among others diving on the HMAS Brisbane sunk in 2005 to create a great diving spot. 5 Day 3 and 4 Fraser Coast details A couple of hundred kilometres further on from Noosa is the Fraser Coast, an area of wide bays and historical towns. First up is Gympie the site for the 1867 goldrush. A visit to the Gold mining museum is well worth it and you could even try your hand at panning for the gold stuff at Deep Creek fossicking area. Maybe a ride on the Mary Valley Heritage railway if you like trains. Maryborough is one of the oldest cities in Queensland being born in 1847 as a wool port. The old Queenslander building are among the best example of the by gone age. Hervey Bay is renowned for its natural features and environment including calm waters, beaches, the annual whale migration, world heritage listed Fraser Island and the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Fraser Island is a world listed heritage site and is the largest coastal dune system and sand island in the world. You will have a day to explore. A suggestion is to stay an extra day in this area if you have the time. Extra days must be requested at the time of reservation. 6 Day 5 and 6 Bundaburg 1770 and Agnes waters The clean white sand beaches around Agnes Water have to be seen to be believed, from the small secluded coves and inlets to the broad expanse of Bustard Bay and the Agnes Beach itself. Agnes Water is directly on the ocean front and has the most northern surf beach in Queensland. Its great weather and get away from it all ambiance make it a perfect holiday location. The Town Of 1770 is a picturesque seaside village surrounded on three sides by the Coral Sea and Bustard Bay. Historic as the second landing site of Lieutenant James Cook and the crew of the Endeavour in May 1770, the area is rich in wildlife and natural beauty and offers scenic vistas in every direction. The Town of 1770 is also a departure point for day reef cruises and fishing charters to the outer Great Barrier Reef and day tours and wilderness camping transfers operate to nearby Lady Musgrave Island. Day tours also operate to Fitzroy Reef, Pancake Creek and the historic Bustard Heads lighthouse. There are many things to do in this region including, diving, fishing, trips out to the reef and don't forget the ride on the LARC a pink amphibious vehicle that takes you across crystal clear waterways, along endless stretches of sandy beaches to the isolated Bustard Headland. 7 Day 7 and 8 Capricorn Coast details, Yeppoon and Rockhampton Swim, snorkel, scuba dive, parasail, windsurf, fish golf, ride a horse or even a camel, the Capricorn coastline is dotted with uncrowded picturesque townships and unspoilt beaches, in fact 13 beautiful beaches stretch along the 16km of Scenic Highway between Yeppoon and Emu Park. Just ten minutes from Yeppoon is the Rydges Capricorn Resort with two world-class golf courses, 22 hectares of wetlands and two of the largest freshwater swimming pools in the Southern Pacific. You will see Great Keppel Island from Yeppoon, so maybe a visit would be in order. There is great diving also to be had from this area and one of the best golf courses in Queensland The gateway to the coast is "Rocky", the Beef Capital of Australia. Rocky is a mix of heritage, lifestyle and real country friendliness. Rockhampton is also gateway to the outback. A must is a visit to the caves on the northern side of Rockhampton. 8 Day 9 and 10 Mackay details The Mackay region is an inviting blend of secluded beaches, elusive wildlife and rural communities. It is also a centre for the sugar industry. Mackay city, is a vibrant city with lovely Art Deco buildings and streets lined with palm trees. The surrounding areas are perfect for holidaying far from crowds; relaxing at secluded beaches, exploring an ancient rainforest, snorkeling the reef or strolling through a laid-back city centre, you'll love the tropical ambiance of the Mackay region The Mackay region is home to 31 white sandy beaches, including Cape Hillsborough National Park, where local wallabies come down on the beach every morning to watch the sunrise. Eungella and the Pioneer Valley boast Australia's longest stretch of subtropical rainforest, spectacular views, and one of the world's best places to spot an elusive platypus in the wild! Eimeo and Blacks Beaches are all great for swimming, fishing and walking before you get to the old Eimeo Pub, perched high on the headland at Eimeo. 