2 Only grave site owners are granted the right of interment in their lots. refuse interment of anyone who is not at the time the owner of the lot. Should the lot owner or funeral director fail or neglect to designate the location, the church reserves the right to make the interment in a location designated by the church. The church will not be responsible for any order given by phone or for any mistakes occurring from the want of precise proper instructions as to the particular location within a lot where interment is desired. The church will not be liable for the interment permit or the identity of the person to be interred. No interment of two or more bodies shall be made in one grave except in the following cases; 1. A parent and child may be buried in one grave/casket. 2. Up to four infants may be buried in one grave. 3. Up to three urns of ashes may be buried in one grave. 4. One body and one urn of ashes may be buried in one grave. No interment may be made in the cemetery unless all ordinances, rules and regulations regarding interments have been complied with and until the purchase price of the lot to be used and all burial fees are paid or arrangements have been made with the church. DELAY OF INTERMENTS The church will not be liable for any delay in the interment of a body when a protest to the interment has been made or where rules or regulations have not been complied with. DISINTERMENTS Written permission of the lot owner or the next of kin shall be filed with the church, and a permit if necessary, shall be secured and presented and the required fees paid before any grave may be opened for any purpose. This provision does not apply when a duly authorized authority orders disinterment. CONDITIONS OF LOT PURCHASE A purchase of a lot or lots means you have purchased the right to be buried in the church cemetery. You do not buy the ground. No lot shall be used for any purpose other than the burial of human remains and the placement of appropriate memorials as per the rules and regulations of the cemetery All lots will be sold subject to these rules and regulations or those hereafter adopted. The purchaser shall expressly agree in the deed conveying the lot that his rights are subject to such reasonable rules and regulations as the church may adopt. The deed and rules and regulations and any amendments, constitute the sale agreement between the cemetery and the lot owner.
3 CONDITIONS OF LOT PURCHASE, Con t. No easement or right or interment is granted to any plot owner in any road or walkway which may be used to access the owners lot. The church reserves and shall have the right to correct any errors in interments, disinterments or removal or conveyance of any property. No work of any kind to be done in cemetery without Cemetery Committee approval If any work is done without approval, it will be removed or redone at your or next of kin expense. No dirt removal or adding of same, no cement work, head or foot stones installed, or burials. The planting of flowers only within 4 inch cement border by head stone will be allowed, only if border is approved by Cemetery Committee first. See drawing attached. However, live or artificial flowers may be placed anywhere on graves within 5 days before Memorial Day and MUST be removed within 5 days after Memorial Day or maintenance will remove and dispose of them. All grave sites shall be kept neat, uncluttered and inside border of head stone area. Anything outside of that area is subject to removal and thrown away at your expense. Grave digging to be done with approval of the Cemetery Committee by a person who has insurance and equipment and knowledge of digging graves. PURCHASE OF LOTS All fees shall be set by the Cemetery Committee and approved by the Church Council. Upon full payment, the church will issue a right to burial deed to the lot(s). Lots purchased must have a designated name, along with current address and phone number. TRANSFER OF LOTS This must be done using a transfer of ownership form provided by the church. No cemetery lot(s) can be sold or donated except back to the church. If an owner wishes to have their lot in a different area of the cemetery, the original lot(s),shall be sold or donated back to the church at the original price and new lot(s) to be paid for at the present price. If the price of the lot(s) are the same, a $25.00 dollar fee shall be paid to the church along with a letter of request. If lot(s) are not used within two years after death, the lot(s) shall become property of the church. If an owner cannot be located after a reasonable search and notice published, the lot shall become property of the church. MONUMENTS/MARKERS The Cemetery Committee must have a 48 hour notice in order to mark the placement of the marker Markers must be placed in the space designated by a Cemetery Committee member. No marker may be constructed of limestone, sandstone, wood or any artificial material. All markers must have a concrete pad of 4 wide minimum on all four sides of the monument base and flush with the ground. Concrete pads may have 1 ½ inch holes in it to accept any type of flower planter, holder or hanger. Concrete pads in place before 2004 must have poles and pipe of flower planter touching concrete pad. All grave sites must have a marker within one year after a body/urn is buried. It is desirable for the funeral home or family to place a temporary marker with name at time of burial. No benches or other permanent structures allowed without approval and location by Cemetery Committee. If allowed, benches and structure shall have a concrete pad for bench and structure to sit on. See graphic on next page.
4 PERPETUAL CARE The church will provide perpetual care such as cutting grass, raking and general care of the grounds, but in no case assumes care of or repair to any markers. THE CHURCH WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE OR LOSS TO ANY PART OF THE GRAVE SITE. CEMETERY MANAGEMENT Shall be vested in the Cemetery Committee with the policies approved by the Church Council. THE FOLLOWING ARE PROHIBITED Driving of motor vehicles into the cemetery unless attending a funeral, visiting a grave site, or maintenance work. The driving or parking of any motor vehicle across or upon any grave site. Loud or boisterous talking. Bringing of lunches or refreshments into the cemetery or consuming them on the grounds. Peddling or soliciting. Placing of signs or notices or advertisements of any kind within the cemetery. Bringing firearms into the cemetery, except by military escort accompanying a veteran s funeral or attending memorial services or by police officers while in the line of duty. Throwing or dumping of rubbish on the grounds. NO dogs, cats, pets or other animals will be allowed in the cemetery unless on a leash secured by the owner. ANY and ALL pet droppings WILL be removed promptly by the owner. Persons visiting the cemetery are prohibited from writing upon, defacing or damaging ANY memorial structures or plants.
5 The church reserves the right to amend these rules and regulations in the best interest of the cemetery and is NOT required to give notice of such action. COST Cost of a lot to church members is $ per grave site. Cost of a lot to non-members is $1, per grave site. A $50.00 fee will be charged for marking of a grave site at the time of burial. A $50.00 fee will be charged for marking the location of the monument. Cost of opening of a grave is billed through the funeral home and is set by the person doing the work.
