Teaching Evaluations Open Ended Response Report School: College of Commerce Instructor: Moore, James Peter (21436) Term: Spring, Class: Marketing 595, Section: 31, Course Title: INTERNET MARKETING : Please feel free to write any comments you have related to your learning in the Student Detail The professor did a great job teaching us the important concepts of internet marketing. I learned something new every week that I directly applied Great for anybody that owns or wants to own a small business. The professor was outstanding and such a great deal of help. The book was not really helpful as I learned more from him The best marketing class I've taken at DePaul. Other teachers could learn from Professor Moore on giving real life examples and tools to succeed. He also takes the pulse of the class each week and believes in continuous improvement and respects his students. In turn, we respect his efforts and give him honest feedback.this is my last marketing class at DePaul and I have been VERY disappointed at the quality of the marketing classes offered at DePaul, and unfortunately, I'm a marketing major. This is the only one I felt was exceptional. DePaul really needs to step up their Marketing Dept. faculty. Look for professionals like Professor Moore Had I not already known a lot about this particular topic (Internet Marketing) I would have gotten much more out of the class Too much information to learn in such short of time. Homework and outside work too much.the content makes the exciting the amount of content makes it difficult to retain, understand and use The Google online marketing challenge was an exceptionally great project, which gave us an opportunity to learn competitively and diligently... Other exercises, like: blogs, website etc, also gave the exposure, of expressing views online One of the most applicable classes I've taken so far - professor taught in a way that you could act on the material instantly Generated on: 12/4/29 17:36:11 PM Page 1 of 43

: Please feel free to write any comments you have concerning the instructor's Student Detail Prof Moore is a wonderful instructor and really encourages students to become involved in class. He makes the class interesting and fun and is always accessible outside of class. He is one of the best professors I have had at DePaul Prof. Moore is quite possibly the best professor I've had here at DePaul. He is very knowledgeable and he is very good at teaching a subject to a group of people with varying degrees of exposure and interest to the topic. I would recommend his to anyone, and I would gladly take another taught by him What an asset to DePaul! The instructor is so helpful and passionate about his work. Just a great class I have no idea how he kept up with all of our stuff, but he did James was one of the best professors I've had at DePaul. He is very passionate about what he teaches and cares a great deal about what the students think and how to improve the class. He gave us weekly surveys soliciting our feedback. That's a first for me The instructor is extremely knowledgeable. I assume it is the rquirements of the university to jam so much into such a short period of time A patient and knowledgeable instructor, with great quality to articulate discussions : Please share any comments you have that were not covered above. Student Detail I think Prof. James Moore has done an excellent job teaching this and has done true justice to our $3 per fee.i would rate Prof. Moore among the best Profs in DePaul who put in efforts to prepare for the class (not get slides from previous years) and is concerned if the students understand the material or not.plus, Prof. incorporates so much latest innovation and current market conditions, it enhances your knowledge and gets you upto speed on what is happening in the real world.given an option to take this again, I would definitely take it Generated on: 12/4/29 17:36:11 PM Page 2 of 43

: Please share any comments you have that were not covered above. Student Detail I enjoyed the and learned a lot that I will directly apply Thank you for sharing your expertise. I feel much more confident in my ability to market on the internet. Is there any way you would do a refresher/update online for graduates? I liked the way the Professor used the online tools to enhance learning. The end of chapter quiz were very helpful. I also like how he asked for feedback throughout the A very very good professor - shook each student's hand on the first day and introduced himself! : Is there anything that DePaul University should do to improve your experience in on-line/blended Student Detail Make blackboard simpler and more accessible, use the basic versions - for the tools which are to be used during the. The advanced version, for all the available tools Generated on: 12/4/29 17:36:11 PM Page 3 of 43

: Is there anything that DePaul University should do to improve your experience in on-line/blended Student Detail Love the upload of class to itunes! She posted everything on COL site. She always gave us an outline of what we needed for each class for being downloaded from the COL site. : What was the most useful thing that you learned in this? Student Detail There are many useful things I have learned from this.but the most useful thing would be the complete concept of Adwords, Google tools and Google Adwords Challenge project The Google Online Challenge was one of the most useful things I learned about in this class. It was challenging but at the same time fun and I think it was a great project to pick for our class The SEO topics we covered The structure of the internet and how to be more effective and efficient when using it to market The Google Adwords Challenge, references to different resources such as web sites (google analytics, etc.) I own a small business that has a web site. Everything we learned was applicable to my business. I did not hear one person complain about the workload or what was required. Just a wonderful class Search Engine Optimization and Google AdWords campaign management The information on natural search and search engine optimization and the Google Marketing Challenge. That challenge provided the hands on experience necessary to start a paid search campaign Too many topics to pinpoint one Google tools, blogs, online marketing etc Differnet website building techniques to get listed on search engines, google online challenge The most useful item learned in this was how to use Google AdWords in a live case setting How to optimize webpages for companies Using the Internet to generate revenuehow to optimize the website to ensure trafficgoogle Adwords The most useful thing was the strategies in the work area and software-hardware Generated on: 12/4/29 17:36:11 PM Page 4 of 43

: What topics do you think should be added to future versions of this? Student Detail If you can manage to keep up with innovations in the market and if the lectures have a healthy mix of text book stuff and current market happenings, that would be great I think it would be interesting to study about some Internet marketing campaigns major corporations have done that have failed and the reasons why and also the reasons why successful campaigns have been so successful. It would be interesting to see the entire life of a marketing campaign from beginning to end Some aspect of the Google challenge should be included Not sure You really could do away with the book. I found the professor to be more relevant than the book. I will never understand why DePaul requires students to obtain books when we are paying for the knowledge of the professor. His knowledge was two fold stronger than the books possibly ask teams to create a viral campaign - or at least storyboard one. Only if google adwords competition isn't going on. that was extremely helpful and a great experience More on display marketing or social networking The instructor knows better than I If participating in a national challenge, the instructor should students to develop know-how as pre-requisite of this class, for competitive performance Banner ad creation I think more "How-To" Guides could be beneficial. I found that there was so much material to be learned that it was difficult to learn all the information in detail. Extra information about the blogging, microbloggng, etc. would be very helpful I think it would be helpful to include a website assignment. Maybe after learning about SEO creating an assignment to enhance the key ideas. We could try to make suggestions for improving a website then present it in class Seems quite comprehensivei would have loved to create the website and then analyze it using the techniques that were taught on optimization. It would have given great hands on experience Everything she uses was really useful. Generated on: 12/4/29 17:36:11 PM Page 5 of 43

DePaul really needs to step up their Marketing Dept. faculty. Look for professionals like Professor Moore.