9 Day 11, 12 and 13 Whitsunday Islands Coast details With more than 74 tropical islands to go at you could spend a number of weeks in the Whitsundays. The area is world renowned for it's layback lifestyle as well as knowing how to give guests a great time. From fantastic island beaches such as the famous white sands of Whitehaven, to great nightlife, adventure, fun, and just so much to do. You can take a trip to one of the many islands in many different types of vessel such as sailing boats, motor launches, fast cats, kayaks and fast ocean inflatables. Daily trips to the outer Great Barrier Reef is a must on your itinerary. The largest living thing that can be seen from space, is where you get a chance to meet the underwater life. A great experience Sports such as scuba diving, fishing, sailing, walking are just a few of the activities you can experience. Golfing can be had in Proserpine just 25 kilometres away. You do have the opportunity of extending your stay in the Whitsundays. However, this must be done at the time of reservation. 10 Day 14 and 15 Townsville and Magnetic Island details When you have an island paradise called Magnetic, right on your doorstep, it's not hard to see why people are attracted to Townsville. However, the city is even more than a magnetic destination, it's the very heart of life in the tropics extending north to Mission Beach south to the Burdekin and west to historic Charters Towers. Surrounded by a rich hinterland of tropical rainforests and waterfalls, Townsville is also close to historic gold mining towns, the outback, islands, and of course, the Great Barrier Reef. The town itself provides a snapshot of all these local features, with its world renowned Reef HQ, the world's largest living coral reef aquarium, the Billabong Sanctuary, where you can learn all about Australia's fascinating native wildlife, and many other cultural and heritage attractions like the Brolga Dreaming Aboriginal Centre. Divers have access to the Yongala Wreck, a great wreck dive site and there are also plenty of tours available to explore the local national parks and surrounding rural townships. 11 Day 16 and 17 Mission Beach details With more than 14 km of magnificent golden sandy beaches. Surely the phrase 'where the rainforest meets the beach' was coined here at Mission Beach. Long stretches of clean golden sands with, in most places, the rainforest literally fringing the pristine beach have given the area a very unique reputation. Offshore are the beautiful Family Group of islands including the famous Dunk and Bedarra Islands, and just south is the largest island National Park in the world, Hinchinbrook Island. Dunk Island is probably one of the best known of Australia's tropical islands. The rainforest around Mission Beach is in the World Heritage wet tropics region and is home to the Southern Cassowary (Casuarius casarius) which is now listed as an endangered species. Despite being a bird, the Cassowary is Australia's largest land animal. It normally weighs about 60kg, but the heaviest recorded was a 94.5kg monster found north of Mission Beach in Cassoway birds can often be spotted wondering across roads, through resorts, parks and fields and even residential lawns and gardens. There are some great forest walks in this region so perhaps put on the walking shoes.

From here you can travel into the rainforest, up the coast to Port Douglas and Daintree, out to the Great Barrier Reef and the Coral Sea, out to the back of Cairns and onto the Atherton Tablelands. There is so much to do here for all tastes, whether you want to relax or get into the adventure. It has it all. If you are into water again a trip to the reef is well worth it. If you are a diver stay on and do a liveaboard dive trip on a boat like Taka Go and see the wildlife or eat at one of the hundreds of restaurants, shop till you drop and for the golfers you have the choice of a number of courses. With a backdrop of mountains and the front vision of the ocean Cairns and its district is truly a wonderful area to finish your tour.

