1 Syllabus for Course work for Ph. D. Environment Science and Technology 1
2 Title: Course work for PhD Environmental Science Nature of the Course- The course work will consist of three papers: 1. Tools and Techniques in Environmental Science 2. Quantitative Analysis Techniques 3. Literature Review All the three papers are compulsory. The duration of the course work will be one semester. Each paper will be taught for minimum of 50 hours and maximum of 60 hours. The 3 rd paper Reviewing of Published Research Work in the area of Ph. D. topic will be a continuous process. In Paper I the student should select practicals to cover a 60 hour period. The selection of the practical will be done based on the research topic in consultation with the respective guide and the HOD/ Director. Assessment 1. The examination for each paper will be of 100 marks with three hours duration. 2. The 3 rd paper, Reviewing of Published Research will be assessed based on a Seminars to be given during the Semester. Standard of passing The candidate should secure minimum 50 marks in each paper including the seminar to get qualified to proceed further with the Ph. D. programme. Attendance: 100% attendance is compulsory 2
