1 12 Easy Things You Need to Know to Start Using the Educator Dashboard! 1. Log on and select the year and school Access the dashboards at Log on by entering your district , select your district, and enter your district password. Welcome to the Educator Dashboard Home Screen! Use the drop down menus to select the building and year you would like to view. Once selected, your classes will display on the My Students tile. 1

2 2. Report attendance, lunch counts, and verify attendance Use the quick links in the My To Do List tile to access daily tasks. Enter daily lunch counts. Connect to Skyward to take attendance. Verify yesterday s attendance. 2

3 3. View student rosters You can access your student rosters by following a link in the My Students tile or by selecting the My Students tab at the top of the page. Following any of those links will open a class roster as seen below. Rosters can be viewed for all of your students or one class at a time. Using the tools at the top of the roster you can search, download, and print your class lists. 3

4 4. Access parent/guardian contact information Contact information for the primary parent/guardian is listed for each student. Additional student information is available by selecting a student s name and selecting the Contact Info tab. You can a student s primary contact directly from the roster by selecting the envelope icon. Health and Safety alerts can be read by clicking on the triangle icon. 4

5 5. Access IEP/504 requirements for students If a student has an IEP or 504, you will see it indicated on the Class Roster. Clicking on the link will open a PDF copy of the IEP/504. Using the IEP/504 Forms, teachers can acknowledge that they have read and implemented the plan (see below) or provide feedback on student progress (see right). 6 6. View assessment reports for students The By Assessment screen allows you to see your students performance on state and local assessments, across multiple subjects, grade levels, and subscores. Clicking on an individual student s last name opens that student s individual performance report. On the Individual Student Performance screen you can change the way the information displays on the charts using the tool bars above each chart. A more detailed look at Individual Student Performance can be found on page 11. 6

7 7. Drill into assessment results On the By Assessments screen you can filter the assessment data visible by using the filtering options on the left side menu bar. The filters you have selected appear below the Submit button. Click Submit to view the data selected. Click on Reset to clear your filter selections. 7

8 8. Create custom groups of students You can use the Educator Dashboard to create custom groups of students. Quickly create a custom group from any roster or assessment screen by checking the box to the left of the student s name. Check the boxes for all the students you want in the group, then click the Create Group button. You can also create a custom group by selecting By Custom Group on the left hand menu and then selecting Create Custom Group. All three of the above options will take you to the Create Custom Group Screen. Simply select the students and click Add. Add students from a different class by using the top, drop down menu. When you are finished adding students, give your group a name and a description, and then click Create. Your custom group will now be listed on the By Custom Group menu. 8 Your custom groups will also be listed on the By Assessment screens. Select the custom group and you will only see the assessment results for the students in that group.

9 9. Use the RTI tools to monitor student progress Two forms on the Dashboard allow you to set up and monitor student interventions. Use the RTI Setup form to create an intervention for a student or group of students. The drop down menus allow you to indicate the subject, skill, and intervention, as well as the number and length of sessions. You can also use drop down menus to identify the interventionist working with the student(s), review the schedule, and select the primary assessment tool. Once all of the RTI information is entered, click Submit. To report student progress, use the RTI Progress Monitor form. 9

10 Unlike the RTI Setup form, the RTI Progress Monitor form shows information for one student at a time. To view the interventions for an individual, use the drop down menus at the top to locate the student s name. Once selected, all the interventions for that student are listed by date. Select an intervention to view the details. Monitor student progress by adding notes and performance data. Select the + to add a new entry or Edit to modify an existing entry. 10

11 10. Use student reports to see individual student performance data Detailed student information can be found on the Student Profile page. Open a student s profile by clicking on the student s last name on any roster screen. From the profile you can see the student s Attendance: Calendar view and total number of absences Student Record: Student s current schedule Grades and Credits: Current and previous year achievement grades Contact Info: Complete contact information from the student information system Student Performance: Detailed student assessment scores Navigate between the report screens by using the handy tabs. Locate detailed assessment charts. 11

12 From the Student Profile screen, the Student Performance tab opens a new screen with detailed student assessment charts. State test achievement results are displayed when you first open these screens. Switch between assessments by using the top set of tabs or by clicking on the assessments listed near the bottom of the screen. View several assessments, including local assessments, on one page by selecting the assessment link below the ISAT tab. The viewing options available will vary by assessment. For example, by using the tabs on the top of the chart you can see the detailed assessment results. Change the subject using the drop down menu above each chart. Switch between a bar chart or a line graph using the button shown. 12

13 11. Use class and building level student reports to see longer term trends There are three reports available for you to review. The Class Benchmark Scores report shows how your students performed on a state or local assessments. This is a class level report. Change the class, year, assessment, or subject by using the tools at the top. 13

14 The Assessment by Performance Levels report is a building level report that allows you to conduct a year by year comparison of student performance levels. For example, in the chart to the left you can see a comparison between the students in 5 th grade during the school year and the students in 5 th grade during the school year. You can change the date range, assessment, grade, subject, and subgroup by using the tools at the top. 14

15 The Group and Subgroup Percentages report is similar to the Assessment Performance Levels report, but allows you to focus on the percentage of students from any given group or subgroup who Meets or Exceeds standards. 15

16 12. Teaching Resources The My Teaching tab is your link to a wide assortment of instructional resources. Customize your tools and resources links using My Tools and My Resources. You can add your own personal links by selecting the Enter the information and click Save to add the link to your list. Under My Tools and My Resources, you have links to tools and resources selected by the district. 16

17 Access additional resources through the OER searchable database. Search Use keywords and filters to search for resources. Standards Browser Browse a large list of Illinois and national standards. Select Search to find resources aligned to selected standards. OER Contribute Tag new web based resources, add your own resources, and create learning lists using OER Contribute. 17

18 Access resources curated by the team at MyIRC Assessment Resources and Organizations have lists of links connecting you to key online resources and organizations. Click a link to navigate to a website. MyIRC Resources gives you access to the ever growing OER library of resources curated by the MyIRC team. 18