The Hyundai and Nissan is usually for 2 to 3 persons and the Toyota for 3 to 4 persons. As all vehicles belong to midrange grouping, a request can be made for a particular vehicle but no guarantee can be made on the make and model. Please read the below details concerning your car hire, especially extra insurance cover. Conditions for Car Rental (Australia) Summary of Rental Conditions This document contains a brief summary of our rental conditions. The full details of our rental contract do apply. Rates quoted are in Australian dollars. Kilometre Allowance Unlimited Kilometres Depots Apollo has car depots in Adelaide, Alice Springs, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Depots are open seven days a week, 8am to 4:30pm. Depots will be closed Christmas Day, New Years Day and Good Friday. Transfer Vehicles must be collected and returned to our depots (not airports). Transfers to and from the Apollo depot are not included in the rental price. It is the client s responsibility to get to and from the depot. Taxes Our rates include 10% GST. A charge of 2% of the total cost will be levied to cover state government taxes, duties

14 and associated costs. Driver s License and Minimum Age On pick up of the vehicle a valid, non-provisional, State, Overseas or International license is required to be presented in person by all people wishing to drive the vehicle. The licence must be in English characters for our staff to read. The minimum age to drive the vehicle is 21 years. Baby Seats Baby seats (must be pre-booked) suitable for children under 3 years of age can be fitted to all vehicles. Cost is $20 each per rental. Booster Seats Booster seats (must be pre-booked) suitable for children between 3 and 8 years of age can be supplied for all vehicle models. Cost is $20 each per rental. Camping Kits Camping Kits suitable for two people (including a 3 person tent, built-in ground sheet, sleeping bags with personal liners, sleeping mats, crockery & cutlery, pots & pans, gas cooker, salt & pepper, containers, tea towels, personal towels, torch, maps and camping ground directories) can be supplied on request. Rate is $15 per day (maximum amount payable is $315) payable direct to Apollo. Travel Restrictions Two Wheel Drive Vehicles can only be driven on sealed/bitumen roads. Change of Vehicle We reserve the right to substitute a comparable vehicle or superior vehicle at no extra cost. This shall not constitute a breach of contract, and does not entitle the renter to any refund. Traffic Infringements We reserve the right to charge the renter for any speeding or parking fines, traffic infringements, road toll fines, associated administration costs and/or accidents, including third party property damage not reported on return of the vehicle. Limit of Liability In the event of no alternative vehicle being available to the renter our liability is limited to a refund of the hire charge or in the case of mechanical failure (unless caused by the renter) the remainder of the hire period. Cancellation Fees if cancelled less than 7 days prior to pick up - 50% of Gross Rental If cancelled on the day of pick up or no show - 100% of Gross Rental There is no refund for late pick up or early return of vehicle. Travel Insurance We strongly recommend that clients ensure they take out the highest level of Travel Insurance. PROTECTION PACKAGE Personal Injury The Vehicle is insured for damage to it or damage to the property of a third party. However you are responsible up to the amount of the applicable Liability for the cost of such damage to third party property, or to the rented Vehicle. You are also responsible for the cost of demurrage for the period the Vehicle is unavailable due to repairs. The Liability applies in respect of each claim, not per rental. The Liability is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident is reported to Apollo, not at the completion of the rental Period. The Liability will be refunded if Apollo is successful in recovering the cost of the damage from the third party. Property Damage The Vehicle is insured for damage to it or damage to the property of a third party. However you are responsible up to the amount of the applicable Liability for the cost of such damage to third party property, or to the rented Vehicle. You are also responsible for the cost of demurrage for the period the Vehicle is unavailable due to repairs. The Liability applies in respect of each claim, not per rental.

15 Standard Liability Apollo s rental charge includes a Standard Liability of $2,500. With this Option a Bond of $2,500 will be collected. The Standard Liability can be reduced by taking the following reduction option: Liability Reduction Option A Liability of $250 applies. You can purchase this Option by paying to Apollo $18 per day. The maximum amount payable by you for this Option is $720. With this Option a Bond of $250 will be collected. Single Vehicle Accident Liability If a Single Vehicle Accident (an accident involving just the rental vehicle) occurs in the Northern Territory or Western Australia an additional Liability of $500 applies. Bond On pick up of the vehicle the Bond is payable by you to Apollo by cash, traveller s cheques or by an open signed credit card (Bankcard, Visa or MasterCard) imprint with an authorization obtained for the amount of the Bond. Personal or company cheques are not accepted. The Bond is fully refundable when the Vehicle is returned to the Nominated Location on time, is full of fuel and all other terms of the Agreement have been complied with by you. If there is damage to the Vehicle on its return, the Bond will be used to cover the cost of such damage up to the amount of your relevant Liability. However if you breach the terms of the Rental Contract and the Bond is insufficient to cover the damage you will be charged for any extra cost and you shall pay that cost to Apollo upon demand. Note: If the Bond is given in cash or traveller s cheques then your passport must be presented on pick up and the refund will be by Apollo s cheque. Your Full Responsibility At all times you will be responsible for: Damage caused to the Vehicle in circumstances where terms of the Rental Contract have been breached. Damage caused by negligence. Damage caused to the Vehicle in any way by part or total water submersion or salt water. Damage caused to the Vehicle by your willful conduct. Damage or loss caused to any personal belongings.
