1 Microsoft Office 2016 (Mac) Installation Guide This document shows you how to download and install Microsoft 2016 using Safari. Please take note of the following before you proceed a. Notebook not purchase from NP authorised supplier, do section A to F. b. Notebooks purchased from NP authorised suppliers, this application is already pre-installed. You are required to do section A to D and F. For section D, you are only required to do from Step 1 to 2.g to register for Microsoft account. c. This application does not require product key during activation on section F. The product key obtained on section C, please secure a copy or take a picture for future reference.

3 A. WebStore Account registration 1. Go to Microsoft Online store: and you could either Sign In or Register as follows (i) Sign In Click Sign In if you have already registered for an account before and go to Section C Obtain MS Office 2016 Product key. Sign in with your Username and Password if you have registered before. (ii) Register a. Click Register to create your account if you visit for the first time b. 4 c. Enter your Student address e.g. and click Continue. d. Type in your First Name, Last Name and Username as your Student Connect Address as shown below. Choose a new Password to register with Microsoft and then click on Register button. A verification will be sent to your Student Mail. 6 B. Accessing NP connect mail 1. To access the verification Go to and login with your Student Connect ID and Password (your NPNet password). If your student number is s k, then your login id is Password is your NPNET password In your Inbox, look for an from and click on the link to complete the verification of your address. Click on the link 2. 9 5. You will see the Microsoft Student Option User Acceptance Form. Once Username and Signature is provided click Accept. Username is Signature is Your name e.g Jame Bond Updated on 2 March 2016 Page 9 of 26

10 6. Key in your Last Name, First Name & NP student address and click Proceed with Order. 7. Product Key will only be available for 31 days. After which, to retrieve the product key, there will be admin charge imposed by Microsoft. Take a picture or screenshot of the Product Key and click Download. Please note : This application does not require a product key to activate. You may secure a copy of the product key for future reference. 12 D. Microsoft Account Creation 1. Click Next to setup your Microsoft account. 2. Create a new Microsft account proceed to steps a-k. Otherwise, Sign In if you have registered before then proceed to steps i-k. a. Click on Create a free Microsoft account Updated on 2 March 2016 Page 12 of 26

13 b. Provide your Student Connect address and password. Click Next c. Provide First Name, Last Name and Click Next Updated on 2 March 2016 Page 13 of 26

14 d. Please enter your password as in Step b for verification. Enter the Password you have entered in Step b e. Notification will pop-up saying that Microsoft has sent an to your Connect Mail for verification. Please login to your Connect Mail to verify. Updated on 2 March 2016 Page 14 of 26

15 f. Check your Connect Mail from Microsoft Account team click Verify as shown below. g. You are now ready to install MS Office application click OK. Please note : If you purchase the notebook from our NP authorized suppliers, this application is already pre-installed. Proceed to section F to activate the software using Microsoft account. 16 h. Go to Click on Install from Office.com/My Account i. Sign in with your Microsoft Account. Enter your Student Connect and Password and click Sign In. Sign in with your Username e.g and Password entered on step b if you have registered before. Updated on 2 March 2016 Page 16 of 26

18 E. MS Office 2016 Installation a. Locate the installer on Downloads. b. Click Continue. Updated on 2 March 2016 Page 18 of 26

19 c. Click Continue and read through the License Agreement for Install Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac. d. Click Agree to acknowledge the software license agreement. Updated on 2 March 2016 Page 19 of 26

23 F. MS Office 2016 Activation 1. After Office 2016 for Mac is installed, Word 2016 for Mac opens so you can activate Office and confirm your subscription. You should only have to do this once. Review the Word 2016 for Mac What's New screen, and then select Get started. 2. Select Sign In. Updated on 2 March 2016 Page 23 of 26
