3 TO HLP PRVNT SRIOUS OR FATAL INJURIS FROM NTRAPMNT OR FALLS Follow the information on the warnings appearing on the upper bunk end structure and on the carton. Do not remove warning label from bed. Always use the recommended size mattress or mattress support, or both, to help prevent the likelihood of entrapment or falls. Surface of mattress must be at least 5 in. (12.7 cm) below the upper edge of guardrails. Do not allow children under years of age to use the upper bunk. Periodically check and ensure that the guardrail, ladder and other components are in their proper position, free from damage and that all connectors are tight. Do not allow horseplay on or under the bed and prohibit jumping on the bed. Always use the ladder for entering and leaving the upper bunk. Do not use substitute parts. Contact the manufacturer or dealer for replacement parts. Use of a night light may provide added safety precaution for a child using the upper bunk. Always use guardrails on both long sides of the upper bunk. If the bunk bed will be placed next to the wall, the guardrail that runs the full length of the bed should be placed against the wall to prevent entrapment between the bed and wall. The use of water or sleep flotation mattress is prohibited. 7 ASSMBLING LOWR HADBOARD/FOOTBOARD Ø.5 mm x 48 mm Tapping Bolt (8 used in this step) 4 Ø10 mm x 50 mm Wood Dowel (4 used in this step) 1. Unpack the units and confirm that you have all hardware and required parts. 2. Locate one Lower Cap Rail (C) on a level and protected surface with the holes facing up. Insert two Wood Dowels () into the large holes of one Lower Cross Assembly (D) and attach to the Lower Cap Rail (C) using four 48 mm Bolts (4). Securely tighten the bolts with the enclosed L-shaped Allen wrench. As shown above. 3. Repeat last step to combine the other Lower Cap Rail (C) and the other Lower Headboard Assembly together. Insert six Wood Dowels () into the large holes of the Lower Cross Assembly (D) at both ends. Align and attach one Lower Post (A) and one Lower Post (B) to one Lower Cross Assembly (D) with four 100 mm Tapping Bolts (3) as shown. Be sure the pilot holes on the cross assembly and the cutout on the post face the same direction. 5. Repeat the same procedure with the other Lower Cross Assembly (D). Align and attach one Removable Decor (V) to each Post (A and B) with one 0 mm Wood Screw (9) as shown. Make sure that the curved edge of Removable Decor (V) will face the floor when the unit is turned upright. Use the pilot holes as a guide, align and attach 2 Wood Filler Blocks (X) to the bottom rail of one Lower Cross Assembly (D). Insert one 30 mm Screw (7) through each countersunk hole on the Wood Filler Blocks (X) and screw into the Lower Cross Assembly (D). Securely tighten the wood screws with a Phillips screwdriver. 11 ASSMBLING LOWR BUNK A B J K 1 5 A D J B B D K A Ø1/4 x 110 mm Bolt (8 used in this step) 1 Barrel Nut (8 used in this step) 5 NOT: Please follow the instructions carefully to insure a safe and sturdy bed. Do not fully tighten the bolts until all rails and guardrails are attached. 9. Insert 2 Barrel Nuts (5) into each end of the Back Mattress Side Rail (J) and Lower Ladder Side Rail (K). Be sure that the cross slot on the Barrel Nut faces out and that the long groove points towards the entry of the Bolt. 10. Bolt the Back Mattress Side Rail (J) and Lower Ladder Side Rail (K) between the Lower Posts (A and B) as shown above, using the 110 mm Bolts (1) through the drilled holes on the Posts and screw into the Barrel Nuts (5) in the Side Rails (J and K). Make sure the wood stoppers attached to the Mattress Side Rail for slats are up and face inward. Tighten the bolts with the enclosed Allen wrench. Align and attach one Upper Cross Assembly (I) to one Upper Cap Rail (H) using two Wood Dowels () and four 48 mm Bolts (4) as shown. Securely tighten the bolts with the enclosed L-shaped Allen wrench. 12. Repeat last step to combine the remaining Upper Cap Rail (H) and Upper Cross Assembly (I) together. Attach Upper Posts ( and F) to the Upper Cross Assembly by using four 100 mm Bolts (3) as shown. Tighten the bolts with the enclosed Allen wrench. 