IF THE BED WILL BE PLACED NEXT TO THE WALL, THE GUARDRAIL THAT RUNS THE FULL LENGTH OF THE BED SHOULD BE PLACED AGAINST THE WALL TO PREVENT ENTRAPMENT BETWEEN THE BED AND WALL. STRANGULATION HAZARD- Never attach or hang items to any part of the bunk bed that are not designed for use with the bed; for example, but not limited to, hooks, belts and jump ropes. Prohibit more than one person on upper bunk. Maximum mattress thickness must not exceed 9. Surface of mattress must be at least 5 below the upper edge guardrails. Use only mattress which is long and wide on upper bunk. Page # 2

3 TO HELP PREVENT SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURIES FROM ENTRAPMENT OR FALLS Follow the information on the warnings appearing on the upper bunk end structure and on the carton. Do not remove warning label from bed. Always use the recommended size mattress or mattress support, or both, to help prevent the likelihood of entrapment or falls. Surface of mattress must be at least 5 (127 mm) below the upper edge of guardrails. Do not allow children under 6 years of age to use the upper bunk. Periodically check and ensure that the guardrail, ladder and other components are in their proper position, free from damage, and that all connectors are tight. Do not allow horseplay on or under the bed and prohibit jumping on the bed. Always use the ladder for entering and leaving the upper bunk. Do not use substitute parts. Contact the manufacturer or dealer for replacement parts. Use of a night light may provide added safety precaution for a child using the upper bunk. Always use guardrails on both long sides of the upper bunk. If the bunk bed will be placed next to the wall, the guardrail that runs the full length of the bed should be placed against the Page # 3

4 wall to prevent entrapment between the bed and wall. The use of water or sleep flotation mattress is prohibited. NOTE: Please follow the instructions carefully to insure a s a f e and sturdy bed. Unpack the unit and confirm that you have all hardware and parts required. 2. Insert two Barrel Nuts (part 7) into each end of the Mattress Side Rail (part C). Be sure that the long slot on the Barrel Nut is facing out and that the long groove is parallel to the Rail towards the end of the Side Rail. 3. Bolt the Mattress Side Rail (part C) to the Upper Headboard (part BH); by inserting two 4 1/4 Red Bolts (part 1) through the bottom two holes Page # 7

8 in the post of the Headboard and into the Barrel Nut (part 7) in the Mattress Side Rail (part C). Slat support must face in. as shown in detail # 1. Screw in only part way using the Allen Wrench provided. 4. Now attach the Futon Right Mechanism (part MR) to the Lower Headboard (part AH) with two 3/4" White Bolts (part 4) through the Lock Washers and Flat Washers (part 5 & 6) through the Page # 12

13 Mechanism into the threaded inserts included in the Lower Footboard. As shown in detail # Repeat last step to attach the Futon Left Mechanism (part ML) to the Lower Footboard (part AF). Attach Futon Seat Frame (part GS) to the Right Mechanism (part MR), using a 3/4" Bolt (part 4) through the Lock Washer and Flat Washer (part 5 & 6) through the side hole on Page # 13

14 Mechanism into the threaded inserts on the side of Seat Frame. Now secure Futon Seat Frame to the Mechanism with two 3/4" Bolts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (part 4, 5 & 6) from bottom of Right Mechanism. As shown in detail # Repeat the procedure to the Futon Left Mechanism (part ML). 15 16. In the same manner, attach the Futon Back Frame (part GB) to the other end of both Metal Mechanisms (part ML & MR). It can be easy assembled by rotating Back Frame at sofa style position when you attach Back Frame to Mechanisms from bottom. As shown in detail #8. 16 CONNECTING BUNK BED 17. Insert four Steel Connector Pins (part L) into holes of lower bunk posts; pins should extend 2" above post. With the help of a friend place top bunk over pins and onto lower bunk. See detail #9. Parts L Steel Connector Pin (4) No Tool Page # 16

17 ASSEMBLING LADDER 18. Attach in the Ladder Hook (part 8) using two 3/4 Wood Screws (part 10) into the pre-drilled holes on the top of each Ladder Support (part KL & KR). See detail # Proceed to screw Ladder Steps (part KS) to the Left Ladder Support (part KL) using the 1 1/2 Yellow Bolts (part 3). As shown in detail #10A. 20. Repeat last step with Right Ladder Support (part KR). 18 ASSEMBLING LADDER 21. Hook the Ladder securely over the top of the Ladder Side Rail (part CL), between the Upper Guardrail Post (part I) and Upper Footboard (part BF) in the opening provided. 22. Proceed to screw the Hook to the Side Rail using two 3/4 Wood Screws (part 10) through the hole in the ladder hook from inside. As shown in detail #11. Attach in the Ladder Hook (part 8) using two 3/4 Wood Screws (part 10) into the pre-drilled holes on the top of each Ladder Support (part KL & KR). See detail # Proceed to screw Ladder Steps (part KS) to the Left Ladder Support (part KL) using the 1 1/2 Yellow Bolts (part 3). As shown in detail #10A. 20. 22 ASSEMBLING LADDER 21. Hook the Ladder securely over the top of the Ladder Side Rail (part CL), between the Upper Guardrail Post (part I) and Upper Footboard (part BF) in the opening provided. 22. Proceed to screw the Hook to the Side Rail using two 3/4 Wood Screws (part 10) through the hole in the ladder hook from inside. As shown in detail #11.
