3 First Outokumpu concentrator set the technology development and customer approach philosophy The first Outokumpu concentrator on top of the Mysterious Hill in the Eastern part of Finland was built on a hill side to minimize pumping, increase controllability and save the scarce energy resources. This is the historical origin for our century long development philosophy for sustainable technologies and their application in a way that today focuses in the green mining philosophy. It set the course for a strong chain of innovations and technology applications in the Mining and Metallurgical areas. Today as a mining museum Outotec successfully continues this legacy by globally supplying equipment, building processes and plants and treating the effluents to meet the highest international standards.