14. Insert the Wood Dowels () into the drilled large holes of Long Guardrail (M) at both ends. Attach 2 Long Guardrails (M) and the other Mattress Side Rail (J) between the Upper Posts ( and F) using eight 110 mm Bolts (1) and eight Barrel Nuts (5) as shown above. Make sure the wood stoppers for slat attached on side rail are up and face inward. 17. Attach Upper Ladder Side Rail (L) between the Upper Posts ( and G) using four 110 mm Bolts (1) and four Barrel Nuts (5). Insert the Wood Dowels () into the end large holes of Short Guardrails (N) as a guide. Attach 2 Short Guardrails (N) between the Front Upper Post () and Front Guardrail Post (T) using four 110 mm Bolts (1) and four Barrel Nuts (5). As shown. 19. Fasten the Front Guardrail Post (T) to the Upper Ladder Side Rail (L) with two 38 mm Bolts (2), using the enclosed Allen wrench. As shown. 17 ASSMBLING UPPR BUNK 7 U UP M M J N N L UP U 7 Ø4 mm x 30 mm Screw ( used in this step) With the pilot holes as a guide, align and attach one Guardrail Support (U) to the center of the Long Guardrails (M) and the Upper Mattress Side Rail (J) by using three 30 mm Screws (7) through the countersunk holes and screw into place. As shown above. 21. Repeat the same procedure to attach the other Guardrail Support (U) to the Short Guardrails (N) and the Upper Ladder Side Rail (L). Insert 4 Bed Connector Pins (10) into the top holes of Lower Bunk, as shown. 24. Now, ask for assistance to stack the Upper Bunk onto the Bed Connector Pins (10) on the Lower Bunk. NOT: Make sure that the Upper Bunk sits completely on top of the Lower Bunk and the pins go all the way, not leaving any gaps. Insert the Wood Dowels () into the drilled large holes of Ladder Steps (S) at both ends. Attach Left and Right Ladder Supports (Q and R) to the Ladder Steps (S) using the 48 mm Tapping Bolts (4). 20 ASSMBLY OF TH LADDR Q R L 2 L Q R K Q R K Ø1/4 x 38 mm Bolt (4 used in this step) Align and attach the assembled Ladder to the Ladder Side Rails (K and L) by inserting four 38 mm Bolts (2) through the pre-drilled holes on the Ladder Side Rails and screw into the threaded inserts on the Ladder Supports (Q and R). 21 ASSMBLY OF TH BUNK BD Ø4 mm x 30 mm Screw (14 used in this step) Lay out the Upper Mattress Support Slats (P) between the wood stoppers on the Upper Mattress Side Rail (J) and the Upper Ladder Side Rail (L). As shown. Insert and screw 30 mm Screws (7) into the countersunk holes in each end of the slats. Tighten the screws using a Phillips screwdriver. 22 ASSMBLY OF TH BUNK BD Ø1/4 x 38 mm Bolt (3 used in this step) 2 Ø4 mm x 30 mm Screw (14 used in this step) Align and attach 3 Slat Supports (W) to the bottom side of the Lower Mattress Support Slats (O) by inserting the 38 mm Bolts (2) through the countersunk holes on the Slats and screw into place as shown. 29. Lay out the Lower Mattress Support Slats (O) between the wood stoppers on the Mattress Side Rail (J) and Lower Ladder Side Rail (K). As shown. Insert and screw the 30 mm Screws (7) into the countersunk holes in each end of the slats. Tighten the screws using a Phillips screwdriver. 23 DISASSMBLING TH BUNK BD NOT: The Bunk Bed can be separated into a Twin Bed and a Full Size Bed. In this case, attach four Floor Protectors (8) onto the bottom of the Upper Posts (, F and G) Guardrails are not necessary. 30. To convert the bunk bed back into a Twin bed and a Full size bed, first unscrew the bolts to remove the Ladder and all Guardrails. 31. Have an assistant help to remove the Upper Bunk from the Lower Bunk. 32. Attach four Floor Protectors (8) to the bottom of the Upper Posts (, F and G), as shown in the illustration. The beds can now be placed in the desired locations. 24 Care and Maintenance Use a soft, clean cloth that will not scratch the surface when dusting. Use of furniture polish is not necessary. Should you choose to use polish, test first in an inconspicuous area. Using solvents of any kind on your furniture may damage your furniture s finish. Never use water to clean your furniture as it may cause damage to the finish. Always use coasters under beverage glasses and flowerpots. Liquid spills should be removed immediately.
