1 This document was created with FrameMaker PAYNE Heating & Cooling HEATING/COOLING FAN-COIL UNITS Model Sizes 018, 024 and 030 Model Heating/Cooling Fan-Coil Units are specifically designed for installation in the soffit area provided by a dropped ceiling. They can be installed with or without return-air ducts and, when connected to an outdoor unit either heat pump or air conditioning they will satisfy the demands of a split-system application. These units are available in three nominal cooling sizes: 18,000, 24,000, and 30,000 Btuh; factory-installed 3-, 5-, 6-, 7.5-, and 10- kw electric heaters are optional. FEATURES LOW-PROFILE DESIGN The 10-1/2-inch height permits the installation of these fan coils above hallways, closets, or other concealed areas. FACTORY-INSTALLED CONTROLS Model Fan Coils, with or without electric heat, are shipped completely assembled ready for installation. TRANSFORMER Each unit is equipped with a 60-va transformer that provides sufficient control power for heat pump operation. DIRECT-DRIVE BLOWERS Deliver supply air quietly and economically. Size 018 has a single blower wheel and sizes 024 and 030 have dual blower wheels. CONDENSATE DRAIN PAN AND S Plastic condensate pan with high-density insulation for long life. Primary and secondary drain connections are provided for condensate removal. CHECK-FLO-RATER REFRIGERANT METERING Eliminates the potential serviceability requirements of check valves and expansion devices. LIQUID-TUBE STRAINER A wire mesh strainer is factoryinstalled between the Check-Flo-Rater and coil to protect the piston from restriction or plugging when used with a heat pump. COIL CONSTRUCTION Closely spaced aluminum plate fins mechanically bonded to grooved copper tubes and large face area provide optimum heat transfer. REFRIGERANT TUBE S Reliable leak preventive sweat fitting is a feature of this product. LIMIT SWITCHES Thermal cutoffs provide safety for the unit and residence. FULLY INSULATED For quiet operation.
